Grand Bávaro Princess Resort Review In Dominican Republic ????????
After escaping from a civil unrest in Panama. We took a spontaneous flight to the next affordable country that happens to have a similar flag color. Don’t be confused Panama and Dominican Republic (DR) are very different. We normally don’t stay at resorts but this is my first vacation in over 2 hours, we going to live it up. We explore Punta Cana in July at a well known resort called Grand Bávaro Princess. For $120/ night all inclusive we were advised to visit this place in DR by a local. Turned out that July isn’t the best time to visit the beaches. Punta Cana seaweed is worst when the weather is hotter, and it almost disappears during the winter months in the northern hemisphere. Seaweed in Punta Cana is very rare between November and May, which have the lowest temperatures in the Dominican Republic. Learn from our mistake. Also found out that you won’t learn about this when in DR because the Government and Tourism Director highly advertise Punta Cana no matter what. It’s a huge money maker to send tourists there.
Restaurants
Rebel Bar:
Main food is nasty.It was hotdog or nachos with melted cheese as though they put it in the microwave. Salad bar is the better option. Probably worth going if you room has no food at 0200 am in the morning. Drinks were either beer or Pina Colada’s. Both were cheap quality made.
Piano Bar:
It’s fancy and the first bar you run into out of the whole resort. They will serve you any cocktail. Occasionally a Pianist will play.
Theater Bar:
Not sure why they call it this, but our four nights here. This place was overall crowd favorite and always packed. We arrived a hour and 40min before it opened just to get a seat. Restaurant is stir fry and good selection of food ( like a ohanas or Mongolian grill style).
La Carte: Good food as well and long wait.
Choose between Italian or Indian food. Be surrounded by quirky decor and real flamingos.

25 June 2014. Taking the guagua (local public transport) between Pedernales (in the far southwest of the Dominican Republic) to the city of Barahona.
This part of the DR is a mix of high desert and lowland wetlands and saltwater lakes. Fascinating place and my favorite part of the DR.

Emma is an American expat living in Guaymate, Dominican Republic, which is about 25 minutes away from La Romana, a larger city in the south east and on beautiful beaches. Emma shows us a peek into her authentic Dominica lifestyle, and how she lives there with her fiance's family. They built their own home next door, so we will show that and the town, as well as the Batey's in the next video! So grateful to Emma for showing us how she chooses to live as an expat, and how quickl she's adapted to such a different lifestyle, away from most expats in the Dominican republic. i love seeing how different people live in the Dominican republic, so this was super interesting!
