Britannia Load Test Train - Gresford Bank

This shot was taken on the footbridge just before Gresford station (in the background after turning to face upgrade). The sound of the loco was so loud at this point that it drowns out the road noise from the nearby dual carriage way. Although I can't comment, as this is the first time I've been to Gresford Bank, one guy there says that this is possibly the fastest accent of the bank up to this point in the modern era. The diesel on the rear appears to be doing nothing to assist this climb either, and I suspect that this rapid pace was down to the fact it was an hour late by the time it reached here.

Sehr wenig.

The Bells of Gloucester Cathedral

The historic city of Gloucester has the finest Cathedral in England. First, in the 11th century, it was the abbey of St Peter. In 1540 following the dissolution of the monastery King Henry VIII created the Cathedral. Among the bells in the tower is the 3 tonne medieval Great Peter Bourdon bell, the only one remaining in England.
