Most of the best things to do in Annapolis involve exploring its history. Start by visiting the Hammond-Harwood House, Maryland State House, or William Paca House. They’re both marvels of architecture and important historical buildings. You’ll feel as if you’re walking through time and traveling back into the American Revolution as you traverse their grounds.

Annapolis also has a range of museums to enjoy, including the Banneker-Douglas and Maritime Museum. It’s also the only place in the world with a museum dedicated entirely to cryptology, the study of making and breaking codes.

Coastal towns live and die by their waterfront features. Watch or browse expensive boats at Ego Alley and the United States Sailboat Show or take a boat ride on the Chesapeake Bay.

Natural beauty abounds around the city. Visit Sandy Point State Park or Quiet Waters Park to get a taste of it.

There’s plenty to eat in Annapolis, and visiting its restaurants is one of the best things to do in the city. Get breakfast at Chick and Ruth’s Delly, taste some of the best seafood in the area at Canter’s Riverside Inn, or have an ice cream cone at the Annapolis Ice Cream Company.

The Historical District contains many of the best things to do in Annapolis if you’re coming for the history. Eastport is an equally engaging neighborhood with boat races, beautiful views, restaurants, and more.

Seeing all of these sites in one trip is difficult, but booking a trolley tour is the best way to experience as much as possible.

Life of Jane Austen - Walking in her footsteps - Places Jane Austen Lived or Visited

The life of Jane Austen was extraordinary, and 250 years later we can walk in her footsteps and visit places Jane Austen lived or visited in her short but remarkable life.

From Jane Austen's birth to her death we have travelled to many of the places we know she lived and visited starting in Steventon her birth village, to the glamorous Georgian City of Bath where were fortunes were mixed and unsettling for the 6 years she lived there.
We follow her to Southampton where her brother Francis gave her a home, and then back to her beloved Hampshire and Chawton Cottage her final proper home. Along the way, we tell many stories of Jane Austen that give us a picture of her life, and how the luck of her brother Edward Austen Knight being adopted by the rich Knight family, enabled him to provide a home for Jane and to provide her with inspiration to write in part thanks to Edward and his Chawton House estate. We see out her final days in Winchester, follow the route her coffin took to Winchester Cathedral and visit the grave of Jane Austen to complete our final footsteps in her past. Jane Austen was arguably one of the best English novelists of her time we hope our video will give you further insight into her life.

Best LONDON STREET FOOD at BOROUGH MARKET | London food market | British food + what NOT to eat

LONDON STREET FOOD in BOROUGH MARKET | What to eat at BOROUGH MARKET
We're in London, United Kingdom! In this 3 part series we're hunting down the best British food in London, United Kingdom.

This is our first video from London and we're at Borough Market to find the best British food. Borough Market is one of London's oldest and biggest food markets. Aside from a tonne of fresh produce, meat and seafood there is a wide variety of cooked food to be eaten. We want to sample the best of the best. We start with a sausage roll from the famous butcher The Ginger Pig, tuck into some oysters from Richard Harwood whose relatives have been in the oyster game since 1792, eat a chorizo roll from Brindisa (not worth it) and then scoff some of Bread Ahead's famous doughnuts.

We hope you enjoyed this London street food video, thanks for watching! #boroughmarket #londonstreetfood #britishfood

What we ate and where we ate it:

Sausage roll at The Ginger Pig;

Oysters at Richard Harwood;

Chorizo roll from Brindisa (not worth eating in our opinion); and

Doughnuts from Bread Ahead; all at Borough Market, 8 Southwark St, London SE1 1TL, UK. Open Monday to Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Eating a Sunday Roast at London’s Only Michelin-Star Pub | Hungerlust Ep 4

The Sunday roast, the most British dish of all, gets an elevated upgrade at the Harwood Arms, London’s only Michelin-star pub.
Culture Trip’s original video series Hungerlust is a food show that’s not really about food. Hungerlust tracks eight proud locals as they open their kitchens and communities, revealing eight incredibly diverse, culturally important and community-driven dishes, all against the backdrop of some of the world’s most vibrant and culinarily rich cities.

You’ll hear untold family histories and real stories straight from the mouths of these cities’ most knowledgeable people: the locals. Travel from Jerusalem to London to Mexico City and Hong Kong and back; watch proud chefs, bakers and food lovers break bread in Paris, slurp the spiciest ramen in Tokyo, share a fire-kissed stew in Morocco and save one vanishing Austin neighborhood through barbecue. We guarantee you’ll leave hungry.

Satisfy your appetite for the unknown with Hungerlust. Discover more about London’s Sunday Roast and stream the full series here:

Visiting 3 of London's Oldest Pubs to Find Best Traditional British Food!

I've eaten some great meal in pubs around the UK. On this trip I decided to search out 3 of London's oldest pubs to try some traditional British food and hopefully dispel the myth that British Food is all bad?
The three spots in order are:

The Seven Stars, Aldwych.
53 Carey St, near Chancery Lane station, WC2A 2JB

The George, Borough
77 Borough High St, near London Bridge station, SE1 1NH

The Mayflower, Rotherhithe
117 Rotherhithe St, Rotherhithe, near Rotherhithe station, SE16 4NF

_________________________________________________________________

It's been 8 years since I posted my first video. Now I've just relaunched.
Challenge is to complete what I started with a 6 month series in which I hope to answer these questions.
What makes Nigerian food Nigerian food?
Why have certain techniques been developed?
Are there techniques to make the process of some food preparation easier?
Are there techniques to make the food taste even more awesome?

I'm not a chef so I'm looking to find answers through the process of getting in the kitchen and cooking, as well as travelling and eating in order to compare and contrast foods and cooking techniques from other cultures.
Lastly I'm hoping to learn from all of you guys whether you are expert in Nigerian cuisine or just like eating food.

Don't forget to subscribe.
Also leave comments and let us know what you want in the next show.

Grantham Walk: Town Centre【4K】

Located in the county of Lincolnshire, and around 110 miles north of London, is the town of Grantham.

Geographically, Grantham is situated along the River Witham in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire. During the 9th century AD the Danes conquered Eastern England, giving Grantham some of its street names including 'Westgate' and 'Swinegate'. The 'gate' suffix comes from the Old Norse 'gata', meaning street.

By the late 11th century, Grantham was a market town with a prosperous wool trade. The wealth garnered from the wool industry contributed towards the building of St Wulfram's Church. With a spire around 84 metres/275 foot tall, the church dominates the skyline to this day.

In 1642, Isaac Newton was born in the village of Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, around eight miles south of Grantham. Between 1655 and 1660, Newton studied at The King's School in Grantham. A signature is carved on the wall of what is now the school library, believed to have been carved by Newton himself. He would go on to formulate a number of principles including the universal laws of motion and gravitation, as well as being one of the fathers of calculus. His work paved the way for the Industrial Revolution.

Grantham's position along the Great North Road made it a popular staging post during the pre-railway era. Horses and their passengers would stop overnight at coaching inns before continuing on, in this case either north towards Edinburgh, or south towards London. When the railway arrived in Grantham in the 1850s, it became part of what is today the East Coast Main Line running from King's Cross station in London to Edinburgh Waverley station.

During the 19th century, Grantham became an engineering town. The company Richard Hornsby & Sons was founded in the town, and is credited with construction of the world's first commercial heavy oil engines in 1892, as well as the first oil-engined tractor in 1896.

In 1925, Margaret Thatcher was born in Grantham (née Margaret Hilda Roberts). She would go on to become Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990, and Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990. As such, she became the country's first female Prime Minister, and longest-serving PM of the 20th century.

Beastly Roe! Preserved West Yorkshire PTE Roe Leyland Olympian: UWW 10X

Definitely a bit of a hidden gem among the runners at this event - Which as you can see, was almost completely empty on the run I did.

This beastly 1982 Roe Olympian was new to West Yorkshire PTE MetroBus, but also has time on the Isle Of Man, at Eastern National down south, and with Confidence Travel, West Midlands under its belt - But is now in the collection at Town And District.

Unfortunately, The footage corrupted beyond Sunnybower - This was meant to be an entire circular run, Great Harwood - Blackburn - Great Harwood, But I guess it wasn't to be - Which is why this video has sat in my archive for months, despite being entirely salvageable. Anyway, Enjoy some thrash over some beautiful scenery!
