It's not a secret that Montana is one of the most beautiful states in the United States. The Big Sky Country is the home of some natural wonders such as the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains. In fact, the majority of the 147,000 square miles of Montana offer exquisite wildlife and unadulterated terrains. Here, you can satisfy your insatiable needs for outdoor wonders.
Of course, Montana isn't limited to this. The economy in this state is quite doing good. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, most cities and towns in this area were able to bounce back. Job opportunities are pretty vast here. Industries and markets are flourishing in Montana, and it is expected that it will still see more of this growth.

Day 10 of our road trip from FL to MT we finally make it to MONTANA!!! We started our day in Glendive, Montana and drove 6 hours to Great Falls Montana where we went to the beautiful State Park of Giant Springs! William Clark from Lewis and Clark came to this very spot on June 18, 1805 and said this was the largest fountain or spring he had ever seen. Wow what a cool place in our history! Watch the video and learn more about their expedition west to the Pacific Ocean!

Hello world, my name is Dinodave . I am a dinosaur enthusiast and I LOVE adventure and I love discovering dinosaurs. My home in Montana is the best place for both of those. I have several adventures that I will be gong on this summer and I hope that you will follow along with me and we can both be in awe at how amazing this world is. I grew up in a small town of Glendive Montana with dinosaurs in my backyard. I studied paleontology at Montana State University under famed paleontologist Jack Horner and was a preparator at the Museum of the Rockies. When I received my degree I drifted away from paleontology until a series of fortunate circumstances led me to tag along on a dinosaur expedition to Mongolia with my ol' professor Jack Horner the scientific advisor for Jurassic World. The experience lit a fire under me again and I am back in the dinosaur world! I hope you will now tag along with me for the ride.

Makoshika State Park is the largest state park in Montana. It is a nature preserve and public recreation area located on the southeast side of Glendive in Dawson County, Montana. The state park encompasses badlands containing dinosaur fossils and rock from the Hell Creek Formation. It is one of the best state park I've ever visited it is a MUST GO for Montana. Strangely Beautiful Makoshika State Park near Glendive, Montana MT
Lace up your hiking boots as we descend into the whimsical badlands landscape of Makoshika State Park in Eastern Montana near Glendive, MT. ma-KO-sh(ih)kuh is from the Sioux Indian word Ma-ko-shi-ka, 'bad earth or bad land'. It is the largest of Montana's state parks at more than 11,000 acres.
The park contains spectacular badlands which conceal dinosaur fossils. The park has rock from the Hell Creek Formation and dinosaur fossils such as Triceratops are found here. In 1997 a fossil Thescelosaurus was found by an expedition led by Jack Horner and Bob Harmon.

Makoshika State Park Cains Campground - Glendive MT
Makoshika State Park is located in Glendive MT, and is Montana’s largest State Park. We stayed there for one night on our way from North Dakota to Glacier National Park, and although it was freezing, I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the beauty of this park.
The Ultimate Guide to Teardrop Trailer Camping:
The name Makoshika is Lakota for “bad land” and describes the interesting formations in the park. This park is known for the fossils so be sure to visit the interpretive center, which includes Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex fossils. Over 10 species of dinosaur remains have been found in the park.
There are 28 camp sites in the park and vault toilets in the camp ground. There are no showers or electric sites.

Overlanding Makoshika State Park, MT in Our Land Cruiser
Overlanding in Montana unexpectedly leads us to Makoshika State Park in our Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier as we make our way east toward North Dakota. Butting up to the suburbs of the town of Glendive MT is one of the most spectacular state parks we have ever visited. Makoshika is home to unique geological features and sparsely populated trails leading to dinosaur bone fossils. Many of the roadways in the park are unpaved with steep switchbacks leading to expansive views carved by water and time. Our time in this small park was a good introduction to the dramatic landscapes and wildlife we would find in Badlands National Park in next week's video. Thanks for watching, byeee!

How did we get here?
We're Cody and Olivia, an American couple from Oregon, who found a love for 4x4 driving and camping after we purchased a 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner. After exploring much of the American west in our 4Runner, we found our dream overland rig, a 1985 HJ75 Toyota Landcruiser Troopy, in Bend, Oregon. We plunged head first into fixing up and building out the Troopy with a lot of misadventures along the way. Finally in 2022, we realized we had an opportunity to live our dream of full-time overland travel. We quit our jobs, sold our house and all of our belongings, and set out on the road trip of a lifetime following the Pan-American Highway south to Ushuaia, Argentina.
