We were the only 4 members in the complete forest and we were surrounded by only water on all the sides. With no protective gears or even umbrella, our team braced the extreme weather, took every risk in shooting this video and presenting this for the pleasure of devotees. During this time, Ahobilam is beautiful beyond heaven.

Ugra Sthamham is said to be the place where the Lord has appeared in the form of Narasimha. This cleft of the mountain dividing it into two visible parts can be seen from a long distance. It is a popular place to visit in Ahobilam and is the toughest trek in Ahobilam.
This place has to trek from Upper Ahobila Temple. The path goes through a thick forest and the path is very narrow with deep drops by side. The duration of trekking from Upper Ahobilam temple is around 2 hours one way. This trek needs good physical strength. No food or water is available after Upper Ahobilam, so better to carry from Upper Ahobilam itself.

The pillar was scrambled to debris when Narasimha emerged out of anger to protect His devotee from the clutches of Hiranyakashipu. When Narasimha kept His first step on the ground, it tumulted 366 varieties of sounds trebling at a high decibel. Out of which only 8 sounds are used as Ragas on this planet earth and the remaining ragas are used in the heavenly planets.

PRAHALADA BADI
The small shrine, situated in a cave on the hill, is in between Ugra Sthambham and the Upper Ahobilam. It is dedicated to Prahlada Narashimha Swamy. The Idol of the Prahlada is carved in a small cave.
This cave is behind the Malola Narasimha Temple in Upper Ahobilam. It is a 0.4 km walk from Malola Narasimha temple through the forest and the narrow path of the cliff. There is a cavern in this cave. When demons threw Prahlada from the cliff, Prahlada fell through this cavern of the rock and was held by Lord Narayana. Around this cave, young Prahlada wrote ‘om namo narayana’ and ‘om namo bhagavate vasudevaya’ on the rocks. Devotees can still those transcendental letters.
