Amazing Things To Do In The Thousand Islands Canada

Exploring the St. Lawrence River is AWESOME! We've literally road-tripped from the Gulf of St. Lawrence all the way down to the mouth of the river at Lake Ontario.

One of our favorite sections of the Ontario side of the river has got to the Thousand Islands between the cities of Kingston and Brockville.

If you're planning a family road trip and are looking for great things to do in the Thousand Islands, check out these amazing attractions such as Upper Canada Village, renting boats and exploring the islands, camping in Thousand Islands National Park, and OF COURSE, experiencing the magical Thousand Islands castles.

If this inspires you to hit the road and explore the Thousand Islands yourself, check out these links for more information on how to plan your Thousand Islands trip.

Gananoque: The Canadian Gateway to the 1000 Islands

Holiday your way in beautiful Gananoque Ontario, the Canadian gateway to the 1000 Islands! Stay, unwind, and discover all the ways you can experience the glorious 1000 islands region - start your planning at

Things to do in the 1000 Islands

Here's how to plan the perfect Thousand Islands getaway with tips from @msurlaroute:
1) A cruise in the Thousand Islands is a must. This is the best way to admire the magnificent houses and castles of the region.
2) To continue exploring on the water, a kayak tour with 1000 Islands Kakaying is in order. You can join a group or explore on your own. Will you be able to find the shipwreck?
3) After exploring on the water, it's time to see the islands from the air. First go to the Thousand Islands Tower which will allow you to admire the landscape at more than 400 feet in height.
4) And if you want even more, take flight with Fly 1000 Islands and admire islands and castles from helicopter.
5) Get your feet back on the ground with a hike in Landon Bay. I recommend the Lookout trail.
5) Finally, if you are looking for a place to sleep, I have two recommendations for you: an OTentik tent at Parks Canada for glamping enthusiasts, and the Gananoque Inn for a bit of history and comfort.
