Blackpool South MP Scott Benton has urged PM Boris Johnson to back a campaign encouraging people to holiday near to home this year, inviting him to launch it here in Blackpool when the time's right.
Boris obviously has a lot of affection for the Blackpool area, he's expecting it to be at the front of UK tourism recovery after the long shutdown due to the covid pandemic. The UK tourism industry has taken a battering this year and it needs all the help it can get.
We think Blackpool will lead the way in this years staycation boom. The UK tourism recovery should be well under way by June. Make 2021 the year when you rediscover the delights of a UK holiday.

Central Cleveleys beach is what's classed as a bathing beach. This means that you CAN'T take you dog there during the summer season. It's all to do with water quality for people (and dogs) who paddle, dip and swim, AND to provide a better environment for the wildlife that lives in the sea. St Annes Promenade Gardens | Waterfall and Grotto Walking Tour
Take a look around in this St Annes Promenade Gardens waterfall and grotto walking tour video. Start at the southerly end near to the Beach Cafe and walk round the winding paths in the direction of the pier. Take a close up look at the pond, paths, wildlife and features. Filmed on 1 July 2021.
St Annes promenade gardens stretch the full length of the seafront from the car park at the Beach Cafe to the Pier. There's plenty to do here for a traditional family day at the seaside.
