BEST CITY IN THE USA? The Perfect Day in Seattle!
Traveling with friends is always a treat, but when one of those friends is also a born-and-raised LOCAL - you’re in for the perfect day! After living in Seattle, Washington for one month, our friends Maggie (@This or That) and Bryan travelled from Dallas to join us and Jerome (@Oh Its ROME) for all the best things to do and see in Seattle!
We started the day off properly for coffee and breakfast at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery before making a quick stop off at Seattle’s Pike Place Market. After the market, we explored the Fremont neighborhood where we lived for a month during our time in Seattle. First up was the infamous Fremont Troll who lives under the bridge. Don’t forget to pay the Toll Troll during your visit! Afterwards, we walked around and explored the Fremont neighborhood, which quickly became our favorite neighborhood in Seattle.
Next, we walked along the waterfront trail to Gasworks Park to take in some of the best views of Lake Union and Seattle’s downtown skyline. We recommend a sunset picnic at Gasworks during your visit or going on frequent walks there to really take in the community on land and water. With all the walking, we worked up an appetite and were hungry! So, we went to get one of the best sandwiches in Seattle at Paseo. They are dishing out meat and vegetarian Caribbean style sandwiches that are delicious and full of flavor! We definitely recommend a stop when in town.
You cannot miss Kerry Park when in Seattle. Kerry Park has the best view of the Seattle skyline - period. So do as we did and grab a scoop from Molly Moon Ice Cream before walking through the beautiful neighborhood of Queen Anne to Kerry Park. You can get that perfect photo of the Space Needle and really take it all in!
If you’re in Seattle you just can’t skip an afternoon on the water. Grab a boat - or a tour guide - and cruise Lake Union! Lake Union is an active seaplane runway so there will be plenty of action as you enjoy the ride. Scope out the floating houses - including the houseboat featured in Sleepless in Seattle! This was a major highlight of the day!
Round off all that excitement with sips at Fremont Brewing beer garden. This place is huge and has plenty of space for everyone AND their dog! This is the best place to grab a beer in Seattle! We recommend the stout. Finally, go enjoy dinner on the water at Lake Union! We went to Wayward and had the perfect dinner overlooking the lake and boats as the sun set.
After watching this, we hope you see why Seattle, Washington is easily considered one of the best cities in the U.S.!
