Edmonton was easily the coldest place we'd visited at that point though it has to be said, their summers are also pretty warm - effectively Edmonton does seasons right...but I digress. Fort Walsh National Historic Site - Saskatchewan, Canada
Fort Walsh is a historic Canadian site, located in Saskatchewan's Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. Originally built as a Northwest Mounted Police fort, it was constructed by inspector James Morrow Walsh and thirty men of the B Troop in June 1875.
Today, Fort Walsh is open to the public and serves as a popular tourist destination. Join acting site manager, Royce Petty John, on a tour of the facilities and activities -- which include guides in period costume, interactive interpretative programming, a cook tent and even a military drill reenactment.

Prince Albert: Saskatchewan's Most Northern City In -40C
The city of Prince Albert is the gateway to the north of Saskatchewan. It is the province's third largest city and was one of my favorite places to go growing up. A lot has changed since I was last there, but what hasn't changed is just how COLD the temperature can be during the frigid Sask winters. It was hovering around -40 degrees celsius the day we were there, so it made filming extremely difficult.
