It's great to be able to stretch our legs and our eyes again after lockdown here in the UK!
This is our tentative first steps to getting back to normal following the UK wide lockdown, a short break in our caravan. Being in our own caravan we were able to safely keep our distance but still enjoy the countryside, we used all our onboard facilities and took our own supplies to avoid any unessential contact.

We took a day trip out of Harare & stumbled upon this beauty! | DOMBOSHAVA CAVES
Welcome back to my channel. In this very short episode, I am taking you to Domboshava Caves in the district of Domboshava. Located just 30km north of Harare, the caves are a must-visit with attractions including ancient rock art, natural glowing streams, geological formations, and an interpretive center. 'Dombo' means rock and 'Shava' means light brown. The name in itself describes the scenery.
You can be sure to enjoy an exhilarating hike as you make your way up to the peak. The hike time depending on ability takes approximately 1 hour for beginners. If you plan to visit later in the day then it's highly recommended to hike up closer to the golden hour so you observe a breathtaking sunset.

Harare is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. The city was founded in 1890 by the Pioneer Column, a small military force of the British South Africa Company, and named Fort Salisbury after the UK Prime Minister Lord Salisbury. Company administrators demarcated the city and ran it until Southern Rhodesia achieved responsible government in 1923. Salisbury was thereafter the seat of the Southern Rhodesian (later Rhodesian) government and, between 1953 and 1963, the capital of the Central African Federation. It retained the name Salisbury until 1982, when it was renamed Harare on the second anniversary of Zimbabwean independence from the United Kingdom. Long the commercial capital of Zimbabwe, Harare has seen economic ups and downs since the 2000s. It remains an important center of commerce, government, finance, real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, design, education, art, culture, tourism, agriculture, mining and regional affairs. Harare has the second-highest number of embassies in Southern Africa and serves as the location of the African headquarters of the World Health Organization, which it shares with Brazzaville.

The origins of the name “Mabvuku” are not very certain. Possibly from the Shona “bvuku”, ideophone for “emerging”, to denote the water sprouting out of the numerous swamps in the area. Ma (“place of”) + bvuku (“emerging waters”) is a plausible etymology. Mabvuku was the home of the VaShawasha people before colonization. The Shawasha people of the Soko Mbire clan settled in this area about 300 years ago. Mabvuku, as opposed to the present day site of Chishawasha, is the native home of these people. The present site of Chishawasha village became prominent with the establishment of the oldest Catholic Mission Church there. The ancestors of the Shawasha people are commemorated in the street and road names of Old Mabvuku, namely, Tingini, Godzonga, Marembo, Chauruka, Nyamare, Nyahuni, Chatezwi, Nzvere and Shambare.

The Kariba Dam is a double curvature concrete arch dam in the Kariba Gorge of the Zambezi river basin between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The dam stands 128 metres tall and 579 metres long. The dam forms Lake Kariba, which extends for 280 kilometres and holds 185 cubic kilometres of water.
Lake Kariba is the world's largest man-made lake and reservoir by volume. It lies 1,300 kilometres upstream from the Indian Ocean, along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe
