It is named after the character Alfred, Lord Tennyson‘s Idylls of the King. Enid is known as “Queen Wheat City” and “Wheat Capital” of Oklahoma and the US. It is due to the immense storage of grain in the city. It even holds the third largest grain storage capacity in the world.
