Abandoned Pittsburgh Harmony Butler Railway Streetcar line Ellwood City Pennsylvania
Pittsburgh, Harmony, Butler and New Castle Railway
The railway was developed by business partners Russel H. Boggs and Henry Buhl as an adjunct to their department store in Pittsburgh. Mr. Boggs already had a business relationship with many of the farms between Evans City and Pittsburgh and proposed exchanging the right of way across their land for one dollar, a guaranteed trolley stop and an electricity supply.[2] The first trolley ran to Ellwood City on 2 July 1908. At the southern end of the line Pittsburgh Railways took over the trolley for the run into Pittsburgh, as the final few miles was over their rails. In 1914 an extension along the Beaver Valley was opened. This left Ellwood City heading south west and crossed the Beaver River on Koppel Bridge which was built for the purpose. This bridge also carried vehicle and pedestrian traffic and was subject to a toll.

Historic Town Tour | Midwest - Dekalb & Sycamore, IL
Walking and driving tour through historic small Midwest towns, Dekalb & Sycamore Illinois. Dekalb has two historic districts, Huntley Park and Ellwood North Fifth Ward, while Sycamore has one, Sycamore Historic District, which contains approximately 187 contributing properties. Our video tour takes us through portions of all three of these districts with styles Italianate, Victorian, Queen Anne, Second Empire, Classic Revival, Colonial Revival, Art Deco, Romanesque and more. Dekalb is also home to Northern Illinois University, although not included in our tour, the campus also contains numerous historic buildings.

Hell's Hollow Waterfall Adventure - McConnell's Mill State Park
In today's journey we will travel to the western side of PA near the town of Ellwood City, which features a beautiful park full of adventures to be had. Hell's Hollow is a short 0.4 mile hike to the falls itself (located within McConnell's Mill State Park). This sandstone gorge was formed over 300 millions years ago and the remnants of an old mine as well as a limestone kiln can be found along the trail. Spring in New York City | Condé Nast Traveler
DeKalb Sycamore Illinois Route 23 drone flight ( Ellwood House to Culvers )
Location: Dekalb, Sycamore-Northern Illinois
A 2021 drone flight down Sycamore road / Route 23.
This drone flight starts at the the Ellwood house in DeKalb, just next to the Clinton Rosette middle school and heads Northeast up Sycamore Rd. (Rt 23) towards Culvers in Sycamore.
It's about 4.7 miles between the Ellwood House and Culvers restaurant.
I tried my best to make this look like one continuous flight , however it was actually spliced from four separate flights as I moved northward.
This footage was shot on September 18th 2021 using the DJI Mavic Air 2, Smart controller and ND15 lens filter.
As you can see the lawns are very brown as we're in the middle of a
severe drought here in Northern Illinois. Normally the grass is lush and green, but not this year.
The area has changed so much and if you used to live in DeKalb or Sycamore and want to see the changes, you might enjoy this.

Cool and Cheap things to do in Virginia
Virginia Wrap! We spent 2 weeks in Virginia and started our adventures having the windshield on Maggie the RV repair from 2 rocks that hit it while we traveled through Pennsylvania. Virginia is a great state with tons of history from the battlefields of the Civil War to the Presidents that were born there. We even got to see the grave of Stonewall Jackson's arm, yes just his arm is there.The real highlight of our visit was going down to Richmond, VA and explore Belle Isle. It is an island in the city on the James River and it so much fun to see. The other big adventure we did was head back over the Potomac River, into Maryland to go and it explore Mallows Bay. It is home to the largest collection of shipwrecks in the Northern Hemisphere. Our total cost for all this entertainment was ZERO dollars. Everyplace we went was free to visit.

THE UKRAINE CITY THAT NEEDS SOME LOVE!
My Ukraine adventures continued with a short stay in the University city of Chernivtsi.
After an uneventful stay in Kolomyia, I was looking forward to a place that had a bit more life. My first impressions of Chernivsti were good. Coffee shops, restaurants and bars were in abundance and there were enough attractions to keep me occupied for a couple of nights.
Unfortunately, there were parts of the city that were very run down and needed some money spent on it. You will see the state of some of the roads and the area round St Mary's Square.
Despite that, Chernivsti is a beautiful city with some wonderful cathedrals and an outstanding university.
