Brighouse is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, in West Yorkshire, England. Historically within the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated on the River Calder, 4 miles east of Halifax. Brighouse is served by Junction 25 of the M62 motorway and Brighouse railway station on the Caldervale Line and Huddersfield Line. In the town centre is a mooring basin on the Calder and Hebble Navigation.
The name Brighouse (or Bridge House) originates from a building on (or close to) the bridge over the River Calder. In its early history, it was a hamlet of the nearby village of Rastrick. Brighouse is twinned with Lüdenscheid in Germany, the link beginning with an exchange by Brighouse Children's Theatre in 1950 followed by a civic twinning charter in 1960.
The Halifax and Huddersfield Turnpike Act of 1823 allowed for the building of Calder Bridge, or Brighouse Bridge, over the river on what was to become the A641 road; tolls were abolished on the bridge in 1875 and extensive widening work was undertaken in 1905 and 1999 (both of these latter dates being commemorated in dedication stones on the bridge).
Brighouse is situated between Halifax, Ripponden and Brighouse (entailing Elland, Stainland, Holywell Green and Greetland). The town's mills are currently undergoing an extensive programme of renovation, becoming loft style apartments. Brighouse Library is a large building and in addition to its normal lending library services provides facilities for language courses; internet access and fax facilities. Like most public buildings wheelchair access is provided. There is also a small cafe and a lift for access to all floors.
The main shopping streets are Commercial Street and Bethel Street. Shops include Wilko, Boyes, Czerwik (a specialist cheese and wine shop), Lords PhotoDigital, Harrison Lord Gallery & Studio, Domino's Pizza, Just Books, Design 55, Superdrug, Boots, Hallmarks, Thorntons, M&Co and Jack Fulton. Additionally there is a Sainsbury's. In early 2000, a financial agreement made between Tesco and Brighouse Sports Club, allowed for a huge new Tesco superstore to be built on the site of the former club, and the old Tesco became Wilkos. The deal also enabled the sports club to build new premises almost a mile away (1.5 km) on land at Russell Way, Bailiff Bridge.
The A641 northward links Brighouse with Bradford and southward with Huddersfield. The A644 runs eastward out of Brighouse to Junction 25 of the M62 and Dewsbury. In the opposite direction, the A644 leaves Brighouse to the north-west towards Hipperholme, where it crosses the A58 Leeds-Halifax road, and continues through Queensbury to meet the A629 for Keighley. The A643 and A6025 provide less important local links, although the A643 is an alternative route through to Leeds. A bypass, originally called Elland Road, then renamed Lüdenscheid Link in the 1980s, after Brighouse's twin town in Germany, was constructed in the 1970s to clear heavy traffic from the narrow streets in the town centre.
Brighouse railway station reopened in 2000 and provides the town with access to the National Rail network. All services are sponsored by Metro and provided by Northern. The current service is part of both the Huddersfield Line and the Caldervale Line, with services on the Huddersfield Line between Leeds and Manchester Victoria and services on the Caldervale Line between Leeds and Wakefield Westgate via Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield. Direct services to London Kings Cross are also available, with four services per day provided by Grand Central.

Situated in West Yorkshire in the north of England is the city of Leeds.
It was built around the River Aire which in turn connects with the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, which opened in the early 19th century as a means of trading commodities between these industrial cities.
The architecture is typically a blend of Victorian (e.g. Leeds Corn Exchange, Leeds Town Hall) and modern (e.g. Bridgewater Place, visible from Dock Street after the 6-minute mark).
Leeds hosts various sporting venues, primarily: Elland Road, southwest of the city centre, home to Leeds United Football Club, and Headingley Stadium - a stadium complex northwest of the city centre, home to Leeds Rhinos (Rugby League) and Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

HALIFAX | A Full tour of Halifax City Centre in West Yorkshire England from historic Piece Hall to Halifax Town Hall. A 4K Walking Tour!

We take a walk around Halifax West Yorkshire to see what this city centre is like and what's happening there.
Our route takes us from the historic Piece Hall along Westgate and up to Westgate Arcade, then along Southgate and past Albion Street and down to Corn Market.
We also take in Old Cock Yard, Russel Street, and Cheapside before coming to The Old Arcade and Old Market and then onto Halifax Town Hall.
There are lots of little shopping centres and arcades along the way including Arcade Royale and Albany Arcade which was closed when we filmed sadly.
Halifax West Yorkshire is a town in Calderdale in the North of England. Halifax is actually situated in the South East of the Pennines and close to Bradfield and Huddersfield.
Some of the tourist attractions in Halifax include the Halifax Piece Hall which is an old wool and cloth market where cloth and woollen items were bought and sold.
We also see Borough Market which is an old covered shopping market, and also we check out Halifax Town Hall which still houses the council here.
The town does have sports teams too with Halifax Town being the local football team, and Halifax Panthers being the rugby team of note here. in Halifax UK.
Halifax City Centre is no different to most British or English towns. It has high streets with shops, bars, restaurants, offices and businesses as well as takeaways, stores and markets. Very similar to most British City Centres.

In this walking tour we try and show you the best of Halifax England whether it be the stunning Piece Hall (which really did impress me a lot!) to all the older buildings and historic buildings here.
When we film our walks we like to take our time and wander along the streets and roads of towns and cities we have never visited before, to find the local tourist attractions and find out what makes tourism tick in these places.
As we travel to these places we don't do any research because we want our channel to be one where we film a 4K walk, but we do it where we are surprised by the things we see at the same time you are.
I hope if you take anything away from this video it's that you have seen what it is like in Halifax 2021 and that you would want to come here.

Leeds Walk: Outside Elland Road | Leeds United F.C.【4K】
We take a special tour around Elland Road, home to Leeds United Football Club. Built in 1897, it has been the home of Leeds United ever since their formation in 1919. At a capacity of 37,890 it is, at the time of writing, the 14th largest football stadium in England.
Elland Road has four stands: the Don Revie Stand (north), the John Charles Stand (west), the Norman Hunter South Stand and the East Stand. Just outside the East Stand are statues of former Leeds and England manager, Don Revie, and former player and later manager of Leeds, Billy Bremner, both seen in the video.
HOW TO GET TO THE STADIUM:
If coming in from Leeds station, the easiest way to get here is to take the matchday shuttle bus, numbered R2, departing from Sovereign Street adjacent to the station. It departs 90 minutes before kick-off and runs at frequent intervals. Alternatively bus numbers 51, 52 and 55 travel from Leeds city centre to Elland Road.
It is possible to walk from the station, although it does take around 40 minutes. The area is not generally the most pedestrian-friendly, but from working on this video I found a route where you can safely reach the stadium on foot. Here is the route on Google Maps:

I remember the first time I went to the cinema and there was no intermission! (I'm sure it was watching Indiana Jones). I was absolutely gutted, I find it very difficult sitting still for 2 hours, plus having an ice cream at half time was the best part!
Now I've discovered there's a cinema that still does this, the Rex in Elland! Not only do they have an intermission, they also sell hot drinks in real mugs, and some days there's even an organist!
So why not visit them next time you go to the flix!
About Elland - Elland is a market town in Calderdale, in the county of West Yorkshire, England. It is situated south of Halifax, by the River Calder and the Calder and Hebble Navigation. Elland was recorded as Elant in the Domesday Book. The town's name is derived from the Old English meaning 'land by the water, river or land partly or wholly surrounded by water'. The Leeds extension of the Dales Way follows the Meanwood Valley Trail before it branches off to head towards Ilkley and Windermere. Leeds is on the northern section of the Trans Pennine Trail for walkers and cyclists, and the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal is another popular walking and cycling route. The White Rose Way walking trail to Scarborough begins at City Square. In addition, there are many parks and public footpaths in both the urban and rural parts of Leeds, and The Ramblers' Association, YHA, and other walking organizations offer sociable walks. The Ramblers' Association publishes various booklets of walks in and around Leeds.
