Korça is the city where the largest carnival in Albania is organized, taking place before Orthodox Easter.
Korça is one of the largest and most important cultural and economic centers of Albania, located in the southeastern part of the country.
The city is known for its typical quarters, composed of low houses and villas, which are paved with cobblestone. The city of Korça has a range of museums such as the Education Museum (located in the building where the first Albanian school opened in 1887), the renewed National Museum of Medieval Art (to visit absolutely), the Prehistoric Museum, the House-Museum of the famous landscape painter, Vangjush Mio, the Museum of the Oriental Art “Bratko”, Gjon Mili Photography Museum etc. In the vicinity of the city is the cemetery of French soldiers fallen during the First World War.
The Theatre Cajupi is also a place to see concerts or theatre performances depending by the season .
Apart from the museums and monuments, Korça is the city where the largest carnival in Albania is organized, taking place before Orthodox Easter. Musically, the city is known for the local songs, called serenata. In the city you will find many taverns with tasteful traditional cooking such as various types of pie which perfectly combines with the good music and the traditional drink, raki.
Korça is a very good base for exploring many tourist points located in the nearby mountains such as Voskopoja, Dardha, Vithkuqi and Boboshtica. These villages are well known for offering the possibility to practice many outdoor sports and activities. The area is also famous for the Byzantine churches of Vithkuqi and Voskpoja, whose walls were painted by famous medieval Albanian painters. Close to Korça you can visit Prespa Lake (which is the country’s largest National Park), Drenova National Park, the Illyrian tummulus of Kamenica, etc.

Au 13ème siècle la ville de Rijeka de St Vid est mentionnée pour la première fois dans des documents écrits des marchands vénitiens. Au 15ème siècle la ville de Rijeka est sous le gouvernement de Friedrich III Habsbourg jusqu'à la fin de la 1ère guerre mondiale. A la fin du 18ème siècle la tsarine Marija Terezija a décidé que la ville de Rijeka devint Corpus separatum, la ville qui ne dépend pas des pays qui l'entourent, mais directement dépendant à la couronne d'Autriche.
Au 19ème siècle Ban Josip Jelacic a attaqué la ville de Rijeka, il a la direction de la ville en fondant la Région de Rijeka. Donc, Rijeka est de nouveau Corpus separatum, mais cette fois-ci sous la couronne d'Hongrie et cela jusqu'au 1918. En 1920, pendant la première guerre mondiale, on a proclamé l'Etat Libre de Rijeka. En 1924 l'Etat devint la partie d'Italie. Après la deuxième guerre mondiale, la ville de Rijeka devint la partie de la Croatie ou la Yougoslavie. En 1922 Rijeka fait partie de la Région primorsko-goranska.

Above all, Rovinj is a beautiful city. It's also the most bike-friendly place I've ever been to, with amazing bike paths and beaches. Also, in high season, you can expect lots of fun and events in and around the city. And you won't have accommodation problems as there are many hotels, resorts, camps, apartments, etc. Highly recommended for everyone (young, old, teenage, families). You should also know that nudist beaches are common, easily accessible and poorly marked (nudists don't mind but you might :)) and even (unofficial) swingers/sex/gay beaches which aren't marked at all, so you should ask around. Whether to avoid them or to find them is up to you. ;) I just wish someone gave me that warning...
In this video, I'll take you down the incredible bike paths to the South, by the beautiful beaches, then through the city itself. I will also show you the amazing Old town, all the way to the top. And no, there's nothing inappropriate shown in this movie.

Usually calm port, on that day strange circumstances brought together and formed storm of the century as said by local old folks.
Waves were coming from North-West, called TRAMONTANA (the worst wind for west coast of Istria) and were very high for this place. I hope you understand the force of the sea, if you dont- look at this video for smallest evidence but great force.
This restaurant I enter in the video is my granpa's and suffered enormous damage of water on electrical machines and fisical work to renovate.

Kroatien Sommertrip VLOG | Sonne, Berge, Strand und historische Altstädte
Dieses Mal verschlug es uns aufgrund der anhalten Reisebeschränkungen wieder einmal für unseren Sommerurlaub nach Kroatien, wo ich als Kind schon gerne war. Wir besuchten also Rovinj, Pula, Porec, die Tropfsteinhöhle Jama Baredine, Opatija, die Plitvicer Seen, Skradin, den Krka Nationalpark, Sibenik, Split, den Strand Punta Rata sowie die wunderschöne Trauminsel Hvar. In Kroatien hat man alles was das Herz begehrt: Nationalparks, wunderschöne Landschaften, schöne Altstädte, Meer, Strand, Partyleben und auch Berge.
Ich muss allerdings sagen, dass ich am Anfang vielleicht ein wenig zu Geschwätzig und am Ende ein wenig heißer war.
Abschließend zu unserer Reise lässt sich sagen, dass Kroatien auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert ist. Die Preise in den Touristengegenden sind jedoch auch schon auf ein ordentliches, mit Deutschland vergleichbares, Niveau angestiegen.

#9 - Istria, Croatia - Opatija to Mošćenička Draga (09/2011)

See the entire trip from Opatija to Mošćenička Draga in Istria, Croatia. The speed is just right to really experience this part of the coast. Mošćenička Draga is one of the most popular beaches in eastern Istria (nudist section not included in this video :)). It is named by an old hilltop town called Mošćenice, a really beautiful and a must see (not in this video, sorry), located on a hill above the beach.

Tiha Lounge Bar, Hvar
Die kroatische Insel Hvar ist eben Hvar - wie die Einheimischen gern betonen. Und über den oft genutzten Vergleich mit den St. Tropez der Adria ist man zwar nicht gerade begeistert, andererseits aber auch ein bißchen stolz. Wenn im Sommer die Megayachten am Pier festmachen und jede Menge A-Promis unter dem Blitzlichtgewitter der allgegenwärtigen Paparazzi an Land entlässt, versteht man die Bezeichnung vielleicht ein wenig besser. Doch mit den Clooney’ s & Co. verliert die Insel ein Stück weit ihre Identität.
Außerdem: Das Carpe Diem zählt wohl zu den angesagtesten Clubs in Kroatien, wenn nicht in der gesamten Adria-Region. Die deutlich hörbare Beschallung bis in die frühen Morgenstunden kommt bei Skippern aber gar nicht gut an, die meiden mittlerweile diesen Landstrich.
Doch es gibt sie noch, die kleinen ruhigen, meist liebevoll ausgestatteten Restaurants und Konobas, die sich wohltuend von den Begehrlichkeiten der Schönen und Reichen abheben und ihre Besucher für einen Moment das mondäne Flair der Sonneninsel vergessen lassen. Die Tiha Lounge Bar in der Bucht Luka Tiha passt genau in dieses Bild vom ursprünglichen Hvar. Hier wird einfach geankert, niemand erscheint, um abzukassieren. Setzt man die ersten Schritte an Land, erscheint es einem wie ein riesiger Abenteuer-Spielplatz, zusammengesetzt aus Utensilien der Strandräuberei und dem, was die teilweise karge Landschaft sonst so hergibt. Doch das Gesamtarrangement strahlt auf den zweiten Blick eine gewisse Gemütlichkeit aus, die auch die Philosophie der Tiha Lounge Bar widerspiegelt: Einfach mal die Seele baumeln lassen und genießen. Da eignet sich das besondere Ambiente, das eine perfekte Symbiose mit der Natur eingeht, so hervorragend, dass einem der Abschied schwer fällt.
Bis es soweit kommt, hat man meist schon einen Streifzug durch die Speisekarte unternommen, die hervorragenden Weine im Schein der untergehenden Sonne genossen und bei den süßen Dessert-Verführungen ganz eindeutig die Grenzen der persönlichen Nahrungsaufnahme erreicht. Nach einem „Absacker“ an Bord steht einer friedlichen Nacht abseits des Trubels nichts mehr im Wege.
