Romanian Wine from Dragasani Wine Region
Exotic Wine Travel explores Romanian wine in the Dragasani wine region. This is a dynamic wine region dominated by small wine producers. The most important white wine grape is Cramposie Selectionata and Negru de Dragasani (Black from Dragasani) for red wine grape. Besides these two local varieties, you can also find Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala, Tamaioasa Romaneasca, Muscat Ottonel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Feteasca Neagra. The Dragasani wine region has sufficient wine tourism facilities, where visitors can stay in the region for several days to learn and enjoy the Romanian wines of Dragasani.

Buying Mystery Wine in Romania & Talking with Locals in Sibiu | Romania Travel Guide
What do you do when you walk past a cramped, dark, cold room with an old man selling mystery wine? In our case, we walk in, try to have a conversation, and buy whats on offer!
One of the most hilarious interactions I've had with Romanian locals on my Romanian backpacking trip was in Sibiu, Romania. I didn't speak Romanian, and they didn't speak English, but it somehow worked out! Watch the full video to see us return a few times, and meet more of the old man's mates.
By the way, the Romanian wine was delicious! Definitely recommend traveling to Sibu and checking this local homemade wine cellar out .

Road cycling Transfagarasan will put a big smile on your face. The road surface is good on the North Side, the scenery is impressive and the climb is not that difficult (5.8% average slope). Transfagarasan road is open each year usually between June to November.
It is one of the highest and most beautiful cycling climbs in Romania so we highly recommend you to give it a try ! Let us know in the comments if you ever been to Transfagarasan , by bike or just by driving on it.

Some quick info about cycling Transfagarasan:
- North side climbing Strava Segment: 23km long, 1.382m of altitude gain, 5.8% average slope
- Starting altitude: 650m, top of the climb at 2030m
- Tour de France winner, Egan Bernal, has climbed it in 58min 09 sec (2017)
- Transfagarasan means Trans + Fagaras mountains (that are part of the Romanian Carpathians)
- There is also a South side that you can reach by passing a 1km tunnel, near Balea Lake at 2030m of altitude
The Transfagarasan Highway is a popular destination for road biking enthusiasts due to its challenging terrain and stunning natural surroundings. Located in Romania, the highway winds its way through the Carpathian Mountains and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Depending on your route, you may have the opportunity to see a variety of landscapes, from dense forests to rolling hills and picturesque valleys. It all started on July 4th—symbolic of freedom and independence in my home country, USA. I set off alone on my trusty BMW F650GS Dakar motorcycle to travel the world. I didn’t know exactly where I’d go or how long it would take. After three years traveling through thirty-five countries and five continents, I returned home in California and wrote the book that documented that adventure in stories, photos, and recipes: FORKS: A QUEST FOR CULTURE, CUISINE, AND CONNECTION.
Then came a one-year cross country book tour in his legendary “FORKS Van,” then a television show on THE COOKING CHANNEL, inspirational speaking gigs, and much more. All along, I continue to ride the world months at a time, returning home to work and save for the next segment—always leaving my motorcycle in some garage somewhere around the world.

Am fost in Dragasani sa tragem cateva cadre pentru o reclama intr-o noua spalatorie construita de Wash Italia: Bubbles Wash.
Am dat cu super spuma de cateva ori pe Jetta si am lasat si copii sa se distreze cu cateva fise. In final ne-a venit si un pic de foame si am zis sa cautam pizzeria Proper Pizza, unde ne-am si oprit si am mancat o pizza, eu cu Ileana, David a mancat un burger si Alex niste Chicken Nuggets.
