Driving Romania: DJ193 & DN1C Satu Mare - Dej - 4k scenic drive through NW Romania
We are travelling today through the North-West Romania from Satu Mare to Dej, on the county road DJ193 and the national road 1C. It is a nice varied drive, as we start in the West Romanian plains, and continue through a pictuoresque hilly area culminating at Mesteacăn Pass on DN1C. From the pass we are descending back to Someș Valley, that we will follow upstream until Dej. We are crossing 4 counties during our drive, Satu Mare, Maramureș, Sălaj and Cluj. Enjoy!

I've been exploring Romanian places since I was a little girl, but the area that I've explored the most is in the north, especially the Bucovina area. I was born in Suceava, so almost yearly I went to some place close to it that was very beautiful, for example Rarau, Palma or monasteries. I think this is one of the most beautiful regions in Romania.
I've also explored more of Romania too, when I grew up more. I've been to Brasov around 3 times, Sibiu 4 or 5 times, for example.

Is Transfagarasan road worth it?! | ROMANIA Travel Guide
Join us on our travel adventures around Europe! We continue our time in Romania, this time exploring one of the main highlights of the country: the Transfagarasan road! We also stop at the popular cities of Sibiu, Sighișoara, Turda Salt Mine (Salina Turda), and Cluj-Napoca.
We embark on the beautiful drive on the famous Transfagarasan road, cutting right through the Carpathian Mountains. We were lucky to experience the Transfagarasan road after a fresh snowfall, making it look like a winter wonderland!
The following day we explored the unique city of Sibiu, nicknamed The Town with Eyes (given its historical buildings with partly open rooftops). The name fits as many of the houses look to have eyes on them! Sibiu is a UNESCO city with lots to offer including a walk across the Bridge of Lies.
We continued our journey to Sighișoara with its beautifully preserved and UNESCO recognized old town. Amazing views even during rainy weather. Also, we couldn't miss the chance to visit the house where Dracula was born! That's right, Dracula was born in Sighișoara :P
On our way to Cluj-Napoca, we stopped at the really cool Turda Salt Mine (or Salina Turda). The Turda Salt Mine was ranked among the 25 hidden gems around the world that are worth the trek in 2013 by Business Insider. Definitely worth the visit!
Our last stop was the city of Cluj-Napoca itself. Museums, Opera Houses, Parks, Churches, and more. This city has it all!
