Huis Ten Bosch Nagasaki 4K - ハウステンボス - Japan As It Truly Is
Huis Ten Bosch is a Dutch theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki. You will feel like you are walking through a town in the Netherlands.
The detail put into the buildings is astonishing. Even some Dutch who have visited the park really feel like they are in their own country again. At least until they go inside one of the buildings, and find only the outside looks like home. Some visitors love Huis Ten Bosch while some others find it a big Potemkin village. You will also find a lot more signs in English instead of Dutch. But given how few people learn Dutch outside of Holland, it's not too much of a surprise.
But what makes Huis Ten Bosch so beautiful is during the flower seasons - like the tulips in March, or the hydrangea in June. Here you can see the hydrangea exploding in bloom all around you. And unless you are visiting Sasebo and can try something better elsewhere, you can also eat the famous Sasebo Burger, which is essentially a BLT cheeseburger with some egg salad topping.
You can also experience other amusement park rides like the Ferris wheel, zip lines, bungee jumping, water park, and other carnival type things. Night time also makes a big light show.
Japan and the Netherlands have had a trading relationship going back over 400 years, hence the creation of Huis Ten Bosch. The park was established in 1992 but went bankrupt in 2003 with a 2.2 billion yen debt. It was reorganized and is now owned by H.I.S. which is a major travel agency in Japan.
Although it is made to look like a Dutch town, you'll get a curious mix of music in various places, like Frank Sinatra's New York, New York, Domenico Modugno's Volare, and Hotel California by The Eagles. It's sorely doubtful you could have only Dutch music playing all around you (know any tunes?). But it does make you wonder who picks these things.
The music you hear was piped through around the hydrangea garden as well as the Huis Ten Bosch palace. It was hell to identify the compositions, but here it is in full hi fidelity.

Today’s video is a tour of where I live in Sasebo! I live on base on Hario which is a housing complex about 25 minutes (driving) from the Main Base.
This video is aimed towards people moving to Sasebo soon to help give them an idea of what the housing here looks like. It’s less than glamorous, but I will say I’m very happy here on Hario and enjoy the house that I am in. I have some pretty amazing neighbors and while Facebook might make it seem like the community is less than ideal, I personally have never had any complaints.
If you are moving to or live on Hario already be sure to join the Hario Community Facebook page where you can stay in the know.
As I mentioned in the video we did have an option to live on or off base and at the end of the day we picked Hario because we were able to not only move in much faster than had we picked off base (10 days!) but we also have a backyard for our dog, which is definitely harder to find off base here in Japan. The reason I stress how quickly we were able to move in is because the day after we moved into our house Jason left on deployment. For me it was important to try and tackle everything we would while he was still around so that I wasn’t left with the stress of doing it all on my own. This was one sacrifice I was willing to make and I am SO happy that I did. It was only a few weeks later that COVID hit and things got a little crazy here!
I don’t feel like I need to give a disclaimer here (as it is obvious haha) but I am clearly NOT an interior designer. We made our house and “homey” as possible and have pretty minimal decor. It’s challenging to decorate when you move every 3 years and never know what type of house you’ll be in. Moving so much also tends to deter us from buying anything too expensive because we always worry something might break during the process. I hope to eventually be in one place for longer than 3 years and trust me I will be live out my best Pinterest dreams when I do!

Karatsu City in Saga - How to get there from Fukuoka
Karatsu (唐津) is a coastal city in Saga Prefecture on Kyushu, about 50 kilometers west of Fukuoka. In the past, Karatsu was a major stop for ships making the journey towards Korea and China because it is one of the closest Japanese cities to the Korean Peninsula.
Today the city is known for its castle, the annual Karatsu Kunchi festival (November 2-4) and its local pottery. 佐賀武雄温泉の観光名所 御船山楽園 花まつり ツツジ/superb view that 200,000 azaleas flowers bloom from the flower festival held at Mifuneyama Rakuen in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture Kyushu Japan.In the Azalea valley on the side of Mt. mifuneyama, which is also a symbol of Takeo Onsen altitude of 210 meters, you can enjoy the scenery where colorful Kurume Tsutsuji and Hirado Tsutsuji bloom.In the evening, a fantastic azalea's light up is also held.

花の名所である佐賀県武雄市の御船山楽園で開催する花まつりから、20万本のつつじが織り成す春の絶景です。九州武雄温泉のシンボルでもある標高210メートルの御船山を背景に、すり鉢状の谷となっている「つつじ谷」では色とりどりの久留米ツツジや平戸ツツジが咲き誇る風景が楽しめる他、夜には幻想的な光に照らされる躑躅のライトアップも実施されます。
今回の映像では、過去に公開した4K映像の構成を変更すると共にカラースペースの変更と画素補完処理を行い、8K動画にアップコンバートいたしました。

My first Sasebo Vlog! In today’s video I’m taking you on a pretty normal Saturday around Sasebo. My husband, dog, and I have been stationed in Sasebo with the US Navy for about 10 months and in Japan for almost 4 years total. We love Japan and want to share our favorite places with you!
