The Other East End | Pudding Mill & Bow (4K)

Support my channel on Patreon
A walk from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park near the London Stadium past the East Bank development to Pudding Mill Lane. We cross the St. Thomas Creek of the Bow Back Rivers. From here we come to the Bow Flyover the and River Lea - one of the historic borderland areas of London.
There's an interesting historic building at 223 Bow Road which turned out to be a 17th Century listed building - more info here:
We then go through Bow Arts Alley to Grove Hall Park, once a Victorian private Asylum that features in Charles Dickens Nicholas Nickleby. The walk then goes back past Bow Church and along Bow High Street to St. Leonard's Priory. From here we go down St. Leonard's Street to Bruce Road and to Kingsley Hall in Powis Road. Kingsley Hall is where Mahatma Gandhi stayed when visiting Britain in 1931. He would take morning walks along the Sewerbank to Stratford and through Plaistow and West Ham.

Following the A12 Blackwall Tunnel Approach Road we find Bromley Hall, an early Tudor Manor House built in around 1485 and believed to be the oldest brick house in London.

Molesey is a suburban district comprising two towns, East Molesey and West Molesey, in Surrey, England, and is situated on the south bank of the River Thames.

East and West Molesey share a high street, and there is a second retail restaurant-lined street (Bridge Road) close to Hampton Court Palace in the eastern part of the district, which is also home to Hampton Court railway station in Transport for London's Zone 6. Molesey Hurst or Hurst Park is a large park by the River Thames in the north of the area, and is home to East Molesey Cricket Club. The Hampton Ferry runs from here to Hampton on the Middlesex bank, from where it is a short walk to the central area of Hampton.

Molesey is divided into three wards: Molesey South, East and North. The majority of Molesey's detached properties are in the east, which also contains the highest proportion of apartments of the three wards. On analysis of the 2011 census, the Civil Service identified Molesey as within Esher Built-up Area, ascribing it a total population of 50,904.

Places to see in ( Caterham - UK )

Places to see in ( Caterham - UK )

Caterham is a town in the Tandridge District of Surrey, England. The town is administratively divided into two: Caterham on the Hill, and Caterham Valley, which includes the main town centre in the middle of a dry valley but rises to equal heights to the south. The town lies close to the A22, 21 miles (34 km) from Guildford and 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Croydon, in an upper valley cleft into the dip slope of the North Downs. Caterham on the Hill is above the valley to the west. Due to its proximity to London, Caterham is a commuter town, with small-to-medium-sized businesses of its own but relatively few business/industrial parks. It has a significant area of retail and restaurants in Caterham Valley as well as pubs dotted throughout.

Caterham's church of St Lawrence is of Norman construction and retains a rector as its incumbent. In the reign of King John, Roger son of Everard de Gaist gave this including its church lands to the monastery of Waltham Holy Cross. Everard's grandfather was Geoffery of Caterham who gave land to his son in the 12th century. This monastery ran the glebe as a manor, receiving a grant of free warren in their demesne lands of Caterham in 1253; holding it until the dissolution of the monasteries.

The North Downs Way, a National trail popular with walkers, passes very close to the town and is readily accessible from either Harestone Valley Road or Tupwood Lane, the Celtic hillfort promontory of the Downs mentioned above, The Cardinal's Cap, and Fosterdown or Pilgrims' Fort, a London Defensive Fort at the top of part of the ridge forming Godstone Hill, in Caterham Valley.

Before 1889 Caterham was the most eastern market town of a Surrey that stretched north to Southwark. North eastern parts of the county were absorbed gradually, in part by the County of London in 1889 (to South Norwood and Wimbledon which as a result have London Postcodes) and then to towns and villages within the present boundaries that form Greater London in 1965. From 1885 Oxted and Godstone developed from villages to towns. Tandridge District formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by the merger of Caterham and Warlingham urban district along with Godstone Rural District.

Caterham is 21 miles (34 km) from the county town of Guildford and 15.5 miles (24.9 km) south of London. Caterham on the Hill is located on a considerable area of upland extending north past adjoining Kenley Aerodrome to Kenley and Hartley Hill in Reedham. This elevated area carries on west until Hooley/Old Merstham and forms a very narrow, fairly steep ridge south of Caterham Valley's centre; east of the centre of Caterham Valley are marginally higher rolling pastures of the North Downs on top of a more crevassed smaller mass of upland which forms the village of Woldingham followed by a much larger area of upland stretching from Biggin Hill to Downe and Knockholt, Kent.

( Caterham - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Caterham . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Caterham - UK

Epsom 4K SURREY

Epsom is the principal town of the Borough of Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, England, approximately 13.5 mi (21.7 km) south of Charing Cross and 4.75 mi (7.64 km) northeast of Leatherhead. The town is recorded as Ebbesham in the 13th century and its name probably derives from that of a Saxon landowner.Founded as a spring line settlement where the permeable chalk of the North Downs meets the impermeable London Clay, Epsom developed as a spa town in the Georgian period. The mineral waters were found to be rich in magnesium sulphate, which became known as Epsom salts.

UNUSUAL Tourist Attractions in London

London is an amazing city to visit, full of things to see and do. But sometimes you want to explore more unusual tourist attractions. This video lists some of the weirdest and most alternative tourist attractions in London.

Things covered in this video include:

- Attendant Coffee Roasters - a café located in an old Victorian toilet
- God's Own Junkyard - a completely amazing neon museum and wonderland
- The glass floor walkways of the Tower Bridge, in passages that used to be an informal red light district of London
- The original steam engines that used to draw the Tower Bridge
- The Golden Boy of Pye Corner - a strange monument to where the great fire of London was stopped
- The fake houses of Leinster Gardens
- Hidden London walk - see the closed underground tunnels beneath Picadilly Circus
- Riding the Mail Rail - a mail train through hidden passages under London
- The slightly deformed lions of Trafalgar Square - sculpted by a man with no experience, based on a decomposing dead lion
- A hidden time machine from the 19th century...inside a tomb

And even more! So, make sure you check out this video if you want to see a new side of London.

???????? SOUTH LONDON WALK, CROYDON WALKING TOUR, CROYDON HIGH STREET, WEST CROYDON STATION, 4K, Croydon has a notorious reputation for being one of the top London Boroughs when it comes to crime. The London LOOP: Coulsdon South to Ewell West 16 April 2021

A really great section of the London Loop long distance footpath between Coulsdon South and Ewell West railway stations. This walk is just over 8 miles in length, and goes via beautiful Banstead Downs and Nonsuch Park. The walk took place on Friday 16 April 2021.

Best Walks Near London - Reigate to Box Hill and Dorking - North Downs Way

This walk is around 7 miles with railway stations at either end. It is about an hour on the train from Victoria to get to which makes it a great day out in open countryside out of the city. I walk up Reigate Hill to Reigate Fort before coming out to a beautiful panaramic view of Surrey and West and East Sussex. The Surrey Hills is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and exercise, fresh air and head space time is great for your wellbeing. I pass the Betchworth Lime Kiln old quarry and film DJI Mini footage of it plus the incredible scenery and views from the North Downs Way.
