Defileul Oltului (Valea Oltului) este un defileu prin care curge Râul Olt între Lotrului și Munții Căpățânii – aflați la vest și, rama vestică a Munților Făgărașului și Munții Cozia aflați la est.
Valea Oltului a fost unul dintre drumurile romane cele mai importante din Dacia, cu o dublă funcție : militară și comercială (lega Transilvania cu Dunărea) ceea ce a impus crearea în zonă a unei unități speciale de poliție cu misiunea de a supraveghea defileul. Aici se găsește castrul roman de la Arutela. Oltul însuși în aval de defileu constituia o cale de comunicație navigabilă, dublând astfel drumul terestru. Toate acestea au determinat o puternică dezvoltare economică, reflex al unei vieți active în domeniul schimbului comercial și al producției de marfă.

Piața Unirii or Union Square in English is one of the largest squares in central Bucharest, located in the center of the city where Sectors 1, 2, 3, and 4 meet. University Square (Romanian: Piața Universității) is located in downtown Bucharest, near the University of Bucharest. It is served by Universitate metro station.
Four statues can be found in the University Square, in front of the university; they depict Ion Heliade Rădulescu (1879), Michael the Brave (1874), Gheorghe Lazăr (1889) and Spiru Haret (1932).
The Ion Luca Caragiale Bucharest National Theatre and the Intercontinental Hotel (one of the tallest buildings in Bucharest) are also located near University Square.
University Square marks the northeastern boundary of the Old Center of Bucharest.

The average US Retiree on Social Security receives $1,550 a month, and a couple on Social Security receives over $2,500 a month. A US Expat living on Social Security can expect a lower cost of living in Romania when compared to the living costs in the US.

Romania is not a member of the Schengen Agreement which makes it a great place for a non Schengen home base.
The Schengen Agreement has ruined the dream for millions around the world to slow travel through Europe. Gone are the days of crossing from Spain to France and resetting your clock in a neighboring country. If your country is not a member of Schengen you have to look at these 26 countries as one, an American can only spend 90 days out of 180 days between all 26 countries. Romania and a handful of European countries including the UK are options to live in to reset your Schengen clock. If you’re an American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, or from South Africa a Non-Schengen country like Romania should be in consideration for your investment budget. Even if you’re not choosing residency in Romania, it’s a great place to live 90 out of 180 days if you need to leave the Schengen. There are some residency options available through a few Schengen countries, but most of these require €250,000-€1,000,000 invested in or paid to the country. Italy has some options that are vaguely written and subjective to local decisions that can be inconsistent.

After some stressfull thoughts, we manage to rent a car and drive it to Corvin Castle and try to make it into the Apuseni mountains before check-in closes at our hotel!

Cozia Monastery is a beautiful monument of medieval art and architecture in Romania, located close to Călimănești, on the right bank of the Olt River, 22 km away from Ramnicu Valcea and 75 km away from Sibiu. The Monastery was built between 1386-1388, by Mircea, The Ruler Prince of Wallachia. The main Church, built in Byzantine style with local influences, is dedicated to “The Holy Trinity”. Inside the church, there are paintings that present Mircea and his son Mihail wearing knight outfits. Known as Mircea the Elder, Mircea was the Ruler Prince of Wallachia from 1386 until his death in 1418. The pronaos of the church houses the tomb of Mircea. Cozia Monastery is considered the oldest and most complex historical and art monuments from Romania.

TOP 5 GELATERII DIN TIMIȘOARA????

Bună seara dragilor si bine v-am gasit la un nou TOP pe canal. De data aceasta m-am gândit să fac TOP 5 GELATERII din TIMIȘOARA datorită valorilor termice mai ridicate din ultima vreme. Pentru a putea face o diferentă am ales astăzi să încerc doar înghețata de ciocolată.
Velocita
Această gelaterie este deschisa recent în Timișoara, mai având locații în București i Brașov. Designul interior este făcut cu gust iar partea faină pe lângă înghețată este cafeaua de specialitate marca Origo. Cupa de înghețată a costat 12 lei, puțin cam scumpă după părerea mea, dar până la urmă dai toți banii pentru o înghețată într-o zi toridă. La aceasta mi-a plăcut gustul ușor amărui și faptul că a avut 100% cacao, la ei în meniu scria 100% ciocolată dar cred că se gândeau la cacao.
Gelato di Bruno
De la aceștia am mâncat înghețată ani de zile, vara chiar stai la o coadă destul de mare pentru a te răcori puțin. Aici cupa a costat 8 lei iar gustul a fost pe măsura așteptării și pot spune că m-a dus puțin cu gândul la Florența.
Chantia
Această locația practic este un magazin cu bomboane din ciocolată belgiană, dar având în vedere că stau bine și pe înghețată am zis să o încerc. Aici cupa a costat 9 lei și a fost din ciocolată belgiană cu un procentaj de cacao de 72%, aparent îmi plac datele. Gustul pot spune că m-a dus cu gândul la nutella deoarece avea un gust ușor de alune, iar un mic minus a fost faptul că se topea destul de repede.
Gelateria Italiana
Această locație este recent deschisă iar de fiecare dată când am trecut pe lângă ei aveau terasa plină, ăsta-i semn de înghețată bună. Cupa a costat doar 7 lei, cea mai ieftină din episodul de astăzi. Mi-a plăcut mult textura și că nu s-a topit rapid iar ca gust clar s-a simțit ciocolata doar că a fost puțin cam dulce pentru gustul meu
Grazia gelato
Aici cupa a costat 9 și de data aceasta am ales să o iau la cornet. Ce mi-a plăcut a fost faptul că puteai adăuga și bomboane peste înghețată, și că mai aveau câteva deserturi italienești.
