Do Not Make these Travel Mistakes in Romania ???????? Bucharest

Romania, Bucharest: if you are traveling to Romania do not make these mistakes: 1) Do not rent an apartment in the old town of Bucharest cause you risk finding a not stable building - I'll make a specific video about that - you don't wanna be there during the super common earthquakes in that area; 2) Don't rent a scooter thinking that will be cheaper than Uber; 3) Do not travel in the weekend unless you love being stuck next to million people; 4) buy train and bus tickets in advance 5) if they have no seat on the train, ask for a standing seat and hope that you'll be lucky; 6) Subscribe to my channel for more travel tips ;)

???????? Fort 1 Chitila in Bucharest

#Bucharest #Urbex #Fortress
Around Bucharest lies a ring of 18 giant forts built in the 19th century by the Romanian Military to defend the capital from the attack. They quickly became obsolete, but they still surround the city. I visited the first one named Chitila, and explored it.

1st Fort of Bucharest Fortification, in Chitila

Chitila fort is the 1st fort built, at the order of the Romania's king Carol I of Hohenzollern at the end of XIX century, part of the fortification system surrounding Bucharest, the capital of the country. Alexandru Baluta and Emanuel Patrascioiu, some young people of a rare character, take care, voluntary, of these forts abandoned and neglected by the state authorities. Romania: A Pair of CFR Calatori Class 66 diesels leave Chitila on a Bucuresti Nord-Targoviste train

Romania: A Pair of CFR Calatori Class 66 diesels (nos. 66-1060 & 66-1326) leave Chitila working train R9113, the 1924 Bucuresti Nord to Targoviste.
Clip recorded 2nd October 2021.

Căile Ferate Române (abbreviated as CFR) is the official designation of the state railway carrier of Romania. The railway network of Romania consists of 11,380 km (7,070 mi), of which 3,971 km (2,467 mi) (34.9%) are electrified, and the total track length is 22,247 km (13,824 mi), of which 8,585 km (5,334 mi) (38.5%) are electrified. The network is significantly interconnected with other European railway networks, providing pan-European passenger and freight services. CFR as an entity has been operating since 1880, even though the first railway on current Romanian territory was opened in 1854.

CFR is divided into four autonomous companies:

CFR Călători, responsible for passenger services;
CFR Marfă, responsible for freight transport;
CFR Infrastructură, manages the infrastructure on the Romanian railway network; and
Societatea Feroviară de Turism, or SFT, which manages scenic and tourist railways.

CFR Călători, the passenger service division of CFR, operates seven types of passenger train, both on Romania's territory, with rolling stock and locomotives, or internationally, with rolling stock. Also, CFR operates international trains on Romanian territory with its own locomotives. The train types vary in terms of speed and type of rolling stock. In 2010, approximately 58 million passengers have traveled with the company. 10 million travelers have preferred private equity firms in particular on the side lines.

CFR train types are:
Regio (R) -- the trains have assigned numbers from 2000 to 9999
InterRegio (IR) -- the trains have assigned numbers from 200 to 499, 600 to 999, 1000 to 1999 and 10000 to 14999
InterCity (IC) -- numbered from 500 to 599
EuroCity (EC) -- numbered as IC trains from 500 to 599
EuroNight (EN) -- numbered as IC trains from 500 to 599
Special (S) -- tourist trains operated on scenic routes with vintage rolling stock, numbered from S1 to S9

Aside from the seven main train types, CFR also operates night trains, which can be of any status (usually Rapid, InterCity or EuroNight). Freight trains, operated by CFR Marfă, have a different numbering system.

Chitila is a town in the west of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, situated 9 km to the north west of Bucharest. It is often seen as a satellite town of Bucharest. One village, Rudeni, is administered by the town.
Chitilia is linked to Bucharest by three bus routes (r476, r469 and r402) run by STB (Society of Transport Bucharest), and the railways coming from Buzău and Ploiești.

Bucharest Romania - Gara de Nord #romania #bucharest

Gara de Nord
The station was built between 1868 and 1872; the foundation stone was set on 10 September 1868 in the presence of Carol I of Romania. The building is designed as a U-shaped structure. The first railways between Roman – Galați – Bucharest – Pitești were put in service on 13 September 1872. Between 1895 and 1896 a new wing of the station was built, which included a Royal Hall, due to the visit of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary.[1] It was initially named Gara Târgoviștei, after the road nearby, Calea Târgoviștei (Târgoviște Road, nowadays Calea Griviței), and took its current name in 1888.

The station and its surroundings were heavily bombed by the Allies in April 1944 during a campaign aimed at the Axis supply lines, since the station played an important part in the Romanian railway network and was the main departure point for troops headed to the Eastern Front (see: Bombing of Bucharest in World War II).

Under Communist times, the station received a number of upgrades, such as a footbridge (1950s or 1960s), partial electrification on 16 February 1969, and then an expansion between 1978 and 1984 and complete electrification. It is still upgraded as of today, having received a platform overhaul (replacement of tiles with asphalt from 2006 to 2010), removal of the footbridge (replaced with the Basarab Overpass in 2009) and, in 2018, replacement of the original split-flap displays with LED ones.

Non-stop information and coordination point in Bucharest North Railway Station designed to provide aid to arriving Ukrainian refugees during Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022
During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the station hosted, starting on 27 February 2022, Ukrainian refugees. Only during the first day, almost 100 Ukrainian refugees arrived with 5 trains owned by the state operation, CFR Călători, and came from the direction of Iași and Suceava. The Ukrainian citizens were immediately picked up by the station security staff and transported to the station waiting room, where a special area for refugees was arranged, and where they were offered water and food. Throughout their stay at the station, displaced persons from Ukraine received help from representatives of Bucharest City Hall and NGOs, through a non-stop information and coordination point arranged on the central platform, where volunteers who speak Ukrainian may provide additional information; information was also presented in English through loudspeakers.[2] On March 4, 2022, at midnight, about 1,000 refugees arrived from Iasi with a train set with 11 wagons, which were later transported by several buses owned by STB to be accommodated at Romexpo.

There are currently 14 tracks and 8 platforms.

As of 2009, Gara de Nord served about 200 trains, including domestic trains operated by Căile Ferate Române, Regiotrans and Trans Feroviar calatori as well international trains to Hungary – Budapest, Bulgaria – Sofia, Varna and Burgas, Republic of Moldova – Chișinău, Ukraine – Kyiv, Dnipro and Chernivtsi, Austria – Vienna, Turkey – Istanbul, Russia – Moscow and Saratov, Belarus – Minsk.

The station is served by several bus ( lines 105, 123,133,178,182,205,282 and express line 780 which links the railway station with the Henri Coandă Airport) trolleybus (65, 79 and 86 on Grivița side and 62,85,93,96 on The Columnes side) and tram lines (42,45,46 on Grivița side and 44 on Dinicu Golescu side), as well as the Gara de Nord metro station. Also, the station is connected by CFR and TFC trains to Henri Coandă International Airport.

22 de trenuri in tranzit / CHITILA

Bun gasit dragi prieteni...
Cum a luat nastere acest video format din 22 de trenuri?
Pur si simplu m-am aflat in aceste locuri ''in trecere'' (adica in ideea ca asteptam trenul meu catre casa, venind din alte zone de filmare).
