Taiyoji is a temple in the mountains of Chichibu City, Saitama, where you can stay. We had a unique experience in a secret place where we couldn't watch TV or use our smartphone. We learned the spirit of Zen through copying and reading sutras. It was a very peaceful, calm and wonderful.

I went to Chichibu during Silver Week with Chris. We rode the LaView train, saw Chichibu and Ongaku Shrine, visited muse park, saw both observatories, climbed a mountain, and ended our day with delicious food from Nakamise Street. The miso potato was so good! If you have a chance to go I recommend this place. It is only about an hour and a half from Tokyo! The perfect day trip from Tokyo.
