Experience East Belgium
East Belgium inspires visitors with its nature, its breathtaking landscapes between the Eifel and the Ardennes, whilst offering countless possibilities to experience them closely. As well as the unique landscape, there are lots of destinations and attractions to discover during your holiday.
The attractions include museums, institutions of art and culture, castles, fortresses and churches, but also some magnificent lakes and swimming pools for carefree bathing enjoyment with the whole family.
Apart from cycling and hiking, anyone wishing to stay active will find many other possibilities for doing sport and getting to know the country and its people at the same time. Well preserved monuments and landmarks bring the history of this border region to life. It is with particular pride that the inhabitants draw attention to their original products and the many traditions and regional spectacles of nature which come to life here year after year.
Each region has its own identity: in Raeren, the pottery museum resides in a moated castle. In Eupen, the capital of the German-speaking community, visitors are enchanted by the Oberstadt lined by patrician houses. Gourmets feel drawn to the inviting centre of the town, hikers to the Hertogenwald. In summer, the town of Malmedy turns into a sea of flowers. The former monastery is home to the Malmundarium, an interactive culture and visitors' centre. Bütgenbach is characterised by water and by the leisure amenities at the Worriken reservoir. The town of St. Vith stands for excellent restaurants and charming rural surroundings at the intersection between the Eifel and the Ardennes.

Just one hour from Brussels is Liege, a historical city on the river Meuse, dating back to Charlemagne. With a wonderful central location, Liege must-see sites are the Prince-Bishops’ Place, Liege-Guillemins Station, Museum of Walloon Life, Church of Saint-Jacques, and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

A trip report between two towns that are well known for their spring water and also for Spa & wellness. This is short journey on local, rather old but good working local trains.
I show you the railway station of Chaudfontaine & Pepinster where I have to change. I also show some views from the train & briefly the trains on this route. In the video from Spa to Aachen, I'll show you more details of these trains.

A great connection from Mons in Belgium to Paris in France via Aulnoye-Aymeries on intercity trains
A video that didn't went as I planned, about a route that is absolutely worth telling you about.
At the moment I did the editing of this video, new website for the French railway company SNCF has been launched, that isn't good at all in my opinion. So I thought this might also be the opportunity to reflect some of my frustrations on booking train tickets in Europe, how money is being spend on prestigious projects on Belgian stations and how other stations are not getting the maintenance they do need and why it's so important to cooperate as railway companies.
So different from my normal video's, I still hope you like it.

Очарование БЕЛЬГИИ: самый маленький город в мире, льежские вафли и потрясающий Leuven
В этой части, третьей по счёту, посетим Durbuy - cамый маленький город мира, с 500-ми жителями и самым большим парком Topiaires, посвященному искусству художественной стрижки растений из самшита (250 фигур). Заскочим в парк с инсталляциями, среди которых огромная прищепка; в Liege, с его лестницей для экстремалов, огромным вокзалом со смелой архитектурой, и самыми вкусными и правильными вафлями в мире. Покажу Musee du Silex c башней Eben-Ezer. Зайдём в прозрачную церковь, названную Читая между строк (reading between the lines) и полюбуемся красивейшим Leuven, с его потрясающей архитектурой и картошкой фри, приготовленной по исторически правильному рецепту, дважды сваренной на животном жиру.
