Is Cerkno the best ski resort in Slovenia?
Cerkno Ski Resort is the most user-friendly ski resort in Slovenia. The skiing area is open to skiers of all ages and categories, in case of lack of snow, which was the case during our visit, there are snow-making machines. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 935 and 1,287 m.
Special attention is given to the youngest skiers, so there are many activities available to them. At the top of the ski centre there is an alpine style self-service restaurant with a visitor's terrace, which offers diverse dishes based on local ingredients.

In the winter you can also experience the traditional laufarija of the Cerkno region and in the summer time the picturesque Divje babe archaeological site, hidden above the Idrijca valley, below the Šebreljska plateau, where the oldest instrument in the world, the Neanderthal bone flute, was discovered inside a Karst cave in Paleolithic layers.
Those who enjoy the white slopes in the winter, are invited to the modernly equipped Cerkno Ski Centre. We offer you well arranged accommodation in a hotel, the Cerkno Ski Centre restaurant by the ski slope, and in numerous private rooms and serviced apartments in the vicinity of the ski slope or other intact areas of the Cerkno region. During the summer you may make a stop at the Franja Partisan Hospital located in the Pasice gorge , the birthplace of the writer France Bevk in Zakojca or Italian military forst at Zakriž.

PL - Trasa ze szczytu Porezen (1630 m n.p.m.) do miejscowości Cerkno w Słowenii, którą w przyszłym roku pojadą zawodnicy startujący w Trans Julius. Po drodze napotkaliśmy szybkie single, kamienne ścianki, naturalne wąwozy, czy też techniczne zjazdy po korzeniach. Wszystko to przy idealnej pogodzie i śmiało mogę powiedzieć że był to jeden z fajniejszych zjazdów w całym moim rowerowym życiu.
ENG - Trail from the top of Porezen peak (1630 m asl) to the center of Cerkno town in Slovenia. It will be a stage of next year Trans Julius enduro MTB competition. Trail go thru amazing singletrails, then into the woods for some rock gardens, and technical root sections. We've ridden among beatiful weather and this was one of the best rides in my whole life.

Slovenia Ski Trip Feb 2022 in Kranjska Gora, was amazing place to visit. The country is so beautiful and the people is so friendly, less ski terrance than places like Switzerland, Austria, but the snow was good for the time of year, sunshine everyday. The food was amazing. We will be back one summer as there is just too much to see. Thank you Slovenia

Is the Slovenian ski resort Vogel worth a visit?
A day skiing at Vogel Ski Center in Slovenia. This ski area is located in the Triglav National Park above Lake Bohinj. It is extraordinary location and magnificent natural beauty.
From the foot of the mountain you are lifted to the altitude of 1535 m above sea level, from where you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the Triglav mountain range.
There are 22 km of not demanding pistes in total.

Skiing in sLOVEnia: Mariborsko Pohorje
My boys and I spent this past Christmas holidays in Slovenia. Apart from enjoying time with our families and re-exploring Maribor (you can see that videos here: and here: we also managed to go skiing at Maribor's home-mountain Pohorje twice.
Maribor's ski resort Mariborsko Pohorje is the largest ski resort in Slovenia and it is lovely place to ski. We picked the ski slopes at the highest part of ski resort Areh and spent great time swishing down the Pisker & Cojzerica pistes and catching up with friends.
