The Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) is a Brazilian public and federal higher education institution located in Santa Maria, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. UFSM is headquartered in Professor José Mariano da Rocha Filho University City. The campus is located in the Camobi neighborhood, km 9, ERS-509 highway, where most of the academic and administrative activities take place. There are, in the center of the city, other academic and community service units.
89 undergraduate courses are offered in Santa Maria, 8 in Frederico Westphalen, 7 in Palmeira das Missões, 6 in Silveira Martins, 5 in Cachoeira do Sul, in addition to 12 undergraduate courses in the distance learning modality. The extension of the university campus is 1,863.57 hectares, with buildings totaling 239,578 square meters, plus 42,036 square meters outside the headquarters, totaling 281,614 square meters of built area.
The institution has 25 auditoriums with a total capacity to accommodate 4,177 people. On the premises of UFSM, there are two bank branches; one from Banco do Brasil and one from Caixa Econômica Federal and a Post Office, twelve snack bars and two University Restaurants, Central Library, with 92,535 volumes (books and theses), Sectorial Libraries, with 63,783 volumes (books and theses), Multipurpose Space to host large events, Teaching Hospital, with 335 beds, Veterinary Hospital and Pharmacy-School Commercial, Museums and Planetarium.
UFSM also offers a residential area, through socioeconomic registration carried out by the Pro-Rectory of Student Affairs, with the capacity to accommodate up to 1,805 students, although such availability depends on some factors. In addition to housing, registered students can apply for transportation, food, foreign language teaching, assistance grants and paid tutoring. Due to the existence of this university, the city of Santa Maria is known as Cidade Universitária.

IGUAZU FALLS ARGENTINIAN & BRAZILIAN SIDE - HOW TO SEE IT ALL!
In this video we leave Buenos Aires on an 18 hour overnight bus and head to the North of Argentina to explore the famous Iguazu Falls. We spent a few days in Puerto Iguazu which was incredibly hot, much hotter than Buenos Aires and a lot more humid too. We ventured out in the heat to explore the stunning waterfalls within the national park and spent a few days on the Argentinian side before making our way across the border to see the falls from the Brazilian side. The experience of both was awesome and we honestly loved them both.
We saw so much wildlife and even saw animals that we had never seen in our lives walking right by us out in the wild which was a truly awesome experience, we felt so lucky to be there, also felt lucky to keep hold of our lunch as some cheeky monkeys were out to grab tourists lunch!
If you’re planning a trip to Iguazu and have time then we would recommend doing both the Argentinian and Brazilian side but if you are short on time then our advice would be to just do a day on the Argentinian side, here’s why: 80% of the waterfalls are on this side, there are more things included on this side and it’s less expensive inside the park (free water top ups everywhere in the park unlike the Brazilian side), seeing Devils Throat/Garganta Del Diablo is much more of an experience on the Argentinian side because you can get up close and feel the spray from it. The Brazilian side has it’s own benefits and does have a really great view of the falls so both is best if you have time.
After three days walking around in high humidity and heat we decided that was enough of the North of Argentina and made our way back on another long distance bus ready for some cooler adventures in the South!

Rua Padre Chagas, in Porto Alegre, in the Moinhos de Vento district, concentrates bars and restaurants that are home to one of the main strongholds of the city's nightlife.
During weekend nights everything is busier, bars and restaurants are packed. Frequented by the middle and upper classes in Porto Alegre.
One of the bars that most attract young people there is Void, a mixture of a convenience store that also sells clothes and with a built-in bar. The idea of Void emerged in Porto Alegre in 2004, through a printed magazine. But the first headquarters came almost 10 years later, between 2013 and 2014, in the neighborhood of Leblon in Rio de Janeiro. In Porto Alegre, its inauguration was in 2015.
Today Void is present in 3 capitals: Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Salve galera!!!! saindo da Praia do Paquetá que fica as margens do Rio dos Sinos em Canoas - RS , segui para outro bairro da cidade onde existe uma antiga ponte ferroviária que cruza sobre o mesmo rio. Fica em uma área que foi invadida para construção de moradias bem aos arredores dos trilhos e praticamente embaixo da ponte. Mas ainda sim existe um contraste da natureza e da obra feita pelo Homem e que vale o passeio. tive a sorte de bem na hora o trem passar puxando muitos vagões.
