Nos vamos de viaje junto contigo a la region mas BELLA de la Republica Dominicana.
La provincia de Barahona tiene muchas playas y rios encantadores, a unos 180 kilómetros de Santo Domingo, la capital de la República Dominicana. Playas de arena gris, guijarros, arena blanca que son frecuentadas principalmente por los lugareños, los habitantes de las provincias vecinas y los habitantes de la capital.
¿Qué se produce en la provincia de Barahona?
Agricultura y la producción de caña, plátanos, café, frutas, sorgo, ñame, yautía y otros, también como la extracción de minerales como Larimar, mármol, yeso, alabastro, kaolinite (para la producción de botellas), sal mineral y materias de construcción, cuentan entre las actividades principales de Barahona.
Ríos en Barahona
El principal río es el Yaque del Sur, que desemboca a pocos kilómetros al norte de la ciudad de Barahona. El segundo río de importancia en la provincia es el Nizaíto. Otros ríos, de corto recorrido, son el Palomino, Bahoruco, San Rafael, Sito y Los Patos. La laguna de Rincón o Cabral es compartida por las provincias Barahona e Independencia. Anteriormente existían las lagunas Caballero y Pescadería pero han sido desecadas ya prácticamente han desaparecido; han sido desecadas para uso agrícola y ganadero
Playas en Barahona
Hay un paisaje maravilloso a lo largo de la carretera 44, en la Costa Azul de Barahona, en la República Dominicana. De un lado la exuberante vegetación de la selva tropical de la Sierra de Bahoruco y del otro las playas de aguas azul turquesa del mar Caribe. Juan Esteban, Bahoruco, Paraíso y Enriquillo son algunos de los pueblos pesqueros que se encuentran en la costa. Las principales playas son la de San Rafael, el Quemaíto, Saladilla, los Patos y Paraíso. La de San Rafael es de las más concurridas. Sus aguas son bravas y los jóvenes se divierten con el ir y venir de sus olas.

hello hello my friends. this is a map of the beautiful dominican republic. The Dominican Republic comprises the eastern five-eighths of Hispaniola, the second-largest island in the Greater Antilles, with the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Caribbean Sea to the south. It shares the island roughly at a 2: 1 ratio with Haiti, the north-to-south border between the two countries being 376 km. To the north and north-west lie The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands, and to the east, across the Mona Passage, the US Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The country's area is the second largest country in the Antilles, after Cuba. The Dominican Republic's capital and largest city Santo Domingo is on the southern coast.
The Dominican Republic has four important mountain ranges. The most northerly is the Cordillera Septentrional, which extends from the northwestern coastal town of Monte Cristi, near the Haitian border, to the Samaná Peninsula in the east, running parallel to the Atlantic coast. The highest range in the Dominican Republic - indeed, in the whole of the West Indies - is the Cordillera Central. It gradually bends southwards and finishes near the town of Azua, on the Caribbean coast. In the Cordillera Central are the four highest peaks in the Caribbean: Pico Duarte, La Pelona, La Rucilla, and Pico Yaque. In the southwest corner of the country, south of the Cordillera Central, there are two other ranges: the more northerly of the two is the Sierra de Neiba, while in the south the Sierra de Bahoruco is a continuation of the Massif de la Selle in Haiti. There are other, minor mountain ranges, such as the Cordillera Oriental, Sierra Martín García, Sierra de Yamasá, and Sierra de Samaná.
Between the Central and Northern mountain ranges lies the rich and fertile Cibao valley. This major valley is home to the cities of Santiago and La Vega and most of the farming areas of the nation. Rather less productive are the semi-arid San Juan Valley, south of the Central Cordillera, and the Neiba Valley, tucked between the Sierra de Neiba and the Sierra de Bahoruco. Much of the land around the Enriquillo Basin is below sea level, with a hot, arid, desert-like environment. The Llano Costero del Caribe (Caribbean Coastal Plain) is the largest of the plains in the Dominican Republic. Stretching north and east of Santo Domingo, it contains many sugar plantations in the savannahs that are common there. West of Santo Domingo its width is reduced to 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) as it hugs the coast, finishing at the mouth of the Ocoa River. Another large plain is the Plena de Azua (Azua Plain), a very arid region in Azua Province. A few other small coastal plains are on the northern coast and in the Pedernales Peninsula.
Four major rivers drain the numerous mountains of the Dominican Republic. The Yaque del Norte is the longest and most important Dominican river. It carries excess water down from the Cibao Valley and empties into Monte Cristi Bay, in the northwest. Likewise, the Yuna River serves the Vega Real and empties into Samaná Bay, in the northeast. Drainage of the San Juan Valley is provided by the San Juan River, tributary of the Yaque del Sur, which empties into the Caribbean, in the south. The Artibonito is the longest river of Hispaniola and flows westward into Haiti.

There are many lakes and coastal lagoons. The largest lake is Enriquillo, a salt lake at 45 metres (148 ft) below sea level, the lowest elevation in the Caribbean.[4] Other important lakes are Laguna de Rincón or Cabral, with fresh water, and Laguna de Oviedo, a lagoon with brackish water.
There are many small offshore islands and cays that form part of the Dominican territory. The two largest islands near shore are Saona, in the southeast, and Beata, in the southwest. Smaller islands include the Cayos Siete Hermanos, Isla Cabra, Cayo Jackson, Cayo Limón, Cayo Levantado, Cayo la Bocaina, Catalanita, Cayo Pisaje and Isla Alto Velo. To the north, at distances of 100–200 kilometres (62–124 mi), are three extensive, largely submerged banks, which geographically are a southeast continuation of the Bahamas: Navidad Bank, Silver Bank, and Mouchoir Bank. Navidad Bank and Silver Bank have been officially claimed by the Dominican Republic.[citation needed] Isla Cabritos lies within Lago Enriquillo.
The Dominican Republic is located near fault action in the Caribbean. In 1946, it suffered a magnitude 8.1 earthquake off the northeast coast, triggering a tsunami that killed about 1,800, mostly in coastal communities. Caribbean countries and the United States have collaborated to create tsunami warning systems and are mapping high-risk low-lying areas.

Los Haitises National Park is one of the most important in the Dominican Republic. It can only be reached by water and is one of the main attractions for tourists. The national park near the Samana peninsula is a real magnet for visitors. The terrain is topographically very interesting and is home to a fascinating variety of plants and animals.
The hilly landscape with its tropical rainforests is home to freshwater rivers, mangrove areas, clear lagoons, stalactite caves and coral landscapes. Every nature lover will be enchanted here.
This national park is characterized by one of the most diverse flora and fauna in the Caribbean. Not all of the more than 700 different plants and flowers and the 110 bird species will be seen when you visit Los Haitises. A day trip is a must for every interested vacationer, so make a note!

La Laguna de Oviedo es una reserva natural acuática de la República Dominicana. Se encuentra en la provincia de Pedernales, dentro del Parque nacional jaragua. Cuenta con 28km² de superficie y 1.5 metros de profundidad. Según explicaciones de sus residentes, posee un agua tres veces más salada que la del mar.

Lugares que se muestran en el video:
1) Cascada del rio Mahomita 2:48 (a 15 minutos de la caseta).
2) Charco el Cajón 3:04 (5 minutos rio abajo de la cascadita).
3) Río Mahomita 3:06 (frente a la caseta).
4) Arroyo Colorao 4:04 (15 minutos de la caseta)
5) Cascadita Arroyo Grande, rio Mahomita 5:45 (en el pueblo Santana Abajo donde comenzamos y terminamos la caminata).
El Valle de Dios está localizado en el municipio de Santana en la provincia de San Cristobal, entre las lomas del Parque Nacional Montaña La Humeadora.
La caminata no es sencilla, son aproximadamente 6.7km de lomas. Digamos que los primeros 4.5km son de pura subida. El tiempo de caminata varía, en nuestro grupo hubo unos que se tomaron 2 horas y 30 minutos en llegar al Valle desde el pueblo de Santana y otros duraron 4 hora y 20 minutos.
El sendero en por si mismo es hermoso, en cada subida vemos las montañas vestidas de una vegetación y un suelo diferente, es hermoso ir viendo como todo el paisaje va cambiando frente a nuestros ojos. El bosque de pino que nos recibe antes de llegar al Valle es una cosa espectacular!!
El misterioso Arroyo Coloao', dicen que es el único rio rojo de la República Dominicana, pero eso no se los puedo asegurar, tampoco la razón de su color que todavía continúa siendo un misterio.
Para mí este arroyo es una fascinación y entiendo que el color se debe a minerales del suelo. Me encantaría que hicieran un estudio de esta agua y así podríamos saber con claridad el por qué de su color
Este #arroyocolorao se encuentra a 15 minutos caminando desde la caseta del #vallededios en el Parque Nacional Montaña La Humeadora, en el pueblo Santana del Municipio Los Cacaos de San Cristóbal.
