First episode of our Romania overland trip.
First days of our trip to Romania.

From Lacul Calinesti lake through Merry Cemetery at Sapanta and finally - first night in some remote location in the Gutin Mountains.

Maramures - traditions and folklore
Located in the heart of Europe, Maramures is a land of wooden churches, legendary treasures, breathtaking landscapes and ancient traditions. In Maramures remained intact the culture and traditional peasant life of the past. The History of Maramures is transmitted through the wooden churches. UNESCO has included eight of these churches monuments of world cultural heritage.
Day 1: Arrival in Bucuresti
Arrival to Bucharest. Transfer to a 4* hotel, centrally located.
Day 2 : Departure to Cluj-Napoca
Departure to Cluj. Stop-over in Sibiu. Lunch. Arival in Cluj-Napoca - one of the historical capitals of Transylvania. Walk in the historical center. Dinner and accommodation
Day 3 : Departure to Moisei -- Viseul de Sus
Breakfast. Departure to Moisei. Visit the Heroes Monument and Moisei Monastery, built in 1600. Departure to Borsa. Lunch. Departure to Viseu de Sus. Dinner and accommodation
Day 4: Departure to Salistea de Sus -- Botiza
Breakfast. Mocanita boarding - a small train pulled by steam locomotive - for a superb ride on Vaser Valley. On the way, stop for lunch picnic. Continue journey by coach to visit Salistea de Sus where can be visited the wooden church (1736) and then to Botiza. Dinner and accommodation
Day 5 : Departure to Poienile Izei -- Ieud -- Botiza
Breakfast. Visit the wooden church Botiza (1796), Budesti Josani (1643) - included on the UNESCO list, Izei Meadows (1632) - included on the UNESCO list. Lunch at Botiza. Then visit wooden churches Lleud Hill - included on the UNESCO list, leud Ses and Bogdan Voda. Return to Botiza. Dinner and accommodation
Day 6: Departure to Rozavlea -- Barsana -- Vadul Izei
Breakfast. Departure to Vadul Iza. On the way visit to the wooden churches Rozavlea, Calinesti, Barsana Monastery - built in 1761 and included on the UNESCO list. Lunch near the monastery. Departure to Vadul Iza. Dinner and accommodation
Day 7 : Departure to Sapanta -- Tara Oasului -- Vadul Izei
Breakfast. Departure to Sapanta. Visit the Merry Cemetery. Departure to Oas - one of the most original and beautiful ethno-folk areas in Romania, attested since 1270. Lunch at Negresti Oas. Visit the Museum of Oas. Return to Vadul Iza. Dinner and accommodation
Day 8 : Departure to Cluj -- Sibiu (European Capital of Culture in 2007)
Breakfast. Departure to Cluj. Lunch and walk in the historical center. Departure to Sibiu city that was European Capital of Culture in 2007, together with Luxembourg. Dinner and accommodation
Day 9 : Departure to Bucuresti
Breakfast. We will visit the Museum Bruckenthal where there is a significant art collection. Paltinis mountain resort trip. Lunch. Departure to Bucharest

A lovely experience in rural Maramures, a region in the north of Romania, one of the last well preserved traditional village areas in Romania. . The village is kept alive by the hand made costumes people are wearing, the hand made pear brandy, the hospitality of the people welcoming you. A trip in Maramures has to inlude the Merry cemetery, the only UNESCO cemetery in the world, where we got to speak with the carpenter who creates the crosses.
One day in the Breb village will make you understand why so many foreigners chose to call this village their home.
The villlage life in Maramures is calm and unhurried, full of wonderful scenery and mistery places where your car will even run uphill with the engine turned off.

Romania is probably the last place in Europe where you can still see unspoiled countryside, with the traditional rural civilisation still alive. Discover the northern provinces of Maramures (in northern Transylvania) or else Bucovina (in northern Moldavia), with their old handicrafts, friendly people fiercely dressed in their folk costumes, horse or oxen-drawn carriages (horse-drawn sleighs in winter), with colourful villages where time seems to have stood still. Un nou AquaPark modern va asteapta in statiunea Calimanesti-Caciulata!
Cozia Aqua Park, ofera de acum statiunii, un caracter permanent, fiind deschis tot timpul anului.
Bazinele sunt umplute cu apa termala, la o temperatura ce oscileaza intre 28 ◦C – 37 ◦C.
Parcul acvatic dispune de:
– 11 Bazine interioare si exterioare;
– Incinta incalzita;
– 8 Tobogane exterioare si 2 interioare;
– 1400 de sezlonguri;
– Restaurant cu autoservire;
Facilitati: Piscine interioare si exterioare dotate cu tobogane, instalaţii moderne de hidroterapie, jeturi de apă, jacuzzi.

Bucovina Romania S1E11 | European Tour Ireland to Romania
Episode 11 of the motorcycle European Tour 2021 from Ireland to Romania on a Harley-Davidson Road King. In this episode I am riding with the North Gang Riders across the Bucovina region from Ostra to Broșteni, then we follow the Bistrița river valley until we climb up on the Transrarăul high-way on the Rarău mountain. After a stop at the Păstrăvarul Han in Pojorâta we cross the mountains across the Palma pass and return to Suceava city for the Bucovina Motorfest. I depart Suceava by the Prislop pass riding through Cârlibaba over to the Borșa city in Maramureș

De îndată ce treci de poarta Maramureşului, peisajele îţi fură privirea: munţi împăduriţi, adăpaţi de râuri şi pâraie, dealuri îmbătător de verzi, căpiţe prietenoase ivite la tot pasul, lacuri tăcute, păşuni, cascade şi izvoare, specii florale excepţionale, toate îndemnându-te să nu mai laşi deoparte aparatul de fotografiat. Cu o avere alcătuită dintr-un parc naţional (Munţii Rodnei), un parc natural (Munţii Maramureşului) şi numeroase alte arii protejate, peisajul Maramureşului e mai mult decât înstărit: Creasta Cocoşului, Lacul Albastru, Cheile Lăpuşului sunt doar câteva dintre acestea, o sărbătoare pentru ochi, pledând convingător pentru versurile populare fredonate de maramureşeni ori de câte ori au prilejul să-şi laude meleagurile: ”Maramureş plai cu flori, mândru eşti în sărbători…”

Nuntă în Ţara Oaşului (@TVR Internaţional)
Reportaj realizat de Ana Preda, difuzat în vara anului 2017 la TVR Internaţional, despre tradiţiile şi obiceiurile de nuntă din Ţara Oaşului.
Jurnalistul Ana Preda, alături de irlandezul îndrăgostit iremediabil de România, Peter Hurley, participă la ritualul nunții oșenești, recreat în Muzeul Țării Oașului din Negrești Oaș.
Eveniment major din viața omului, NUNTA, are semnificații profunde în lumea satului oșenesc. În atmosfera plină de istorie locală a Muzeului în aer liber al Țării Oașului au fost surprinse câteva secvențe din ritualul nupțial: împletitul miresei, cusutul steagului, roata feciorilor, danțul miresei, danțul colacilor,ospățul miresei. Prin toate acestea, s-a redat imaginea autentică a nunții oșenești, păstrată de veacuri în conștiința colectivă.
O plimbare prin Breb, Maramureș | vlog107
Satul Breb se afla in partea Central-Nordica a Maramuresului, la baza muntilor Gutai fiind situat la o distanta de 25 km de Sighetul Marmatiei si 52 km de Baia Mare. Impreuna cu Hoteni si Sat Sugatag, Brebul apartine de comuna Ocna Sugatag, aflata la 7 km departare.
Brebul este un tinut bogat in traditii si obiceiuri vii de sute de ani, un sat vizitat de turistii straini, cuceriti de felul in care acesta este conservat dar si de frumusetea cadrului natural in care este amplasat. Satul maramuresan i-a convins pe multi sa renunte la viata agitata de la oras pentru un trai linistit in mijlocul naturii. Romani si deopotriva straini s-au mutat in Breb pentru a duce o viata simpla la tara, intr-un colt de rai ferit de tumultul oraselor.
