KOH SAMUI, THAILAND (2023) | 10 Incredible Things To Do In & Around Koh Samui

Koh Samui is located in the southern Gulf of Thailand. It’s the largest island of the Samui Archipelago and the second-largest in the country. In this video, we’ll highlight 10 top things to do in Koh Samui.

10. Relax at the beaches
Our favorite beach in Koh Samui was Lamai, which is more relaxing than Chaweng but still has lots of tourist facilities and entertainment around.

9. Discover the Secret Buddha Garden (Tarnim Magic Garden)
Hidden high up in the hills in Koh Samui’s center, this garden is filled with unique statues and structures amid lush jungle surroundings.

8. Visit the Na Muang waterfalls
The Na Muang 1 waterfall is close to the parking lot and easily accessible on foot, while Na Muang 2 requires a short steep hike if you want to get closer to the falls.

☑️ Book half-day jeep tour to waterfalls & secret garden:

7. See Koh Samui’s most mysterious rocks
At Lamai Beach, you can find two distinctive rock formations. Discovered by locals many years ago, these rocks were described as Grandpa (Hin Ta) and Grandma (Hin Yai).

6. Go island hopping to Koh Phangan or Koh Tao
Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are the sister islands of Koh Samui, and you can easily visit them on a boat tour. While Koh Tao is a great place for diving and snorkeling, Koh Phangan is home to pristine beaches and the famous Full Moon Party.

☑️ Koh Phangan Day Tour:
☑️ Koh Tao Day Tour:

5. Eat and Shop at Bophut Fisherman's Village
Located at the north coast of Koh Samui, Bophut Fisherman’s Village is a beautiful walking street filled with cafés, boutique shops, and restaurants.

4. Watch a Muay Thai Boxing Match
Koh Samui offers Muay Thai boxing matches on almost every day of the week and the most popular place to watch them is the Samui International Muay Thai Stadium in Chaweng.

3. Explore the colorful temples
Some of the most beautiful temples include Wat Ratchathammaram in Lamai, Wat Plai Laem, and the Big Buddha Temple.

2. Go on a boat tour to Ang Thong Marine Park
A must-do day trip from Koh Samui is Ang Thong National Marine Park, an archipelago made of 42 small islands. It’s possible to do this by speedboat or larger boat tour.

☑️ Book a speedboat boat tour to Ang Thong Marine Park:

1.Eat street food at the night market
The Friday Night Market in Bophut Fisherman’s Village runs from 5 PM until 11 PM. There is also live music at the central bar area to keep you entertained.

First time in ISAAN Thailand(Buriram): Phanom Rung Historical Park, Isan Thai Food, Prasat Muang Tam

Book transportation to Buriram here:

In this Thailand Travel Vlog we head to ISAAN for the first time!! We decided to take a weekend trip from Bangkok to visit Buriram, Thailand! There was so much we wanted to do on this trip and we managed to get most of it done on our weekend away!
We arrived on a bus from Bangkok late Friday night so we went directly to sleep. When we woke up on Saturday we first wanted to rent a motorbike to drive around! Unfortunately most places didn't have any bikes available! We ended up talking to the motorbike taxi drivers by the Buriram bus station. They were SO nice and ended up calling a friend who delivered a bike to us that we could rent! ????????????
We drove an hour south of the Buriram city center to visit Phanom Rung Historical Park! It ended up being the most amazing temple visit! Phanom Rung is a Khmer monument that is similar in design to Angkor Wat in Cambodia! We had so much fun walking around the temple and exploring the grounds. The temple is actually built on top of an extinct volcano so there are nice views of the surrounding area.
When we purchased our tickets to Phanom Rung, we actually got joint tickets for both Phanom Rung Historical Park as well as Prasat Muang Tam! Prasat Muang Tam is another ancient Khmer temple only 10 minutes from Phanom Rung!
On the drive between them we stopped at a roadside Thai restaurant that we were driving past. It didn't look too special from the front, but the back was SO cute!! We wanted to try some Isan Thai food while we were in the area. We ended up ordering Isan som tum (papaya salad), as well as beef larb and some fried rice. The food was interesting.
Unfortunately the weekend we traveled ended up being the coldest weekend in the whole year we lived in Thailand! Which was made even colder because we were in Buriram!!! But we still had an amazing day!

Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss the next video in Buriram where we visit the Khao Kradong Forest Park (another Buriram volcano), the Buriram castle, the Chang International Circuit motoGP track, and finish the night watching the Buriram United game at the Chang Arena!

Built of sandstone and laterite between the 10th and 13th Centuries.
It was a Hindu shrine dedicated to Shiva and became a very popular major tourist attraction. So another spectacular must place to visit.
Entry fee is two pricing. Foreigners pay 100 Baht or can buy a joint ticket to enter nearby Pasat Muang Tam both for 150 Baht.
Entry for Thais 20 Baht or 30 Baht for both places.

We over exposure it! Thai cultural at it's best in the North Eastern provinces

Phanom Rung historical park Khmer temple complex in Buriram Thailand Phanomrung Festival Buriram

Phanom Rung historical park - Khmer temple complex in Buriram Thailand Phanomrung Festival Buriram. Phanom Rung Historical Park. The most spectacular Khmer monument in Thailand, Prasat Phanom Rung (Big Mountain Temple) located on the summit of a Phanomrung volcano 200m above the paddy fields. The dramatic entrance and beautiful design make it a must-visit attraction for anyone in the area. (The name historical park is misleading, it's 1 temple complex, well maintained and no mass tourism at all. There is also a museum that explains more about the history of the temples in Isan. Worth a visit) Phanom Rung Historical Park or Prasat Hin Phanon Rung is a key location in Buriram, Thailand. It has many important archaeological sites, which are located at the top of an extinguished volcano 350 meters above seal level. On this now dormant Volcano you will see incredible Khmer architecture, which is assumed to have been built in the 15th - 18th Buddhist century. Here you can marvel at the giant stairways of red stone and sandstone. The long story of Prasat Hin Phanom Rung is part of Thailand history. Don’t miss out on this place when you get to visit Thailand. Once a year, a solar phenomenon appears when the rays of the dawn sun shine straight through all 15 doors of the well preserved Khmer temple in Buriram Province, a rare event that can be witnessed at the annual festival. The festival also includes a colourful procession, cultural presentations, a model village, and spectacular light-and-sound presentations at night.

ISSAN HOSPITALITY!! Buriram Food & Night Entertainment Area AMAZING CHOICE

After unpacking Nat asked the hotel's reception about the nearest night market as most towns in Thailand have a market of some kind which makes it easy to find low-cost food options.
This was definitely not what I had in Mind but what a bonus.

Buriram Thailand Travel Vlog (ISAAN): Buriram United vs Chonburi, MotoGP Circuit, Volcano Park

Book transportation to Buriram here:

In this Thailand travel vlog, we spend another day exploring Buriram - this time closer to the center of Buriram city! (Watch our first Buriram vlog here We started the day in the center of Buriram city before driving our motorbike down to Khao Kradong Forest Park. We really wanted to visit here as the park is actually located on an extinct volcano! We climbed up 305 stairs to the top of the park.....before finding out you can also drive almost the whole way to the top! This is the best view in all of Buriram! Next to the big Buddha statue there is also a fun little lava slide you can ride down and cross a suspension bridge over the Khao Kradong volcano crater. From there we drove 2 minutes across the street to the Chang International Circuit - the MotoGP track in Buriram Thailand. We were so lucky as we arrived during an open track day! We were allowed to climb up into the stands and watch people driving around the track for fun. We then swung by the famous Buriram Castle which is right next to the MotoGP track and also the location of the Buriram United football stadium! Fun fact is that the Buriram Castle is modeled after Phanom Rung temple (where we went in our first Buriram video). It's also part of the Buriram Untied team's crest. There was a little Thai street food market between the castle and the stadium where we were able to get some Isaan food and try Khao Jee. After that we ended up going go karting... I think watching the motoGP inspired us! It was so much fun and also right next to the football stadium. We made it back to Chang Arena in time to have a few changs outside with all the other people pregaming before the football match. We were then lucky enough to see an amazing game of Buriram United vs Chonburi! It was such a great day in Buriram and everything was so close to each other that you can visit all of these locations in one day! We definitely recommend checking out this city in you're in Thailand!

From Buriram to Lop Buri - Thailand 4K Travel Channel

The south of Isaan was under the influence of the Khmer Empire for a long time. Thus it is not surprising that the Thailand's most beautiful monuments from this era can be found in this region.
This is the reason why we do not take the direct way to Lop Buri but drive a bend to the south near the Cambodian border. Here we visit the temple districts Phanom Rung and Prasat Muang Tam. ( separate article)
On the way from Phanom Rung to Prasat Muang Tam, we come to Prasat Kuti Rishi Nong Boa Lai, a former hospital. What remains are only the spiritual parts. The treatment and recovery rooms were made of wood and of course, weathered. During the reign of King Jayarvaman VII, one built 102 hospitals in the Khmer Empire.
In front of Prasat Kuti Rishi Nong Boa Lai, we see the first time how the rural population dries their grain. They simply spread it out on the street. Yet, one lane of the carriageway remains free for traffic.
A friendly farmer's wife even wanted to invite us to dinner, but our guide had already reserved elsewhere. In a private shrine, a family member is performing his prayer.
In Nang Rong, we stop for lunch in a nicely decorated restaurant.
At the entrance of Wat Khun Kong, wooden soldiers guard the entrance.
We continue our journey and arrive at the Lam Takhong Dam, the first pumped-storage power plant in Thailand. Here we reach the Thanon Mittraphap, the so-called Friendship Highway, built by the Americans in the 60s and 70s. It is interesting how the Americans turn the term of things into the opposite by marketing shells.
For the construction of the Friendship Highway one brutally cut a lane through the organic nature. It served to supply the warring parties in the Vietnam War with weapons. Right, and left of the highway one has founded nature reserves today. These are the Khao Yai and the Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park. At the highest point of the street, some shops and restaurants line the street. They are more reminiscent of a western village with a saloon.
After one reaches the lowland again, one sees gigantic cement factories, presumably built for the construction of the street.
In Pak Prieo we turn north and pass through an area characterized by steep limestone cliffs.
