Best Day of Our NOVA SCOTIA ROAD TRIP in Canada ???? ???????? | Visiting LaHave Islands + The Ovens
In this video, we're continuing our Nova Scotia road trip with a fun day visiting the LaHave Islands! This was one of our favourite days travelling along Nova Scotia's South Shore, mainly because we were just winging it and that seems to be our favourite way to travel.
We kicked off the morning driving from Lunenburg to LaHave (via the LaHave River ferry), and once we arrived there we made a stop at the famous LaHave Bakery; they're well-known for their baked goods and sandwiches and they have a beautiful outdoor seating area, so it makes the ideal stop along the way. Plus, you also have LaHave Books on the backside of the building in case you want to pick up a beach read for a fun day of island hopping.
Having eaten an early lunch, we drove over to Crescent Beach, which is a tombolo; this is when the mainland is connected to an island via a long strip of land, in this case, a beach! From there, we started our LaHave Islands adventure driving to George Island to Bush Island to Jenkins Island to Bell Island to LaHave Island. The islands mainly consisted of forest and private cottages, but we did find a nice little spot on the rocks, which would've been ideal for a picnic had we not eaten all of our food so early...but you know us!
It was then onward to Rissers Beach Provincial Park, where we enjoyed a nice walk on the beach as well as the boardwalk which takes you through marshland.
We made a few more stops that afternoon including Hirtle's Beach, which marks the start of the hike to Gaff Point. We were running a bit short on time, so we opted for a visit to an ice cream truck instead of doing the hike.
And lastly, we drove to The Ovens Natural Park, which was the site of the 1861 gold rush. We got to learn about this fascinating history while hiking the Sea Cave Trail, which took us down to all sorts of caves and tunnels. This was one of the highlights of the day and a fun way to wrap up another great day of our Nova Scotia road trip!

LUNENBURG TRAVEL GUIDE | 18 Things to do in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada
If you're into photography and you're looking for some cool photo ops Tannery road just before you hit the golf course is where to get the classic shot. But even if you're not into photography and you just want to enjoy a pretty sunset this is a nice spot and there's an area where you can park your car.
And for anyone interested in where we stayed i booked us a room at the mariner inn which is actually spread out across several buildings in the center of town. Our room was in the cranberry suites which is the bright fuchsia building over here i like that we were smack dab in the heart of Lunenburg.
And we could walk everywhere plus they also had a really nice breakfast that was served in the sun room in the main building. However my favorite part of this inn was riding the nautical slash underwater themed elevator complete with the whale and octopus - it's the little things.
And that is a wrap for our Lunenburg travel guide. It's crazy to think we did all of that in one day but yes it is possible. We stayed in town for an additional three days so we'll be sharing some fun day trips to Mahone bay , Lahave islands and more. Mahone Bay ended up being one of our favourite destinations that we visited on our epic Nova Scotia, Canada road trip. One of the things we loved the most was just how charming the town is and how easy it is to get around on foot. After parking our car we ended up being within walking distance of all the churches, museums, restaurants, cafes and breweries that we wanted to visit. Another aspect that is great is that you have many nearby trails, islands and beaches worth checking out. You can spend time enjoying the charming town and then head out into nature to make the most of your day. We found locals very friendly and had many pleasant conversations. Overall, Mahone Bay left a tremendous impression upon on us not only as a travel destination but as a great place to potentially live. If you're visiting Nova Scotia be sure to add Mahone Bay to the list of must-visit destinations on your schedule.

MAHONE BAY Travel Guide | 15 Things to do in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada
Greetings from Mahone Bay. This is a place we've been wanting to visit and it is like a 10 or 15 minute drive from where we're staying in Lunenburg. Very convenient and very easy to access. We are continuing our road trip along Nova Scotia South Shore and today we're spending the day here in Mahone Bay. So far our impressions of this place is just that it is incredibly charming. It's the most relaxing town. We're just gonna explore on foot all day.
And that was our day trip to Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. We took the scenic road back to Lunenburg along the lighthouse coastal road driving past mater's cove and detouring to herman's island where we spotted a deer. It was so peaceful and such a beautiful part of nova scotia. It really won over our hearts on this trip. Gaff Point Hiking Trail | Halifax | Bridgewater | Subtitles | Nova Scotia | Canada
In this video we are hiking Gaff Point Hiking Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada.
This trail is location about 1-1.5 hours from the main city of Halifax, near a town called Bridgewater (and Lunenburg) - which is close to Hirtles Beach, NS.
There is a lot of parking at this trail, as there is also a pebble beach here. Once you leave the parking lot and get into the beach, walk all the way down to the end of the beach where you can access the Gaff Point Trail.
The trail is 3.5 kms long round trip. In total from the parking lot its a 6.5 kms trail including the section of beach you need to walk along in order to get to the trail head.
This is a fairly easy hike, with little elevation gain. You are exposed to wind for the majority of the hike, so dress like you're on the ocean!

If you are looking to hike Nova Scotia, this should be one trail that is on your list. It is one of the better hiking Trails in Halifax and maybe on the of the best hikes in Nova Scotia with it's great ocean views!

A Day Trip To Crescent Beach, LaHave Islands & Bridgewater - You Can Drive On The Beach!
In today's video I head to the south shore. We start off in East LaHave and catch the ferry over to LaHave. From there I head down to Crescent Beach, it's 2 Km long and you can drive your car on it. After the beach I explore the LaHave Islands, full of great scenery and a museum. We head into Bridgewater for lunch before heading back to the city.

Você já ouviu falar da cidade de Bridgewater, em Nova Scotia? Pois nem a gente tinha até agora. Localizada no condado de Lunenburg, esta charmosa cidade de 8.500 habitantes é mais um destino desconhecido de muitas pessoas que guarda um ambiente muito acolhedor e pode ser uma excelente opção para quem busca paz, tranquilidade e qualidade de vida.
Esse foi o caso de Marcelo Megid, engenheiro de materiais que veio estudar no Lambton College em Toronto. Depois de terminar o curso, começou a trabalhar em Toronto (gerente de restaurante) e procurando emprego na sua área. Vendo a dificuldade de conseguir emprego na área em Toronto, resolveu abrir o leque do opções. Recebeu uma proposta muito boa para trabalhar na pequena Lunenburg, NS, e fez sua mudança para lá, mais especificamente pra Bridgewater, NS.
