BEAUTIFUL Muskoka Lakes in Ontario - Canada Road Trip

As part of our Canada road trip, we spent 3 nights in the beautiful Muskoka Lakes region of Ontario, Canada.

After a picnic stop overlooking Georgian Bay, we arrived at our hotel in the Muskoka Lakes region - the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka. I give a full room tour and we have dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants. The next day we explore the full resort. The JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka is a truly impressive resort! We hired some bikes from the resort and enjoyed the Muskoka Lakes on 2 wheels.
The next day we went to Hardy Lake Provincial Park for a hike around Hardy Lake, with a stop at Port Carling on the way back.
The Muskoka Lakes region is beautiful and well worth a visit!

Bracebridge town was built around a waterfall on the Muskoka River in the centre of town, and is known for its other nearby waterfalls, Wilson's Falls and High Falls. It was first incorporated in 1875. The town is the seat of the district government, a centre of tourism for the Muskoka area, and home to several historical sites, such as the Clock Tower, Woodchester Villa, and the Silver Bridge, which joins Manitoba Street with Ecclestone Drive. Best Places in Ontario: Muskoka - Huckleberry Rock, Winter

Hello adventurers,
I want to introduce you to one of my favourite places in the Muskoka region, Huckleberry Rock Lookout. A quick tip: if you come here at the right time, you will experience some of the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine at the top of the hike!

Huckleberry Rock Lookout is located 2 hours north of Toronto, very close to Bala and Bracebridge's picturesque towns. You will find the trailhead just beside the parking lot. There, you can see a big rock with the description of the trail engraved.

Many reasons make this place and region unique. To begin with, you will be standing on the southern tip of the Canadian Shield, which is a massive geographic area of exposed Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock.

The hike is a straightforward 3km walk except for a relatively inclined 61 m climb at the very beginning, but it will be well worth it once you get to the top!

The hike takes you through a hardwood forest mixed with white and red pine, spruce hemlock and tamarack. The trail is very well marked.

You will be standing on some of the oldest rocks on earth. At the top, you will be enjoying what is regarded as one of the best views of Muskoka.

This park is open all year round, and I'm sure that every season offers something unique. I decided to visit it for the first time during the winter on a weekday, and I was the only person there. The snow was fresh and shiny, and as I mentioned, I experienced a fantastic sunset while I was at the top and while I hiked back to the parking lot! I look forward to coming back to this place during the summer and the autumn.

As an immigrant, having the privilege to hike and experience all these places has allowed me to plant roots on this beautiful land, and I can't wait to keep sharing more of my adventures with you!

If you enjoyed this video, please Subscribe to our channel, where we will show you the best things to do on a day trip from Toronto. We believe everyone should be able to take advantage of the beautiful places this province has to offer, and believe me, you will need a lifetime to fully experience Ontario!

If you have any suggestions on places we should visit next, let us know in the comments.

We offer adventures all year, with different seasonal destinations. You don't have to be an avid hiker to join our adventures... we take it easy so you can enjoy your surroundings as much as possible! That being said, we also offer more challenging adventures and longer hikes for those who are looking for a challenge.

Our trips are designed for small groups (6 people maximum) and are ideal for solo travellers.

BRACEBRIDGE Ontario Canada in Winter and Bracebridge Falls Holiday Lights

#Travel #Canada #Bracebridge
BRACEBRIDGE Ontario Canada in Winter and Bracebridge Falls Holiday Lights
Bracebridge Falls is the last drop on the north branch of the Muskoka River before its joins up with the south branch. The Muskoka is a good sized river and this is a big waterfall, but like all the others in the area it has been partially dammed. A dam extends across most of the river, but some of the water spills over a natural rock face. There is also a smaller drop a few hundred meters upstream, which also has a dam built on it. The falls are located in downtown Bracebridge. Ecclestone Drive crosses the Muskoka just above the falls. There is a parking area by the corner of Ecclestone and Entrance Drive from where you can access some walking paths that lead to the falls. You can reach either side of the falls by walking across the dam.
