Herentals, Bélgica | Ciudades más bonitas de Amberes
Herentals se encuentra en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica y es conocida como la capital histórica de lo que se conoce como de Kempen, una región natural muy importante que abarca principalmente el noreste de Bélgica y parte de los Países Bajos. La prosperidad medieval de Herentals está estrechamente relacionada con el florecimiento de la industria textil local. Durante su período de auge, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIV, los comerciantes de telas de Herentals cubrieron un área de ventas que se extendía por gran parte de Europa. Posteriormente, como a la mayoría de los poblados europeos, le siguieron años de guerras, destrucciones y pestes, lo que provocó un gran declive económico. De todas formas Herentals siempre tuvo fuerzas para resurgir y en particular hoy en día podemos encontrar aquí numerosos monumentos, vestigios de esos tiempos de gloria, como ser su impresionante Lonja de los Paños, sus puertas del siglo XV y una imponente iglesia.

Beautiful Coo , Belgium II Day trip from Brussels II COO WATERFALLS II Floating Feathers
This little place is mostly known for the famous Coo waterfalls and the Plopsa Coo amusement park.
This waterfall, right at the heart of the village of Coo, is not only stunning: it also is the highest natural one in the whole of Belgium. The Amblève river falls down a full 15 metres height.
The story
The monks of the abbey of Stavelot are said to have developed part of the river to feed into a mill as early as 1483. They would not have created the waterfall but it is probable the stream would have overflowed on the nearby rocks. At the beginning of the 19th century, the fall already was a touristic sight, part of the iconic locations to check out near Spa. It still enchants visitors today...

Nature: A lake in the Lozerheide in Bocholt (Belgium)
The Domain Forest Lozerheide extends over 210 hectares and is located in the town of Bocholt, in the north of the province of Belgisch Limburg in Belgium. Unlike what the name suggests, there is no question here of heather. Lozerheide is a diverse forest, dotted with ponds, streams, canals and grasslands.
Especially the ponds and small lakes are a hot spot for local wildlife. Heron, cormorant, grebe, Little Grebe, Kingfisher, common tern and many species of ducks bring life in the area.
Het Domeinbos Lozerheide strekt zich uit over 210 ha en is gelegen in de gemeente Bocholt, in het noorden van Belgisch Limburg. In tegenstelling tot wat de naam doet vermoeden, is er hier geen sprake van heide. Lozerheide is een gevarieerd bos, bezaaid met vijvers, beekjes, kanaaltjes en graslanden.
Vooral de vijvers vormen een 'hot spot' voor de lokale fauna. Reiger, aalscholver, fuut, dodaars, ijsvogel, visdiefje en vele eendensoorten brengen leven in het gebied.

Wij zijn Pieter en Marieke en sinds 2015 varen we met onze motorboot de Canicula door Nederland. Tijdens onze eerste vaartocht door Overijssel vallen we van de ene verbazing in de andere. Over de imposante bebouwing van Vollenhove, de massieve zeesluis van Blokzijl, het dijkdorp Kuinre. Geweldig! Inmiddels zijn we bijna heel Nederland door gevaren. Om iedereen te laten zien hoe mooi Nederland is vanaf het water, maken we video's van onze vaartochten en schrijven we artikelen over wat we allemaal tegenkomen onderweg. De Canicula is een St. Tropez cabincruiser van negen meter lang, tachtig centimeter diep en ruim twee meter hoog.
