Este o splendida cadere de apa de peste 18 metri inaltime situata peste drum de Dealul cu melci. Este rezervatie peisagistica, aflata pe un prag stancos de calcare, inconjurata de o padure de amestec conifere-foioase.
Cunoscuta si sub numele de Cascada de la Vidra se afla in comuna Vidra, sat Nemesti.Apele din zona sunt bogate in calcar si dau nastere unor splendide formatiuni calcaroase, de varsta paleozoica, care maresc spectaculozitatea locului

Se află în ramura nordică a Muntilor Bihor, lant din Muntii Apuseni,în sud-estul judetului Bihor, pe raza comunei Pietroasa.(Depresiunea Balileasa,Boga)

Este o spectaculoasa cadere de apa de peste 15 metri inaltime situata intr-o padure de conifere la poalele Varfului Piatra Graitoare. Aceasta se gaseste in Arieseni, in apropierea satului Vamvucesti - la 5 kilometri distanta de centrul comunei.

În Apuseni, la cota 1.400, se află un loc feeric,,este o o combinaţie de pajişti şi peluze situate pe un platou montan.Este reşedinţa de vară a locuitorilor de pe cursul Arieşului Mare şi se află pe teritoriul comunei Gârda de Sus, pe culmile masivului Bihor.

Sighisoara | A Quick Tour of a Gorgeous Medieval Town

The medieval town of Sighisoara is a Transylvanian fairy tale that very much deserves your time, so I thought I’d present you with this quick travel guide of what to see and what to do when visiting this beautiful place. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999, Sighisoara is home to a beautiful citadel on a hill, with brightly coloured houses, a fourteenth-century clock tower, a long covered staircase and lovely views whichever way you turn. It’s also the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, the historical inspiration for Count Dracula, so you’ll find plenty of Dracula souvenirs, too. Romania doesn’t get much more picturesque than this, so come with me as I explore this medieval gem!

Orasul a jucat un rol important în procesul de formare a limbii române și a conștiinței române, fiind in trecut în trecut, un adevărat centru istoric, cultural și religios. Centrul orasului este un parc cu alei ce poarta numele Astra, Petru Pavel Aron, Mitropolit Vancea si Timotei Cipariu, care servea la inceput ca loc de comert pentru negustori. Parcul Avram Iancu, cu stejarul lui Avram Iancu si Teiul lui Eminescu, din partea nordica a orasului, sunt alte obiective turistice.Crucea lui Avram Iancu de pe Dealul Crucii, este un obiectiv turistic vizibil din orice colt al Blajului care a fost ridicata ca simbol al evenimentelor din 1848

The city played an important role in the formation of the Romanian language and Romanian consciousness, being in the past, a true historical, cultural and religious center. The center of the city is a park with alleys named after Astra, Petru Pavel Aron, Metropolitan Vancea and Timotei Cipariu, which initially served as a place of trade for merchants. Various public activities of the city also took place here. On one side of the park is the Holy Trinity Metropolitan Cathedral, the first edifice built in the Romanian baroque style, with the largest iconostasis in the country, to which the two towers were later added. Liberty Plain, another tourist attraction, is the place where the Great National Assembly was held in Blaj from May 3/15, 1848. Avram Iancu Park, with Avram Iancu's oak and Eminescu's Teiul, in the northern part of the city, are other tourist attractions Avram Iancu's cross on the Hill of the Cross, is a tourist attraction visible from any corner of Blaj, which was erected as a symbol of the events of 1848

Discovering Romania (Sibiu & Blaj) - Ahmed Jama 2014

This film follows Ahmed Jama's first trip to Sibiu, Romania with the guidance of his friend Andrei. The filming occurred during four days of travelling that included leaving London via Luton Airport en-route Sibiu, Romania.

The filming also covers travelling to Andrei's hometown Blaj.

MICA ROMA si MICA ELVETIE | Locuri nestiute din Sibiu si Alba | Cisnadioara si Blaj

Am petrecut cateva zile in Sibiu si Alba, si am cautat cateva locuri mai putin cunoscute din imprejurimi. Totusi nu am putut sa ratam si cateva locuri care sunt cunoscute, dar merita vizitate.
Am inceput vizita cu Muzeul Astra din Sibiu, care copleseste prin numarul mare de gospodarii si intinderea acestuia. Noi am stat vreo 2 ore si am reusit sa vedem aproximativ jumatate de muzeu, deci va puteti lua o dupa amiaza intreaga pentru a vizita locul.
De acolo am mers langa Sibiu la Cisnadioara, care are o biserica fortificata impresionata pe un varf de deal de unde se vede intreaga localitate. Cisnadioara este un loc foarte ingrijit, cochet care te duce cu gandul la vestul Europei, de aia am si numit-o Mica Elvetie. Cetatea este neschimbata de aproape 800 de ani si dupa o urcare de 10 minute, se dezvaluie in intreaga ei splendoare. Momentan nu se mai tin slujbe, dar aici s-au tinut concerte, datorita acusticii sale, piese de teatru si este un punct de atractie pentru lumea artei.
Urmatoarea zi ne-am indreptat spre Alba Iulia, si nu aveam cum sa ratam cetatea - care este una din cele 4 din Romania in stil vauban (pe langa Alba Iulia mai sunt 3 cetati in Oradea, Arad si Fagaras). Dar fiind in cautarea locurilor mai putin cunoscute am ajuns la Blaj, sau cum a numit-o Eminescu - Mica Roma. Blaj este cunoscut pentru Campia Libertatii unde in 1848 a avut Marea Adunare Nationala de la Blaj, Catedrala Sfanta Treime, Teiul lui Eminescu, Prima Scoala Publica cu predare in limba romana, crucea lui Avram Iancu.

In Romania you will find two things that make you visit it: very good food and many churches and monasteries. Romania is known for its traditional food dishes, but it is also known for the fact that here you will find the most interesting and old monasteries. Aventura urbană - Blaj (@TVR1)

Aventura urbană” a pornit spre Blaj, locul “în care a răsărit soarele românilor”, aşa cum spun localnicii. Pe o vreme primăvăratecă, nimerim la “Festivalul Mierii”, cel mai mare tîrg apicol din România. Vedem unul dintre cele mai impresionante iconostase din ţară la catedrala Sfînta Treime, apoi descoperim copia fidelă a bisericii din Banneux, Belgia, în padurea Cărbunari. Vizităm zona Jidveiului pentru o degustare de vin şi participăm la un meci de volei alături de fetele de la CSS Blaj.
Despre oraşul ce îşi păstrează istoria cu respect, povesteşte, la Bucureşti, pictorul Horea Cucerzan.

This video was taken in the Summer of 2022 during the beautiful 28th edition of the Medieval Festival. I combined 4k video on the ground to capture local festivities and the crowds as well as aerial drone images and played a soundtrack that I think captures the essence of the this medieval town.

Blaj într-un minut: Orașul creat de un episcop

Povești de un minut despre Blaj @blajminute
Blajul s-a născut din ideea lui Inochentie Micu Klein, numit episcop de Făgăraș și Alba Iulia și totodată baron de Sad, în 1729. În 1737, Inochentie Micu a mutat sediul episcopiei la Blaj. Episcopul a făcut un adevărat plan pentru a clădi la Blaj un adevărat centru spiritual și de învățământ pentru românii din Ardeal, cu catedrală, seminar, mănăstire pentru călugării bazilieni. Construcțiile au fost însă desăvârșite de succesorul său, Petru Pavel Aron. Concentrat asupra obținerii drepturilor promise pentru români, odată cu unirea Bisericii române cu Roma, episcopul Klein a adresat nenumărate memorii împărătesei Maria Tereza și a intrat în conflict cu nobilii din Dieta Transilvaniei. Obligat să plece în exil în 1744, s-a retras din funcție în 1751 și a murit la Roma în 22 septembrie 1768. Rămășițele trupești odihnesc acum în Catedrala din Blaj, unde au fost aduse în 1997.

The Bridge of Lies (Romanian: Podul Minciunilor, German: Lügenbrücke) is a legendary pedestrian bridge located in the center of the Transylvanian city of Sibiu in central Romania. There are many legends surrounding the bridge because of its name. It is the first cast iron bridge built in Romania[1] and the second one built in Europe.[2]

Located in the Lesser Square of Sibiu, the bridge crosses Strada Ocnei to connect the Lesser Square to the Huet Square.

Legends
The Bridge of Lies has many legends surrounding it because of its name. The most popular one has it that the bridge will collapse when someone tells a lie while standing on it.[1] Another legend says that the bridge was often crossed by merchants who were trying to fool their clients. The ones who were caught were tossed off the bridge. According to another legend, the bridge was a meeting place for boys attending the military academy and their girlfriends. The boys wouldn't show up, leaving their girlfriends wait until realizing they have been lied to. One legend also has it that the bridge was often crossed by young lovers who swore each other eternal love. The girls also swore that they were virgin, which often turned out to be a lie after the couples got married. As a punishment, they were thrown off the bridge, since it was the place where they had lied to their lovers.[2]

Despite all the legends, its name has a different origin. The bridge was initially called Liegenbrücke, German for lying bridge (lying as in to lie down), which sounds very similar to Lügenbrücke, meaning bridge of lies. The legends have helped the latter spread among the city's people, which is how the bridge came to get its current name.

Design and architecture
The bridge is sustained by four arches made of cast iron. They are decorated with Neo-Gothic motives. On the southernmost arch stands the coat of arms of Sibiu, while on the northernmost one stand the inscriptions 1859 and Friedrichshütte respectively, the latter being the name of the foundry that delivered a part of the bridge's components.[3]

The rails are made out of eight panels with circular shapes and Gothic decorations.
