Visit Beautiful BELLINGHAM, WA - Exploring the Top Sites (Travelguide + Brewery Tour)

Welcome to Bellingham, WA! If your looking to spend a weekend in Bellingham, take a day trip from a nearby city or possibly make a move to this amazing City - then this video will show you some of the many popular neighborhoods and top sites. We will also take you on a tour of some of the many breweries Bellingham is known for (including our favorite one of course ????). We have both lived in Bellingham for the majority of our lives and as full-time world travelers can now fully appreciate the true beauty Bellingham has to offer. Bellingham is a gem of the Pacific Northwest region and a must-visit while in Washington State.

Bellingham is located just 90 miles north of Seattle and 50 miles south of Vancouver, BC, making it a great destination for travelers who want to explore the Pacific Northwest. But Bellingham is more than just a pitstop - it's a destination in its own right.

We start in the historic district of Fairhaven. With its Victorian architecture, boutique shops, restaurants, and Stones Throw Brewery, it is a great place to start our tour.

Next, we'll head over to some of the best parks in Bellingham. Boulevard Park is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. This park offers stunning views of Bellingham Bay, as well as walking trails, picnic areas, and a playground for kids. After stopping at some local breweries we make our way to Whatcom Falls Park, another must-visit destination. This park is home to beautiful waterfalls, hiking trails, and picnic areas.

For those who love outdoor adventures, Bellingham is a paradise. Mt. Baker is a stunning mountain range that's located just a short drive from the city. Here, you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and more. The San Juan Islands are another popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. These islands offer beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and plenty of opportunities for kayaking and whale watching.

Finally, we'll talk about Bellingham's proximity to Seattle and Vancouver, BC. Both cities are just a short drive away, making Bellingham a great home base for exploring the Pacific Northwest. Whether you want to take in the sights and sounds of Seattle or explore the beautiful landscapes of British Columbia, Bellingham is the perfect place to start.

Overall, Bellingham is a city that has something for everyone. Whether you're looking for craft beer, outdoor adventures, or easy access to other Pacific Northwest destinations, Bellingham is definitely worth checking out. Thanks so much for watching - Cheers ????

Places to see in ( Billingham - UK )

Places to see in ( Billingham - UK )

Billingham is a town in County Durham, England, with a population of 35,765, decreasing slightly to 35,165 at the 2011 Census. It was founded circa 650 by a group of Angles known as Billa's people, which is where the name Billingham is thought to have originated. In modern history, the chemical industry, and in particular the company ICI, has played an important role in the growth of Billingham.

Today ICI no longer operates in Billingham, although other chemical companies are working in the area. Following the fragmentation and ultimate loss of the chemicals conglomerate, ICI, the Billingham Chemical Industrial park became a multi-company facility. The chemical, biotechnology and engineering companies that continue to operate at Billingham are members of the Northeast of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC). They include GrowHow, Johnson Matthey, FujiFilm Diosynth Biologics and Fruitarom. Other members of the NEPIC Cluster operate from the 62 acre Belasis Business Park in Billingham such as Cambridge Research Biochemicals, ABB Group and Biochemica. Growhow not only manufacture fertilisers & industrial chemicals in Bilingham they also capture the CO2 for use in the food & drink industry. Tomatoes are grown in Billingham by North Bank Growers using the recoverable energy from the Billingham complex, which further reduces the area's carbon footprint.

The town is effectively split into two separate areas by name, Old Billingham (the area around the village green adjacent to St Cuthbert's church and built up around the ICI works) and the more planned estates that have spread out since the 1950s, increasing the town's size and borders towards the villages of Wolviston and Cowpen Bewley, to the point of almost incorporating them.

Billingham Beck Valley Country Park was constructed from a reclaimed industrial waste tip and has steadily grown to include former grazing land to form a 120-acre (0.49 km2) site including wetland habitats. Designated as a Local Nature Reserve by English Nature in 1992, in 2005 it won a Green Flag Award. The beck itself is one of the major tributaries of the River Tees and has a tidal reach around the former ICI site.

Billingham Town Centre provides the town with famous national retail chains such as Asda, Greggs, Iceland and Argos, as well as several charity shops, estate agents and banks, with a market featuring in the centre every Monday and Friday. The town centre lacks some services, but Stockton Town Centre is less than 3 miles (4.8 km) away and Middlesbrough Town Centre is also less than 3 miles (4.8 km) away.

Billingham is served by the A19 running to Sunderland in the north and Thirsk in the south. The A19 has bypassed Billingham twice. The original route ran through Old Billingham and over a level crossing next to where the old railway station was located and ran through Wolviston in the north.

Billingham railway station is on the Durham Coast Line with hourly services provided by Northern to Newcastle and the MetroCentre in the north and to Stockton and Middlesbrough in the south. Grand Central provide an express train from Sunderland to London but the service does not currently serve Billingham. The original Billingham railway station closed in the late 1960s and moved a mile east along the line.

EXPLORING FALMOUTH ENGLAND VLOG ◆ Rainy Day At Pendennis Castle, Eating Pasties, & Falmouth Quay!

[Filmed October 21, 2020] PLEASE NOTE: Cornwall was in Tier 1 on the date that this video was filmed, and we had traveled from another Tier 1 area. All of the UK’s hands-face-space guidelines were followed, and Derek and I strictly adhered to all local rules and regulations.

In today’s video, we encountered the famous British weather in droves. LOT’S of rain!

As a result, we decided to explore closer to our AirBNB in Penryn, and explore the Falmouth, England area!

We started by using our English Heritage memberships to get into Pendennis Castle and learn local military and defense history.

After leaving the castle, we parked near the Falmouth High Street and explored the harbour and Falmouth Quay area with lot’s of shops, restaurants, and pubs. There, we decided to try our first OFFICIAL Cornish pasty!!! (aka eat one in the actual county of Cornwall!)

We capped off our rainy day at a local pub where we dried off and unwound.

I hope you enjoy tagging along on our visit! Cheers, and happy travels!

SANCTON: East Riding of Yorkshire Parish #52 of 172

There’s a long history on the East Yorkshire Wolds. Here it’s best shown by archaeological discoveries of a Romano-British farmstead and two cemeteries with urn burials dating to Anglo-Saxon times. A sixth century pagan cemetery was discovered at Grange Farm. The discovery of 69 pottery urns was recorded on an Ordnance Survey map of 1854.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book as “Santun”/”Sautune”, the name translates to mean “Sand Town”. That’s in reference to the dry sandy nature of the wolds in this part of East Yorkshire. The Domesday Book also records a church. Prior to this the vale ot sits within was a route for Neolithic settlers up to the dry land of the Wolds.

Its claim to fame comes in the form of a horse's cart or carriage that was found in one of the surrounding fields. These days it can be seen in London's History museum. The village is associated with the Jackson family. Thomas Jackson was born here. The son of an agricultural labourer, he became President of the Wesleyan Conference in 1838 and again in 1849.

Even at the onset of WWI, it was still essentially a farming community of arable and livestock farming where farmers were allowed to graze cattle by the roadside. In more recent times, it has seen a wind farm be introduced into the area - a 10MW wind generation scheme thanks to developer REG Wind-power

Loved this one, and you’ll see why! It’s gorgeous on the Wolds! This is SANCTON.

Wynyard Hall, Spa and Gardens. (4K)

Wynyard Hall is the premier venue in the North East for weddings, events, conferences and accommodation.Set in its own beautiful and private grounds, Wynyard Hall, has a charm and character that captivates all who visit. Unlike any other venue in the North East guests feel relaxed and privileged from the moment they sweep over the lion bridge and the magnificent 4-star Country House Hotel comes into view until the time they leave.

Designed by Philip Wyatt and built 1822-28, the entrance front has 13 bays with a 6-column giant Corinthian portico. The entrance hall resembles that of Mount Stewart, the family's estate in Northern Ireland. It has a coffered segmental tunnel vault with apses at both ends and in the middle. There was a large crystal chandelier suspended from the ceiling. The main octagonal centre hall extends the full height of the house and has a dome with caryatids around it and a skylight. There is also a mirrored drawing room with a gilded and painted ceiling, and a vast ballroom similar to that of the family's London residence, Londonderry House.

The family wing of the mansion was nicknamed the Duke's Wing as it was named after the Duke of Wellington and his visit. This side of the house also held the Duke's Gallery, where the family housed their famed art collection when not in London.
