Para quem vem de Morandava para se chegar na cidade de Belo-Sur-Tsiribihina é preciso percorrer 5 horas numa estrada de areia e fazer uma travessia de balsa pelo rio Tsiribihina. Essa aventura só bons motoristas conseguem fazer sem maiores consequências.

For those who want to combine relaxing days with active days, we have the Tsiribihina
Adventure Tour. The first part of the tour brings you to Antsirabe and Miandrivazo. Here starts
the relaxing part of the tour with a three-day trip in a pirogue on the Tsiribihina. Enjoy the
scenery, the animals, fisher boats and villages along the way. You sleep in a tent along the
river, where the boatmen and guides provide you delicious meals. After the boat trip the active
days start with a hike in the Tsingy de Bemaraha NP. At the end of the tour you visit the
famous Avenue des Baobabs near Morondava.

Fleuve se jetant dans le canal du Mozambique à 50 km de Morondava, la descente en pirogue ou chaland durant 3 ou 4 jours est exceptionnelle. On embarque à Miandrivazo sur la rivière Mahajilo qui se jette dans la Tsiribihine après 30 km : visite de piscines, grottes, cascades naturelles et villages traditionnels, observation de crocodiles, tortues, caméléons, lémuriens. Trip effectué en juillet 2018.

Después de una larga travesía con 4x4 y después también de haber cruzado el Tsiribihina en un ferry, coche incluido, llegamos a Belo Sur Tsiribihina. Llegamos tan rebentados que no grabamos ni la cena, aunque al día siguiente ya pudimos disfrutar un poco del mercado de este pueblo antes de partir rumbo al Tsingy. Os dejamos la grabación del ferry y la vuelta por el mercado.

North of Morondava. The road conditions here are certainly an improvement from the area north of Belo sur Tsiribihina, but where this part of the drive would normally last 2 hours, we needed at least twice this due to this flooded street.

Madagascar Le Grand Boucle Part 1 - Descente de la Tsiribihina
This Part 1 of a video showing the highlights of a 26 day trip to Madagascar organized by Espace Mada based on their Grand Boucle trip. After two nights in Antananarivo the trip really starts with the Descente de la Tsiribihina. From there it includes Tsingy, Avenue of the Baobabs, and Morandava, before travelling down the coast to Toliara. After the coastal stops the trip headed back towards the east with stops at Isalo, Andringtira, Fianarantsoa, Antoetra and Antsirabe.
I made a few changes to the suggested Grand Boucle trip. I added a one night stop in Kirindy Forest Reserve, two nights in Andasibe - Mantadia National Park, an extra night at the start in Antananarivo and a stop in Manja.
