After an unsuccessful attempt last month, due to a nationwide train strike, I finally managed to cross something off my UK bucket list - a sleeping compartment on the Caledonian Sleeper from Euston to Inverness. It was so much fun, and would love to do it again.

The WORST RATED Hotel In The UK? Grand Burstin Hotel - Folkestone
I stay at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone, Owned by Britannia Hotels and it's the ninth consecutive year that Britannia has come bottom of the pile in the annual survey by consumer group Which? It's received some very bad reviews on Tripadvisor and some bad press over the last 12 months, BUT is it as bad as some people say? Let's find out!
The current hotel was built in 1984 from the foundations of the Royal Pavilion Hotel, originally built in 1843; parts of which for the new Burstin Hotel, such as the Victorian restaurant. The building was bought from the Grand Leisure Group in November 2004 by Britannia Hotels who now have 35 hotels across the UK.

British Museum Tour | A Virtual Walk Inside a London Institution
In this video, Jessica, a tour guide with Free Tours by Foot London, takes you on a tour of the highlights of the British Museum. NEXT: Oddities of the British Museum:
Our walk begins with an introduction to the museum and the wonderful Great Court designed by Norman Foster before heading to the South Asia Gallery to see the Statue of Tara. Next, we head to the Gallery of Living and Dying where the main attraction is the Hoa Hakananai'a statue, one of the most controversial objects in the museum.
We then head to the African Galleries where we will see the highlight here, the magnificant Bronze Head from Ife before heading into the Medieval Europe Gallery to see the Lewis Chessmen (of Harry Potter fame) and the items from the Sutton Hoo burial sites.
Then it is on to the Egypt Gallery, where we will see both human and cat mummies before ending the tour at arguably the most important piece in the museum, the Rosetta Stone.

Here is the house in all its glory!
The first bed room you'll see is about 15 ft by 14 ft (the bed was huge too)
The other bedroom was 10ft by 8 ft and the other two bedrooms (shown locked in the video) were exactly the same.
The Rent is GBP 295/month for the big room and GBP 280/month for the small rooms.
The deposit is approximately GBP 300/month. (will finalise the updated values with landlord)
Overall the house is not as good as the one we are living in now because of its a bit smaller (and does not have a dryer). The floor is carpeted and will be hard to keep clean and there isnt as much storage room as in our current house ( So im going to ave to get rid of the luggage I've been lugging around since concord. But it is double glazed, unlike our current house, and will be quite warm in winter.
The locaton is very convenient. Its An 8 minute walk to sainsbury, 5 minute walk to the closest bright orange bus stop, 10 minute walk into town and to Argos and A regular bus service (No.5) that stops very close to the house. Its also quite close to the railway station (oldfied park railway station)....though thats only better for me!

APEX TEMPLE COURT HOTEL-Superior King Room (London, UK)
The Apex Temple Court Hotel in London is such a lovey, somewhat hidden surprise in the heart of the city. There are no flashy signs indicating the hotel from the street…just a simple sign and a walkway through a little garden leading to the lobby. But inside, this property will wow you!
Remember, we don’t take free visits from hotels…we are not “influencers.” We are just travelers who want to share. :)
The rooms at the Apex were VERY spacious for London standards and for a 4star hotel it did not disappoint. The layout of the room provided a nice place to work, relax and sleep…with a desk, couch and bed. The bed was great, not over soft, but not overly hard. The linens were of good quality too. I definitely had good night’s sleep!
The bathroom provided a luxurious space to get ready and the bathroom amenities were great. So much so, I was happy to find extra space in my zip-top bag for bring a few home (which we don’t usually do).
Room specific advice: Room 412 (featured in this video) has a special surprise at night…you can look out the window and see the the London eye in all its colorful glory. It’s not a huge deal, but it did add some delight to my evenings. So, don’t hesitate to ask for a room that can see the London eye.

Hi everyone, and welcome to my YouTube channel! Today, I'm taking you on a room tour of ibis budget Cardiff Centre Hotel. I stayed here for a few nights in October 2023, and I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with you.
Room Tour (2:37 - 4:56)
The room was quite spacious for a budget hotel, and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, and the linens were clean and fresh. There was also a small desk for working.
Toilet (4:57 - 5:09)
The toilet was clean and functional.
Basin (5:10 - 5:27)
The basin was a good size, and it had a hot and cold water tap. There was also a soap dispenser.
Shower Stall (5:28 - 5:45)
The shower stall was surprisingly roomy, it was also clean and functional. The showerhead was powerful, and the water temperature was easy to control.
Recommendations & Conclusion (5:46 - 6:24)
Overall, I was very impressed with ibis budget Cardiff Central Hotel. It was a great value for the price, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in Cardiff.
