Hi everybody!
We spent 4 lovely days in The Ardennes, Belgium. This time we brought our tent for some very relaxing moments at the banks of the Amblève river. We love the outdoors and really enjoyed making this relaxing video.
The Ardennes region covers a little bit of each of three countries: France, Belgium and Luxembourg... between magical forests, spectacular landscapes, inviting valleys, ancient fortresses, and picturesque towns and villages…

Traveling to Belgium conjures up images of medieval roofs, lovely canals, delectable beer, and much more sumptuous chocolates. There is, however, a lot to see in this fascinating European nation, where time appears to pass at a slower pace and the inhabitants are warm and open to travelers.
Let's get started.
Number 10. Mons.
Mons, the seat of the province of Hainaut, is most renowned for the wonderful and unexpected ringing of the town's majestic Belfry bells, which ring from the tower's 80-meter (270-foot) height. Winding streets enable tourists to easily navigate the city's architecturally diverse sights.
Number 9. Dinant.
This city is located in the Namur province, along the glittering Meuse River, 65 kilometers (40 miles) south of the capital city. Natural sites such as the Caves of Han and the Grotto of Dinant draw people here. Most of Dinant's sanctuaries need appointments, but the Sanctuary of Beauraing is available every day.
Number 8. Leuven.
Leuven is home to the world's oldest Catholic university, as well as approximately 100,000 residents, nearly 35,000 of whom are students who keep the city lively when classes are in session. Two seemingly endless streets are lined with interesting shops and galleries, while the city's more historical section is home to sites like the Belfry on St. Peter's Church and the Grand Beguinage.

The town Belfry is the country's oldest and offers visitors 257 steps to the most spectacular views in Tournai.

Mechelen, a thriving town that lacks the tourist that many other Belgian towns possess, is really one of the greatest locations to visit in Belgium. There's much to see and do in this Flanders area, from visits of the Beguinage Brewery to river boat trips.

We visited the Basilica of our Lady of Scherpenheuvel.The Basilica is located on the Territory of Scherpenheuvel in Belgium. This place is the one of the most famous and most visited pilgrimage places in Belgium.
It was built on the initiative of the Archdukes Albert of Austria and Isabella.
The history of Scherpenheuvel has been linked to the veneration of Mary since the middle ages,when an oak tree in the shape of a cross stood on the hilltop between Zichem and Diest. A pious man then hung a statue of Mary on the oak and from then on many people came to pray there.#Travel #Roadtrip

Beauraing is een bedevaartplaatsje aan de rand van de Belgische Ardennen. In een meidoornstruik verscheen Maria vanaf 29 november 1932, 33 maal aan 5 kinderen. Maria, de moeder met het Gouden Hart, vroeg om gebed en beloofde aan zieken en bedroefden hulp en troost. Beauraing is rust, vrede en zorg voor elkaar. Dat men hier op bedevaart kome. Het is een uitdrukkelijke wens van de Heilige Maagd met het Gouden Hart. Vergeet niet op de wens van Maria in te gaan! Tot in Beauraing?

Exploring Culture in Hainaut Province, Belgium [things we discovered about Belgian Culture]
Hainaut Province in Belgium is an area rich with culture and heritage.
This region isn't short of Belgian culture, which boasts several UNESCO World Heritage-listed properties, areas and constructions. To add to this, Hainaut is also home to historical events on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
Along with the area's multiple well-preserved castles, the historical city centres in the region are also a must-visit.
We visited Hainaut to explore the cultural scene and were quite taken aback by the variety and the uniqueness of the area. Since we wanted to explore large parts of Hainaut, we booked a hotel in the city of Mons, hired a car and drove our way through the region in search of a cultural experience and Belgian traditions.
We were not disappointed!

Een avontuurlijke wandeling in de Ardennen: Langs de rotsen van Sy I Hiking Bomal
Als je eens een originele wandeling wilt met wat klim -, klauter- en afdaalmomentjes dan is deze wandeling een aanradertje. Lus Bomal - Sy - Bomal.
Wij moesten afentoe wel even zoeken naar het juiste padje. Mijn GPS liep een beetje achter op de GPX en hierdoor miste ik weleens een afslag, doch het was echt de moeite waard met al die mooie, prachtige vergezichten.
