Finally I made it to Batu Pahat where most of my good friends are from!
As the second biggest urban township in Johor, Batu Pahat offers so much more than just fantastic attractions and thrilling activities. This idyllic sleepy town turns out to be a paradise for foodies as well.
Batu Pahat (BP) is a town and capital of Batu Pahat District, Johor, Malaysia. It lies south-east of Muar (a royal town), south-west of Kluang, north-west of Pontian and south of Segamat. The town area is located inside Simpang Kanan parishes.
As of 2009, Batu Pahat town is the 20th largest urban area in Malaysia in terms of population. In 2006,
A perfect food-hunting destination, Batu Pahat boasts plenty of restaurants and local delicacies. Most of the restaurants have been serving delightful dishes for generations, using the very same recipe. The best part–these indulging experiences are extremely affordable!

After leaving Taiwan, Vanessa and I flew back to Kuala Lumpur and took a bus to Batu Pahat to stay with some of Vanessa's friends and to relax after a long month and a half of cycling in Taiwan. We needed it! Before we left Batu Pahat and continued on our journey, I wanted to share with you some of the best places that we ate during our stay there.

Batu Pahat District is a district in the state of Johor, Malaysia. It lies southeast of Muar, southwest of Kluang, northwest of Pontian, south of Segamat and Tangkak District. The capital of the district is Bandar Penggaram It is 239 km (150 miles) from Kuala Lumpur. The next nearest town is Muar which is 50 km (30 miles) northwest of Batu Pahat. The town of Kluang is located about 52 km (32 miles) to the northeast. Johor Bahru is located about 70 km to 100 km (43 miles to 62 miles) to the southeast of the town.
The district itself borders the districts of Segamat to the north, Kluang to the east, Muar to the west and shares a border in the southeast with the district of Pontian. The coast of the Straits of Melaka lies to the south.
