A Quick Walk Through Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec
Just an hour away from Quebec City is the beautiful small town of Baie-Saint-Paul. Surrounded by imposing mountains, the ever-effervescent bay is known for its numerous art galleries and the dynamism of its cultural scene.
This is a great starting point for exploring the Charlevoix Region of Quebec. After spending a few hours in Baie-Saint-Paul it's easy to see why it's regularly recommended as one of the best small towns in Quebec to visit.
Whether strolling on the charming and picture postcard like Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street or wandering in the fields in search of tasting the local products, Baie-Saint-Paul will move, delight, and inspire you.
Of all the little towns that lie within day-tripping distance of Québec City, this beautiful blend of the outdoors and the bohemian – this is Cirque du Soleil's hometown – may be the most attractive.
Not that I recommend day-tripping: if you're coming to Baie St Paul, book a night in a historic house converted into a superb gîte, linger over local cuisine, have a glass of wine and set your watch to the estuarine rhythm of the St Lawrence and Gouffre Rivers.

J’y suis venu au moins une dizaine de fois, mais c’est la première fois que j'y suis avec mes yeux de voyageur. C’est la première fois que je sors ma caméra, et que j’admire la ville d’un autre œil.
Baie St-Paul, c’est une petite ville remplie de charme! En plus d’être pittoresque à souhait, elle est entourée par d’imposantes montagnes, tout en étant sur le bord du fleuve St-Laurent. C'est donc l'endroit parfait pour venir y passer un beau weekend, ou simplement quelques jours lors d'un voyage plus long...
