PLACES TO SEE IN COTE NORD QUEBEC | FUN ROAD TRIP IDEAS | #QUEBEC | #CANADA | HOW TO CANADA

#Quebec | #CoteNord | #Canada | #Family Road #Trips | #Travels

I know summer is gone for now. I also know that the trees and fall colours of Ontario and Quebec has gone forth already and the preparations for winter are upon us. But that does not mean family fun trips and family fun ideas and gatherings have to stop with it. In fact, the best time to plan ahead for your next adventure is in the winter. So, grab a cup of coffee and a pen and piece of paper and start marking places down from this video.

Many people have different views and perspectives about the Province of Quebec. Yes, it is a French Speaking area and so are other parts of the world. Each has its own language and linguistic perspectives.

Quebec offers one of the most diverse and preserved natural wildernesses that I have ever come across in North America. From beautiful National Parks to some of the most remote wilderness that you can call home for the night. Whether you are in Cote Nord or just along the Gulf Of St. Lawrence River, you will encounter an ecosystem that is rich not only in wildlife and nature and outdoor fun but also in culture and ready to be explored.

The Coastal line of the St. Lawrence River along Highway 138 is got to be a bucket list for all. Turn upon turn and moment after moment and river after river is something unique and special with plenty of places to see and things to do. Yes, Quebec City will take you on a journey of history through time and into the days of old when Google and Yahoo was never thought of then and the world, we called home was different and it will remind you how preserved it has ever been until this day of ours. If you ever have the time to take a road trip in Quebec then you must do so by taking Highway 138 from Quebec City all the way to the city of Kegashka to the North Eastern side of the province of Quebec and experience the sheer beautiful and historical preservation of the small towns that come along this highway.

From the shores of the southern tip of the St. Lawrence River to the tidal beaches of Baie Comeau you will find plenty of things to do from hiking to boating and fishing and just sit and relax and watch the tides dance up and down the shores and witness the sun rising from a place afar yet nearby.

A must stop is in the region of Havre Saint-Pierre. There is a National Park Preserve in this region called Réserve de parc national de l'Archipel-de-Mingan (Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve). The limestones stand erect from the shores of the St Lawrence River as if they have been carved out of the ground to stand the test of time. A wonderful experience to come to this small island.

The moment you leave Quebec City, you will realise as if you have left Quebec and Canada and journeyed into Old Europe especially France. You will notice those large and magnificent church structures still stand from centuries ago. Some towns are busy with tourists while others are like the wind in your hair, they come and pass.

Do check and come in the right time, I once made the mistake of coming during the Hurricane Season but then quickly changed my plans and the rain never left my tail and the wind shock my SUV like a toy box. Many places were either shut down for the hurricane season or closed the coming of the winter. Regardless of when you visit, do give yourself plenty of time as there could be construction delays and maintenance work. Just so you keep in mind that things might not go according to your plan or schedule.

Within the boundaries of Quebec City is this place called Montmorency Falls, it is a conservation and a water dam area. This is a paid visit site which you have to buy a ticket for yourself and your vehicle and other extra charges if you have to take the Gondola ride up or down or maybe both and there are zipline rides and more. I personally think they charge too much for the visit and rides and everything there but that is a completely different topic for another video.

However, there are other waterfalls and places to see and they are free but it requires a longer drive away from the city. Both the South East and North East side of Quebec from the St. Lawrence River offer some of the most spectacular coastal drive opportunities and it is a MUST-SEE.

If you enjoy long drives and you love to take the ferry from one province to the other and you love secluded dispersed camping opportunities, then you have to visit Gaspésie and Cote Nord regions of Quebec Canada. And just remember that a journey or a travel does not have to be 4 weeks long or even more but rather whatever is within reach to you right at the moment. I think that the best journeys for me were the ones that I have had to plan for. I just grabbed my bag and car and left.

I hope you give this video a BIG THUMBS UP and subscribe for more epic places to see. I will catch you at the next adventure.

We continue east from Cornwall, past Montreal, to Lévis, opposite Québec City, putting more kilometres behind us. Tomorrow we take a look at the sights of old Quebec City, and the spectacular Montmorency Falls then head north and east toward Baie Comeau.
