Two hours driving from Kyoto City. I stayed at a farmer's house and ate organic vegan food with a lovely family. I can't believe that this kind of slow life style still exist not too far from the urban part of Kyoto.

Spring from Ayabeyama - The Japan News
A 24-hectare plum tree park on Mt. Ayabe in Tatsuno, Hyogo Prefecture, boasts red and white plum trees and a view of the Harimanada sea. Islands including Shodoshima and Ieshima in the Seto Inland Sea can also be viewed from among the beautiful trees. The park is open until March 21. [Released on March. 4, 2016]

** Ankokuji Temple ( Ayabe ) 安国寺
Ankokuji Temple is located in the north part of Ayabe City. The temple was established in mid 14th century by the very first Shogun of Muromachi Period ( Ashikaga Takauji ). The temple is the birth place of Ashikaga Takauji. In its precincts there is a well used for giving delivery to Takauji and graves and monuments of his mother are also enshrined in this place.
The place is filled with Japanese maples and visited by many tourists during the season when leaves turn color in autumn ( annual Momiji festival is held in mid-November ). There is a statue of Shaka Sanzon as well as various type of historical assets preserved in its main hall. This temple is designated as a very important cultural asset in Ayabe city.
The birth place ( the well where the delivery was practiced ) is outside the temple located just a minute walk away down the road. According to the history this area was once called Uesugino-sho in which Kiyoko who is the mother of Takauji came back to her hometown in Tamba district for giving birth to Takauji. Later on she built a villa in front of Ankokuji Temple.
To get access to this area take JR Line to Ayabe city and exchange the bus to Kurotani Line to Ankokuji Bus stop. The closest station is Umesako by JR Line.

Hearing the phrase, some of you might feel strange.
But in fact, that exists in the northern part of Kyoto.
A couple months ago, we visited some places that have been slept on our old bucket list for a long time. They are Ine No Funaya and Amanohashidate in northern Kyoto.
Last year, I posted two travel videos about Kyoto, but definitely, you can see more different sides of the city here in the Tango peninsula.
The natural land bridge created over thousands of years and a small fishing village with a collection of boathouses built right on the water.
I’m so glad to finally share with you our wonderful experiences and showcase the beauty of Kyoto by the sea. Have fun!

Kinosaki:
Kinosaki, which has a history of 1300 years and is the birthplace of hot spring tours, is famous for its outdoor hot springs. After wearing a Yukata and enjoying the outdoor hot springs, the fresh seafood and Tajima beef shabu-shabu banquet dishes, which is local brand beef, are the best.
Izushi:
Izushi, a castle town that has prospered as Little Kyoto in Tajima for a long time, is famous for its Soba restaurant. We also visited the ruins of Izushi Castle and Genbudo, which is a national natural monument.

The Saninhonsen is a West Japan Railway Company (JR West) that runs from Kyoto Station in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, to Hatabu Station in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, via the Sea of Japan coast (Sanin region) in the China region. It is a railway line (main line) of.

山陰本線（さんいんほんせん）は、京都府京都市下京区の京都駅から中国地方の日本海沿岸（山陰地方）を経由し、山口県下関市の幡生駅に至る西日本旅客鉄道（JR西日本）の鉄道路線（幹線）である。
在来線としての営業キロは日本最長の路線であるが、起点から終点までを通して走る優等列車の設定が史上一度もない本線の一つとなっている。区間によって乗客の流動に大きな偏りがあり、東西方向の交流が必ずしも盛んでないことや、かつての日本国有鉄道（国鉄）や現在のJR西日本が、山陽新幹線開業以降、山陰本線沿いの各都市から山陽新幹線各駅を含む山陽地方主要都市に至る鉄道路線（陰陽連絡路線）を強化してきた結果である。
幹線扱いの長大路線でありながら近代化が遅れたことや、ローカル色あふれる風光明媚な車窓風景とあいまって、鉄道ファンであった作家の宮脇俊三は「偉大なるローカル線」と山陰本線を評した。この表現は山陰本線の実情をよく表したものとして、大方の鉄道ファンから賛同を得ている。
