The Lower Savinja Valley is the main venue for the third stage of the Tour of Slovenia. This is the cradle of Slovenian hop growing. At its centre is Žalec, the town with the world’s first beer fountain. This stage initially turns towards the former coal mining districts of Velenje, which is now becoming a green destination. The ride between hop fields and industrial centres ends in Celje, the town of the Counts of Celje and numerous other interesting personalities who have attained worldwide fame.

Liubliana (Ljubljana) a cidade amada - Ljubljana | Eslovenia - Ep 1
A Eslovenia é um país pequeno e pouco conhecido. Sua capital tem um nome diferente Liubliana (Ljubljana) que no esloveno antigo significa a cidade amada.
Eslovenia é o único país no mundo que tem a palavra LOVE inserida em seu nome e vai ser muito fácil se apaixonar por este país.
Hoje vou visitar seu centro histórico com muitas histórias legais e no final saborear uma picanha brasileira no Open Kitchen.

Viaggio in camper a Lubiana e Zalec alla ricerca della fontana della birra

In questa breve avventura in camper sono andato alla ricerca della fontana della birra: la fontana che tutti noi vorremmo avere sotto casa.
Il viaggio è iniziato visitando Lubiana. In poco meno di un giorno ho scorazzato per le vie del centro storico della capitale slovena, ammirando i suoi punti di interesse turistico.
Per visitare Lubiana in un giorno, ho parcheggiato il camper nel parcheggio del parco Tivoli (il costo è di 2,40€/ora dalle 6 alle 20 e di €6 totali dalle 20 alle 6). Tivoli è il più grande parco della città.
Camminando per circa un chilometro e mezzo sono arrivato alla piazza Prešeren (Prešeren Trg) dove si trovano il monumento a France Prešeren e la chiesa Francescana dell'Annunciazione con la sua suggestiva facciata rossa.
Superato il ponte triplo (Tromostovje) che attraversa il fiume Ljubljanica sono arrivato alla Piazza Civica (Mestni trg). In questa, che è una delle piazze più importanti della città, si possono vedere la Fontana del Robba (Robbov vodnjak) e il Municipio di Lubiana (Mestna občina Ljubljana) sulla cui sommità vi è una piccola torre con orologio.
Ho quindi camminato lungo la Ciril-Metodov trg, una delle vie pedonali più importanti del centro storico dove si affacciano negozi, ristoranti, caffetterie e locali. Sono arrivato a costeggiare il lato sud della Cattedrale di San Nicola (Stolnica svetega Nikolaja), ovvero la cattedrale di Lubiana (katedrala Ljubljana) e sono rimasto incantato dalla caratteristica porta laterale con i ritratti dei vescovi locali.
Andando dall'altro lato della cattedrale mi sono imbattuto in quella che viene chiamata la cucina aperta (odprta kuhna), che si svolge ogni venerdì. Un concentrato di cucine all'aperto che preparano piatti di ogni tipo. Un vero paradiso per gli amanti dello street food!
A pochi passi dalla cucina aperta ci si può immergere nel mercato centrale di Lubiana aperto tutti i giorni, tranne la domenica. Di fronte al mercato si può attraversa nuovamente il fiume passando per il Ponte dei Draghi (Zmajski most) la cui leggenda narra che i draghi muovano la coda ogni volta che una vergine lo percorra.
Nuovamente ho attraversato il fiume Ljubljanica. Questa volta passeggiando per il Ponte dei Macellai (Mesarski most). Il ponte è caratterizzato dalle inquietanti statue dello scultore sloveno Jakov Brdar e dalle migliaia di lucchetti dell'amore: i lucchetti chiusi a chiave dagli innamorati per suggellare il loro amore, la cui chiave è stata gettata nel fiume.
Mi sono diretto alla biblioteca Nazionale e Universitaria di Lubiana (Narodna in univerzitetna knjižnica) la cui facciata combina pietre e macerie delle vecchie case demolite. Un'altra volta ho attraversato il fiume, tramite il ponte dei calzolai (Šuštarski most) caratterizzato da colonne di diversa altezza che formano una sorta di piazza sospesa sull'acqua. In passato il ponte era in legno e vi si trovavano le botteghe dei calzolai della città.
Il mio tour di Lubiana è proseguito con una passeggiata fino al castello che domina la città.
Nella capitale slovena ho trovato molte fontane, ma nessuna di queste era quella che cercavo. Parlando con un vecchio del posto, mi ha indicato la cittadina di Žalec come meta del mio pellegrinaggio.
Dopo circa un'ora di strada, sono arrivato a Žalec e l'ho vista: la leggendaria fontana della birra!
Ho parcheggiato di fronte agli impianti sportivi (c'è un'area sosta camper con carico/scarico gratuito. Bisogna solamente chiedere la chiave al vicino hotel. Per ottenere la chiave bisogna versare una cauzione di 20€ che viene restituita quando viene portata indietro la chiave) e con una breve passeggiata ho raggiunto la Fontana della Birra (Fontana Piva) o anche fontana in oro verde (fontana zeleno zlato), aperta dalle 10 alle 20 il lunedì, giovedì e la domenica e dalle 10 alle 21 il venerdì e sabato.
Con 8€ si possono degustare 6 birre (10cl per birra) grazie al boccale con un chip nel fondo che permette l'erogazione della birra (molte di queste sono birre artigianali di piccoli produttori sloveni. La più caratteristica è senz'ombra di dubbio la birra verde). Una volta terminata la degustazione, si potrà portare a casa il boccale come souvenir.
Un'esperienza fantastica che consiglio a chiunque ami la birra.
