We discovered the incredible city of Sibenik on our recent trip to the coast. There's so much to explore both in the city center, and in the whole Sibenik region.
Sibenik is home to two UNESCO sites, which is quite rare to have two in one city. The Cathedral of St. James, as well as the St. Nicholas Fortress are both UNESCO heritage sites in Sibenik, and are worth visiting.
After spending a couple of days in the city, we went to visit a local winery, Baraka, where Filip walked us through a fantastic wine tasting, and treated us to the most wonderful platter of meat, cheese, nuts & more.
We loved Sibenik, it's definitely a less-discovered little gem on the Adriatic.

Deseti rođendan Croatian Travel Festivala obilježavao se u Šibeniku od 10. do 13. lipnja, a proslavljen je uz bogat program, ali i uz zdravicu i pravu feštu koju je u klubu Azimut, organizirao Hrvatski klub putnika kako bi počastio veliki broj uzvanika, putnika i putopisaca koji upravo zbog CTF-a Šibenik iz godine u godinu upisuju u kalendar svojih putovanja.
Iako je pandemija mijenjala planove i kalendar gotovo svih događanja i tijekom 2021. godine, organizatoru festivala uspjelo je u Šibeniku okupiti i one koji su na festivalu već starosjedioci poput Davora Rostuhara i Jasena Boke, ali po prvi put ugostiti i neka poznata imena koja su podijelila svoje inspirativne putničke, ali i životne priče. Tako su se na pozornici tvrđave sv. Mihovila Goranu Miliću u ugodnom razgovoru pridružili proslavljeni hrvatski košarkaš Dino Rađa te jedan od najpoznatijih domaćih Chef-ova, Ivan Pažanin.
I na jubilarnom izdanju festivala dodijeljena je nagrada Dijana Klarić u pet kategorija, a novost je bila nova festivalska pozornica postavljena podno predivne katedrale sv. Jakova, s kojom se oduševila publika, ali i gosti koji su tijekom razgovora s moderatoricom Vlatkom Vužić, uživali u pogledu na šibenski kanal sv. Ante. Takav pogled i takvu odličnu atmosferu možete doživjeti samo u Šibeniku, zaključili su brojni sudionici koji se raduju novom festivalskom izdanju u rujnu 2022. godine.

Šibenik historically known as Sebenico is a historic city in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia, where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. Šibenik is a political, educational, transport, industrial and tourist center of Šibenik-Knin County, and is also the third-largest city in the Dalmatian region. As of 2011, the city has 34,302 inhabitants, while the municipality has 46,332 inhabitants.
Šibenik has a mediterranean climate (Csa), with mild, humid winters and hot, dry summers. January and February are the coldest months, July and August are the hottest months. In July the average maximum temperature is around 30 °C (86 °F). The Köppen Climate Classification subtype for this climate is Csa (Mediterranean Climate).
The central church in Šibenik, the Šibenik Cathedral of St James, is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Several successive architects built it completely in stone between 1431 and 1536, both in Gothic and in Renaissance style. The interlocking stone slabs of the cathedral's roof were damaged when the city was shelled by Yugoslav forces in 1991. The damage has since been repaired.
