Video prikazuje sprehod po srednjeveški vasici Šmartno z značilnimi kamnitimi hišami, ozkimi ulicami in obrambnimi zidovi. Med sprehodom se vidi številne cvetlične aranžmaje, trgovine in restavracije, ki ponujajo lokalne specialitete, ter kulturni dogodki na trgu.

The traditional Rdeci Revirji festival turned 20 years old this year and here is a recap of the moments we had the pleasure to witness and take part in.
Branko Potočan, artistic and idea director of the festival, says: “The Red Districts Festival is my pride. During my creative career as a dancer and choreographer, I learned a lot and met and collaborated with domestic and foreign artists in various fields of performing arts (dance, theater, circus, clown cabaret, street theater, street interventions, street interventions, fire performances, puppet shows, and more). I felt the need and the mission to offer my place a part of this world.
When we plowed the furrow twenty years ago, it was difficult, we established cooperation with local partners and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, local communities, and sponsors, year after year built the importance and visibility of the festival.
Art and culture connect people, so after 10 years we expanded the festival in the neighboring municipalities of Trbovlje and Zagorje and it became Zasavski.
Today, the Red Districts are recognizable in Zasavje and beyond, in addition to Slovenian and foreign artists are coming, local groups and individuals are also participating en masse. The purpose of the festival remains the cooperation and connection of people, to offer them new experiences and insights, insight into artistic creations, and socializing with artists from near and far. We will continue to persevere, increase the visibility and importance in the region with quality, build an audience and invite others who want to experience culture in Zasavje. ”

We were on our second roadtrip of 2022 trough Europe. The Balkan to be precise! Feel the different vibes through your screen when we visit Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina!
We visited a lot of well known and lesser known places in Slovenia, like the Triglav National Park, The Zelenci Nature Reserve, Savica Waterfall, Lake Bohinj, Lake Bled and many other places.
In this video I take you with me on our journey into one of the most beautiful countries in Europe! I try to provide you with fun facts and good practical tips. We will finish the video with a GOLDEN hour in Makarska (Croatia).

SAN GIOVANNI DI DUINO (San Zuanne di Duino)
La zona in cui il Timavo, il fiume sotterraneo, riappariva in superficie era per gli antichi luogo di culto e di preghiera. Strabone e Virgilio ricordano l'arrivo alle sorgenti del Timavo di Antenore, il futuro fondatore di Padova, che qui costruì un tempio dedicato a Diomede. Fece voto proprio al dio Timavo, invece, il console Tuditano, fermatosi alle foci del fiume sotterraneo prima di una spedizione militare contro i Giapidi, nel 129 a.C. Tornato vincitore dedicò all'impresa una lapide e una statua. Sempre alle sorgenti i fedeli si dedicavano al culto di Saturno e della Speranza Augusta.
Nell'area sorse anche una piccola basilica, costruita verso la metà del V secolo. La basilica, accolse le reliquie dei santi Giovanni Evangelista e Giovanni Apostolo, a cui poi si aggiunsero quelle di San Stefano, San Biagio, San Giorgio e San Lorenzo.
Oggi di quella splendida basilica paleocristiana ci rimangono i pavimenti a mosaico, giochi policromi sulla base di originali motivi geometrici. La basilica, e il monastero che era stato costruito al suo fianco, furono devastate prima dai Longobardi e poi dagli Ungari.
Nel 1112 il patriarca Vodolrico ordinò i lavori di ricostruzione della chiesa. In quell'occasione furono ritrovate le preziose reliquie, poi sistemate in una sorta di arca, che fungeva da altare principale della chiesa. L'edificio fu modificato per volontà dei Walsee, signori di Duino, che aggiunsero un'imponente abside gotica. Altre modifiche giunsero nel XVI e XVII secolo, quando fu innalzato il campanile.
La chiesa fu pesantemente danneggiata durante gli scontri del 1917: gli affreschi andarono tutti perduti.
Gorizia - Stadt an der Grenze
Wir besuchen die Stadt Gorizia in Italien. Früher war die Stadt auch unter dem Namen Görz bekannt. Die Grenze zwischen Italien und Slowenien geht über den Bahnhofsvorplatz des ehemaligen Staatsbahnhofes Görz, dem heutigen Bahnhof Nova Gorica.
