Kamnik, Slovenia
The town of Kamnik is surrounded on one side by hills, and on the other by a high ridge of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps (Kamniško-Savinjske Alpe).
Kamnik is one of the most beautiful medieval cities of Slovenia preserved to our days. The most beautiful part of the city is certainly its old center. Narrow streets and red-tiled houses have preserved the unique spirit of the Middle Ages to this day.
Kamnik is the center of Slovenian beekeeping. Here they breed carnian bees (Apis mellifica carnica), which were still bred by the Romans in the eastern Alps. Today, this breed is called kranjska bee.

Camping Pezdirc Griblje - river Kolpa
- Campsite Pezdirc is located in the village Griblje, 4 km away from village Gradec and 10 km from towns Metlika and Crnomelj. It lays on the banks of Kolpa , just before the Slovenian – Croatian border. It is located on the banks of river Kolpa which is offering refreshment in summer.
Camping in Griblje is possible on soft meadow along river Kolpa. It is best suitable for campers with tents. Camping Griblje is offering large place for picnic and social events, they will even support you with needed logistics and organization. It can be larger families, companies or even weddings.
River Kolpa is great for various activities, while neighborhood is appropriate for exploring with bike or on foot. At the bathing place Griblje you can go swimming in the river, fishing or rowing (you can rent a canoe).
From the sports infrastructure you can choose between volleyball, badminton, football and table football.
In bar Breg (at the bathing place) free wireless internet is accessible. Shop is about 3km from the campsite (Podzemelj). Close by it is possible to rent an apartment as well (10 min walk away).

Radovljica City Centre, Slovenia ~ 4K Virtual Walk
A walk through Radovljica (or Radol'ca) City Centre.
Radovljica is a medieval town on the doorstep of the Julian Alps. It is known as Sweet Radovljica (Radol'ca) since it is a center of beekeeping and chocolate. It has many great museums and other tourist attractions like Chocolate Festival, Pharmacy and Alchemy Museum, Lectar Workshop and Museum, and Museum of Apiculture. The town has picturesque houses, a mansion and the only preserved defense moat in Slovenia.

Glamping Maleric - Bela krajina, Slovenia
Glamping Maleric is set in the village Podlog near Dragatus, 9 km from Crnomelj, region Bela krajina. Guests can rent glamping homes for 4 + 2 persons and apartments for 2 or 4 persons.
Glamping accepts the Avtokampi Camping Card, which will make holidays more affordable. The discount is listed at the price list of the glamping house, and you can order free camping card HERE
Glamping homes combine modern design and functionality, and the materials used are of the highest quality. Each home sleeps up to four people and has two extra beds for kids. The homes are 40 m² in size and have an 18 m² outdoor terrace.
Each glamping home includes a living room with kitchen and dining area, a bathroom, a bedroom and a children's room. Dogs are allowed in the glamping homes at an extra cost.
For a perfect and unforgettable holiday, there is a natural pond in front of the homes, where you can relax from the stress of everyday life and go for a swim. Guests of the glamping homes also have free use of one of the jacuzzi next to the pond, as well as the indoor swimming pool near the cottages.
They also have 6 beautifully furnished apartments, out of the traditional accommodation. Two are smaller apartments for 2 + 1 person, two are for 4 people and two are for 4 + 1 person. The apartments are also fully equipped with kitchen facilities (cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and all necessary crockery and cutlery), bathroom facilities (towels, soap and hairdryer), bed linen, TV, internet connection, telephone and air conditioning. Dogs are also allowed in the apartments at an extra charge.
On the ground floor of the building there is a reception, a common room (can accommodate 30 people), where there is also a fireplace and a wood-burning stove. It is possible to use the shared kitchen. There is also a recreation room and a wellness area with a small indoor pool, Finnish and infrared saunas and a jacuzzi.
The entire surroundings of the Glamping Maleric site offer many interesting sightseeing tours of the Belokranjska natural heritage and excursions, both by bike and on foot. You can also visit the renovated Kostel Castle.
Galamping Maleric offers bicycle and boat rental, as well as rowing and rafting within 10 km. The Lahinja and Kolpa Landscape Parks are nearby, and a tennis court is 1 km away. Throughout the year, interesting events take place in Bela Krajina.
Glamping Maleric - Dragatus - Slovenia
- Glamping Maleric lies in the village Podlog pri Dragatusu, which is 9 km from Crnomelj. The guests can rent glamping houses for 4 +2 persons and apartments for 2 oz. 4 people.
Glamping homes are modern in design as well as functional, they were developed by Slovene designers. Each mobile home can host up to 4 adults and have two additional beds. It is 40 m2 large and have terrace of 18 m2. They have living room with kitchen and dining room, bathroom and two bedrooms. Dogs are allowed to stay in mobile homes with supplement payment.
For perfect getaway nice lake is arrange in front of mobile homes, where you can relax and swim.
From classic accommodation you can choose among 6 apartments of different size. They are fully and richly equipped and furnished. Two apartments are smaller for 2+1 person, two for 4 person and two for 4+1 persons. Kitchen in apartments has all needed equipment (cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, all needed dishes with plates and cutlery), bathroom appliances (towels, soaps and hair dryer), bed linens, television, internet connection, telephone and air-conditioning.
Reception is on ground floor of the house as well as common place with fire place and bread oven for up to 30 people. Everyone can use kitchen and recreational room with wellness (finish and infra sauna, whirlpool).
Surroundings offer options for interesting trips for exploring the natural and cultural sights as well as cycling and hiking trips. You can rent a bike or boat at the reception, while rafting and rowing is possible 10km from the campsite. Close by are natural parks Lahinja and Kolpa, tennis court is 1km away.

- Glamping Kolpa Resort is new Slovenian glamping that is arranged in village Krasinec that is located just next to the main road that is leading you from Metlike to Crnomelj and around 500m from river Kolpa. Guests can stay in modern glamping tents and glamping wooden houses.
Glamping Kolpa Resort has great location on the premises on previous castle that enables just enough privacy and at the same time great views on neighbouring hills and valleys.
In glamping Kolpa Resort it is possible to choose among three glamping tents for 5 people. Each has bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms and terrace. Guests will all enjoy natural swimming pond, mini bar, reading corner, children’s wooden playground, bunny farm and open fire for common evenings at the fireplace. Dogs are not allowed in glamping tents.
Six wooden glamping huts large enough for 4 persons are built in traditional style of Bela Krajina. Each wooden house has mini kitchen, while sanitary facilities are shared.
Proximity of river Kolpa enables many activities in and on the water, wonderful cycling paths just next to the camp, paintball, back horse riding, close by is adrenaline park Podzemelj and sport fishing in neighbouring ponds. All this complemented with friendly people, good local food and drinks. More than enough reasons to visit this idealistic part of Slovenia.

Črnomelj
Črnomelj (nemško: Tschernembl) je mesto v jugovzhodni Sloveniji. Je sedež Občine Črnomelj. Občina je v središču območja Bele Krajine, jugovzhodnega dela tradicionalne regije Dolenjske.
Arheološki dokazi kažejo, da je bilo območje poseljeno od pozne bronaste dobe, naselje pa se postopoma razvija skozi železno dobo. Natančno leto uničenja naselja iz železne dobe s strani Rimljanov ni znano. Dokazi kažejo, da je bilo uničeno bodisi med akcijo Oktavijcev proti Ilircem, Tiberijevem pohodu v Panonijo, bodisi v velikem ilirskem uporu, torej v časovnem obdobju med 35 pr.n.št. in 9.
Prvič je bil omenjen kot Schirnomel v pisnih dokumentih iz leta 1228, v listini, ki jo je izdal oglejski patriarh. Pred letom 1277 so mu podelili tržne pravice in se je razvil v regijsko središče. Kot mesto se omenja leta 1407, zato je pred tem domnevno pridobil mestne privilegije. V 16. stoletju je imel pomemben vojaški položaj kot eno izmed središč za organiziranje zalog za vojaško mejo. Po ustanovitvi Karlovca na Hrvaškem leta 1579 je izgubil ta položaj.
Črnomelj je bil tudi dom močne plemiške družine von Tschernembl. Prvič omenjeni leta 1267 so postopoma dosegli pomembne položaje v habsburškem plemstvu na Kranjskem. V 15. stoletju so razširili svoj vpliv in eden od glav družine, Georg von Tschernembl, je zasedel položaje tržaškega kapitana in štajerskega stotnika, enih najpomembnejših dežel Habsburžanov. V 16. stoletju so se pridružili protestantskemu plemstvu Notranje Avstrije in leta 1564 je Hans von Tschernembl prodal svoja številna imetja na Kranjskem in se preselil v Zgornjo Avstrijo. Tam se je leta 1567 rodil najpomembnejši in najbolj znan član družine Georg Erazmus von Tschernembl, pomemben politični vodja protestantskega plemstva Zgornje in Spodnje Avstrije. Po njegovi smrti leta 1626 je družina ponovno postala katoliška in si povrnila izgubljeno imetje v Zgornji Avstriji.
Zadnji moški član družine je umrl leta 1667, toda prek številnih ženskih potomcevv se je njihova krvna linija nadaljevala v nekatere kraljeve hiše današnje Evrope. Za nemškega pisatelja Gottlieba Augusta Crüwella in njegovo delo Schönwiesen, ki je bilo tiskano v Berlinu leta 1911, so bili zgled propadlega plemstva 18. stoletja.

This small town sits on a peninsula on Slovenia's Adriatic coast. The orange-shingled rooftops evoke impressions from Dubrovnik and other Balkan sea towns. Piran is one big old town with medieval city walls, a city square, a church and bell tower (Zvonik Campanile Bell Tower), and plenty of restaurants and cafes lining the streets. It is a must see stop anything you're in this part of the world.

This Locomotive is now a museum piece in Slovenia. It rode from Zgrajena to Dunaju.

The Belokranj railway line was built in 1914. Until the 1960s, the railway was almost the only means of transport, apart from farm wagons. Only steam locomotives were used for traction on the Belokrajna line for the first six decades. The last steam train ran on this line in 1978. More than 30 different steam locomotives ran along the Belokrajna line.
In front of the railway station in Črnomelj, since 1983, the museum steam locomotive type 25-018 has been standing. This decommissioned locomotive was in operation for almost 60 years, for a long time, it ran on the Dolenj lines. Its special feature is that its steam boiler was used during the war to drive a locomobile, which supplied Črnomelj with electricity via a generator. The locomotive was built in 1921 in Vienna, it is over 17 meters long, weighs 78 tons, and reached a speed of 60 km/h. This year, it was repainted and restored to its former glory...
