Friday night on 19.03.2021 a vulcano erupted in Iceland in Fagradalsfjall mountains area. Sunday morning I took a 3 hour difficult hike to see this once in a lifetime wonder of the earth. ICELANDIC VOLCANO ERUPTION 4K - Flying through the lava
After weeks of thousands of earthquakes on the peninsula of Reykjanes in Iceland on March 19th 2021 the ground opened up and the lava reached the surface. The volcano of GELDINGADALIR at the FAGRADALSFJALLI was born. Right after I heard from the eruption I flew to Iceland waited for the end of my quarantine and then I spent several days and nights at the volcano. It was such an incredible adventure. Every day the volcano looked completely different.
Spelling mistake: Sorry for the embarrassing misspelling on the 3rd title (it's way to the surface) - Youtube don't let me exchange the video, so please just overlook it ;-)
Volcano name - Also I need to say that the volcano I filmed has no name yet. It's located in the valley of Geldingadalir close to the mountain Fagradalsfjall - it's a bit tricky to name the movie without an official volcano name. :-)
For this footage I brought 3 Mavic 2 Pro drones with me. One was „sacrificed“ for the very close up shots. As those flights through the lava spray were pure luck and the drones records the footage internally I recorded the screen of my remote control that in case of loosing it I would at least have the final shots saved on my mobile phone. But this lucky bee survived to the very end. The drone is completely melted from the outside and there are so many malfunctions and errors that it’s funny to fly - BUT it still flies and captures photos and videos.
ATTENTION: You are NOT allowed to use any of this footage without purchasing a license - this also applies for non-commercial use. Any use without a license for commercial or non-commercial/private use will be prosecuted by the lawyers team of photoclaim. Of course it is allowed to embed or share the original youtube-link to my movie on my channel but it is not allowed to use any Youtube-Download tools and upload or edit my footage in any form. My footage has been featured in well-known TV-Productions (BBC, TerraX,...) and in multiple projects of globally active organizations (Google LTD, Hisense, BMW, WWF,...).
Sorry for the watermark, but I have some serious issues with people stealing my footage and selling it illegally on Shutterstock. We are currently conducting a major lawsuit against Shutterstock. The injunction was submitted in summer 2020. Thank you for your understanding.

Stromboli volcano (Italy) erupts in spectacular fireworks - January 2019
A very strong strombolian explosion from Stromboli volcano on the evening of 20 Jan 2019 from the westernmost vents. Glowing bombs are flying far above the horizon, i.e. reach much more than 150 m height, probably close to 250-300 m for some.
Stromboli has been in an elevated state of activity since early January 2019, and there is plenty of evidence that magma is standing high inside its conduits.

EPIC DRONE CRASH into ICELAND VOLCANO ERUPTION | DJI FPV 4K
Watch the brand new DJI FPV drone crash right into the exploding lava fountain of Iceland's newest volcano - Fagradalsfjall in the Geldingadalir valley. This unique HD footage provides a rare view right into the volcano's caldera and lava fountain during one of its geysir-like eruptions.
FPV drones are notorious for crashing, it is part of the hobby. So in an effort to get a unique vantage point and perspective into the crater we flew this remarkably capable drone as close to the lava river and caldera as possible. One of it turned out to be it's very last flight. At least the goggles record a great 1080p image allowing us to actually capture the last seconds the drone saw.

Langihryggur is to the east of Grindavík by the site of the 2021 eruption in Fagradalsfjall. Looks west towards Grindavík, Þorbjörn and Svartsengi.
Bottom left:
Fagradalsfjall is on Mt. Þorbjörn looking at Sundhnúkar
Top right, upper (multiple options):
Reykjanesviti is on the far west of the peninsula looking east towards Svartsengi

Cameras are always in color.
Various sources of steam are visible in the views, they are from the power plants and geothermal areas and are normal.
After dark the lightbeam of the Reykjanesviti (a lighthouse, 69m a.s.l.) will be visible sweeping the frame in a constant pattern. Other lighthouses around the peninsula can sometimes be seen in any of the views.
Just north of Grindavík is a large intensily lit greenhouse, it will also sometimes reflect in fog or low clouds. To the west of Grindavík are large communications masts with red hazard lights.

Red pulsing circle on map? It's the location of the latest EQ.
Colors in list? Yellow = updated, Orange = just added, Blue = just updated, Green = In view on map, White = Not in view
What's aM? Estimated magnitude from the automatic system (Mw scale)
No new EQs? We might have a delay in getting new data, this sometimes happens (like at midnight) and EQs will be delayed for about 20 minutes.
What are the triangles? White triangles are peaks, green/yellow/orange and red triangles are volcanic systems with colour showing their aviation alert status

Volcán Popocatépetl, whose name is the Aztec word for smoking mountain, rises 70 km SE of Mexico City to form North America's 2nd-highest volcano. The glacier-clad stratovolcano contains a steep-walled, 400 x 600 m wide crater. The generally symmetrical volcano is modified by the sharp-peaked Ventorrillo on the NW, a remnant of an earlier volcano. At least three previous major cones were destroyed by gravitational failure during the Pleistocene, producing massive debris-avalanche deposits covering broad areas to the south. The modern volcano was constructed south of the late-Pleistocene to Holocene El Fraile cone. Three major Plinian eruptions, the most recent of which took place about 800 CE, have occurred since the mid-Holocene, accompanied by pyroclastic flows and voluminous lahars that swept basins below the volcano. Frequent historical eruptions, first recorded in Aztec codices, have occurred since Pre-Columbian time.
This volcano is located within the Las Volcanes, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve property.
Iztaccíhuatl is a dormant volcanic located on the border between the State of Mexico and Puebla within Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park. It is the nation's third highest, after Pico de Orizaba at 5,636 m (18,491 ft), and Popocatépetl at 5,426 m (17,802 ft).
The name Iztaccíhuatl is Nahuatl for White woman, reflecting the four individual snow-capped peaks which depict the head, chest, knees and feet of a sleeping female when seen from east or west. Iztaccíhuatl is to the north of its twin Popocatépetl, to which it is connected by the high altitude Paso de Cortés. Depending on atmospheric conditions Iztaccíhuatl is visible much of the year from Mexico City some 70 km (43 mi) to the northwest. The first recorded ascent was made in 1889, though archaeological evidence suggests the Aztecs and previous cultures climbed it previously. It is the lowest peak containing permanent snow and glaciers in Mexico.

Sakurajima is an active stratovolcano, formerly an island and now a peninsula, in Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan. The volcano erupted on Feb 14, 2024, with plumes rising to 5,000 meters above the summit crater. The Volcanic lightning you see arises from colliding, fragmenting particles of volcanic ash (and sometimes ice), which generate static electricity within the volcanic plume.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said volcanic ashes fell in parts of Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima prefectures. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to buildings.
