4 months backpacking in South America | Chile - Argentina - Patagonia - Bolivia - Peru - Brazil
A little snapshot of 4 months backpacking in South America, as part of our 10-month career break.
Starting in July 2017, we travelled to Chile (including Patagonia), Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Brazil. Along the way, we collected random footage with our GoPro 4, not knowing how to make a video or how it'd turn out.
Fun fact: When we arrived at Machu Picchu, after days of hiking, our GoPro went flat! So we filmed a few seconds on our Sony Cybershot camera.

Tucan Travel South America Express Tour - Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina & Brazil
I took Tucan Travel's 'South America Express' tour this April and it was absolutely amazing.
Start: PERU. Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, Peruvian Dancers
2:42 : BOLIVIA. Zip-lining at Death Road, Uyuni salt flats, deserts & lakes, hot springs.
8:29 : CHILE. Valley of the Moon, Sandboarding.
9:49 : ARGENTINA. White Water Rafting in Mendoza with Potrerillos Explorer Rafting
11:52 : BRAZIL. Boat trip at Iguassu Falls
16:00 : Hang gliding with Estilo Voo Livre in Rio de Janeiro.
This compilation includes amazing views, terrible first attempts at sandboarding, my first hang gliding experience and hilariously wet boat trips. Note to self - pack waterproof mascara.
This is the first time I've really made any effort with a GoPro and my filming is painfully shaky (sorry) but it's taught me some lessons for the next attempt!

Backpacking South America | 13 COUNTRIES IN 3 MINUTES + Budget and information | HD GOPRO Backpaco
In 2014 my best friend and I decided to head out for the trip of a lifetime to live the dream. At first, our objective was to leave 8 months and to go around all of South-America. Because of my university semester, we ended up leaving 4 months and a half; not quite as long as initially planned but we still managed to go all around the continent at a pace where we felt we explored everything we wanted to.
Before the trip I bought a GoPro since I love filming and being creative about it. I felt compelled to share my experience and to keep the shots as souvenirs. I also decided to record all spending on excel sheets to keep track and be able to help other travelers out afterwards.
We traveled the following countries
If you are wondering, the total cost of the trip was 9500 USD (this amount also includes the 8 flights and all the gear we bought before leaving; backpack, GoPro, vaccines.) For that price we had 135 days of restaurants, crazy activities and parties. We probably could have done it for under 6000$ by cutting of a few things. You can get detailed information about the trip at the fallowing link:
South America has so much to offer and many regions made us feel as if we were some of the first explorers to reach them. The higest waterfalls, glaciers and massive peaks, epic deserts and the Amazonian Forest; just writing these lines make me want to go back so bad.
I ended up learning Spanish so honestly that amount is a sound investment for that price... and all that came with it!

Went Backpacking 9 Weeks 6 Countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Galapagos Islands.
Travel by bus and plane mostly and stayed in some good and bad hostels.
Started in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and enjoyed the beautiful beaches then traveled inland towards to border of Argentina where we saw both sides of the magical Iguazu Falls. Next stop was Buenos Aires, Argentina where we lived the culture of Tango and amazing food. Next stop was Southern Argentina, Patagonia area. which turned out to be my favorite place of the whole trip. El Chalten and the whole area was so incredibly beautiful and a must see. Next we went into Chile and got to experience a balance of Santiago's city life and the colorful coastal city of Valparaiso. On to wine country back into Argentina where we road bikes from winery to winery until it probably wasn't safe to ride anymore. Heading north we flew into the high elevations of La Paz, Bolivia and took an adventure trek to the amazing Salar de Uyuni, salt flats and geysers. Next stop was the historic ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru and finally capped out the trip on two different Islands in the beautiful Galapagos Islands. A trip of a lifetime with my favorite person in the world!

South America; Chile-Bolivia-Peru | GoPro
A couple of weeks in Chile working up from Santiago north. Before exploring Bolivia, seeing the amazon (still covered in scars from mosquito overload) and lots of incredible animals. Then two weeks in Peru spending 5 of them trekking Salkantay to Machu Picchu. South America had some of the most amazing colours and markets and lovely people everywhere. You could climb a mountain in freezing cold and come down in hot rainforests. The climates were different everywhere, getting especially chilly and hard to breathe at almost 5000m! Have to say we were all super excited for some american food (but fried guinea pig was yummy!) but have loved South America and would surreeee like to go back some day!
Hi to Justine, Momo and Diago, just a little snippet of you guys but so great to meet you, maybe see you all again in Belgium or if you come to England! Hope you enjoy the rest of your travels! X

Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Peru: Backpacking South America
A year after my charity trek and backpacking escipades in the far east. I strapped on my backpack once again and headed to the southern hemisphere, South America. This was another place on my dream map I'd wanted to visit for quite sometime. It was a 5 week journey that began in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I went over the boarder into Argentina to visit the famous Iguassu waterfalls. In Chile I flew out to Easter Island AKA Rapa Nui in the Pacific ocean. It's so far the furthest place I've ever travelled too.
Back on the main land I ventured to the most southern part of the continent known as Patagonia to see the Torres Del Paine National park. And finally after travelling around Peru where my trip ended. I went to see the ruins of the lost city of the Incas known as Machu Pichu!
