Zimbabwe is a country in Southern Africa. It is landlocked and is surrounded by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the Southwest, Zambia to the Northwest, and Mozambique to the east and north.
The Zambezi river forms the natural boundary with Zambia and when in full flood (February-April) the massive Victoria Falls on the river forms the world's largest curtain of falling water. The Victoria Falls are a major tourist attraction.
Once known as the Breadbasket of Africa, since 2000, Zimbabwe has undergone an economic collapse and the rule of law has gradually but largely broken down, although there have been a few signs of improvement since the theoretical formation of a unity Government in 2009 and the Zimbabwean economy has been on the rebound. GDP grew by more than 5% in the year 2010 and 2011, from a very low base. Growth is forecast to increase, buoyed by high mineral prices and the improving agriculture sector.

I Just Became A Trillionaire In Zimbabwe (#176)
Maybe you've heard about inflation in Argentina or Venezuela, or 1920s Germany if you're old school. Yeah, those countries had a crazy situation, but none of them come close to Zimbabwe, a country that really puts the hyper in hyperinflation. The largest bill they ever printed, which is also the largest in history, was 100 trillion dollars, which at it's peak was worth $0.80. Nowadays it goes for much more as a collector's item.
This was all I had ever heard about Zimbabwe. But that was more the result of one man's poor economic policies. What were the people of Zimbabwe like? What does the country look like in 2024? How is the food and matakos? Due to the turbulent history the country had with race, I was a little nervous flying in. But there was only one way to find out..

ADDRESS: Deka Drum Village
???????? ZIMBABWEAN BREAD: In a bowl, mix maize meal, flour, salt, sugar, and water.
On coals, place a pot. In the pot add flour. Then pour in the mixture above. Cover with a plate and put coal on top. Let cook for 20 min.
???????? PORRIDGE: In a pot, add Sinka then pour in hot water and cover. Then place it on fire. Remove the sica and bring water to a boil. Once boiling, pour in a maize meal. Add sugar and mix.
???????? FRIED TILAPIA: In a pot, add flour. Separately, filet the Tilapia. Add salt. Roll in flour. Then place it in a pot with oil. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg. Remove fish and then roll in egg yolk. Place back in the pot to lightly fry.
???????? DRIED TILAPIA: Scale, filet, lay the fish on a rack. Dry it over a fire for 4 hours and place it in the sun every day.
???????? FRIED GUINEA FOWL: Bowl the guinea fowl and de-feather. Cut into pieces. Roll in flour and fry with a little oil.
???????? STEAMED TILAPIA: Scale the tilapia and cut it in half. Add to a pot, with salt and a little water. Boil. Add tomato seasoning and boil a bit more. Plate with sadza.

All you need to know about An Eye for the Wild Rehab & Sanctuary (which is another Zimbabwe travel destination in Kwekwe, Midlands) is shared in this vlog by a Zimbabwean Travel Youtuber.
As you will see in the video, I was shattered when I received the message while standing by their gate that actually they do not open on Thursdays... Oh I was so broken because this could have been said way earlier in our several communications. However, one of the owners was extremely kind and apologetic that I ended up making what would later become one of the best decisions on this 4 provinces expedition we had embarked on. Seeing all the animals in the sanctuary, it was an amazing & inspiring learning experience. This family is hands on, literally sacrificing their own comfort & so many other things for wildlife's wellbeing & for us to learn more about the beauty our country has. ????????PEACOCK (MASSA DISH): Use three sticks to make a tripod and fold some sticks to make a rack. Put the tripod on the fire and place the peacock meat on the rack to smoke.
????????PEACOCK (BOILED DISH): Place the meat in a water pot. Season with salt and chili powder. Add more water and pepper. Put the pot on the fire and squeeze some lime on top. Add more flour liquid.
????????PEACOCK (PRESERVED): Cut the smoking meat,, then put honey on the meat & keep the meat for up to a month

One of my BEST trips! ~ ZIMBABWE
From living on houseboats on a crocodile infested lake surrounded by elephants, to trekking with wild rhinos, to hanging off the edge of a one of the largest waterfalls in the world! It was absolutely insane and one of my best trips. I also like to think I’m getting better at putting a story together for these videos. 12 days of overlanding on a big yellow truck throughout the best Zimbabwe has to offer! I highly recommend going here.

Banjul is the capital city of the Gambia, a small West African country bordered by Senegal. The city sits on an island where the Gambia River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Its colonial buildings include the National Museum, dedicated to Gambian culture and history. Vendors at the lively Albert Market sell colorful textiles and local produce. The city's main entrance is marked by the immense, columned Arch 22 gateway.
I am on a mission to visit 21 countries in 2021 telling the African story the African way. So far I have done 6 countries. 15 remaining.

“Rossiiskii” significa “ruso”. El asentamiento con este nombre tan patriótico está situado en la ciudad de Krasnodar, que es una de las más ricas de Rusia. Sin embargo, el nombre del asentamiento ni el presupuesto de Krasnodar de $640 millones no permite arreglar todos los problemas de la zona. Accident - Broken suspension from hitting jagged pothole
This Honda Jazz hit a deep, jagged pothole on the bridge over the Moperi river on the R26 from Golden Gate to Ladybrand, which tore the front left suspension mountings, causing the wheel to collapse and put the car into a skid. Fortunately the lady managed to stop safely. This R26 is 200km of bad potholes, very tiring to drive. It's in a shocking, disgraceful state.
