You Wouldn't Believe Restaurant Like This Exists In Hungary!! BEST Duck + Goulash Soup!

If you are looking for the best Hungarian food and quality service along with spectacular atmosphere, with traditional folk music playing in the background while you enjoy your food.. This is the place to be.. Sári Csárda! Satisfaction at its fullest. In this video I had arrived in a village at a beautiful wooden Hungarian restaurant with horses on the fields and so much open space and greenery. I wasin search for a traditional Hungarian experience and I believe I sure did find the right place. The exterior and interior was absolutely eye catching. I realised inside the restaurant had some Hungarian decorations. For starters I ordered a traditional Hungarian Goulash beef soup which was really creamy and rich, the beef was absolutely delicious. For my main course I had ordered duck which was actually the best duck I ever tried. The meat was so soft, juicy and tender served with kapusta (red cabbage) with mashed potatoes and creamy sauce, the presentation of the food was outstanding. I had a Hungarian beer called Dreher and shot of their traditional peach palinka (brandy). While I was enjoying my meal I was listening to traditional Hungarian music which they were playing on background and that also gave it a traditional Hungarian feeling.

How Do Slovak Villagers React To a Black Foreigner??

A foreigner travelling in the most remote villages tourists don’t go. Borinka is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Malacky District in the Bratislava Region, at the foothills of the Little Carpathians, best known for the Pajštún Castle, and has many weekend homes. Dračí hrádok are another castle ruins located in its vicinity. People would like to know about my travels in Europe if I have ever came across any racism or do I find it hard, well here it is. This is the case in most of my travels in the villages and going remote places and literally just anywhere in general. You will find the answer in this video.

EXCLUSIVE Traditional Slovak Food In UNESCO Village

Dining at restaurant in the Ružomberok region in Slovakia a place called Vlkolínec which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with folk architecture dating from the 14th century. Vlkolínec situated in the centre of Slovakia, is a remarkably intact settlement with the traditional features of a Central European village. It is the region’s most complete group of these kinds of traditional log houses, often found in mountainous areas. This place reminds me of Čičmany in regards of it being a place of history and well preserved folk wood architecture. It is a remarkably well preserved rural medieval settlement featuring wooden architecture typical of hillside and mountain areas. Its layout, defined in part by the hilly terrain of the mountains of Veľká Fatra, features log houses situated on narrow lots with stables, barns and smaller outbuildings in the rear. A canalized stream flows through the centre of the village. Although the settlement has roots in the 10th century, its first records date to the late 14th century. The urban layout can be traced to this era as records indicate five streets in place by 1469. Most of the surviving buildings, however, date from the 19th century. These include 43 nearly intact homesteads that retain a multitude of archaic building elements, the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary built in 1875, a bell tower built in 1770, and a school. Vlkolínec represents the region’s best preserved and most complex urban unit of original folk architecture consisting of wooden houses and outbuildings, the wooden bell tower and mural buildings of the church and school.
In this episode we make our way straight to the local restaurant to try then food and then we shall tour the village, interact with the locals and find out more about this history here.

HIGHLY RATED Traditional Slovak Food In Wooden Village

In this video I am located in a village called Čičmany which is a village in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. It contains a folk architecture reserve. This village touristic wooden shops and wooden restaurants available for traditional Slovak food. Next to the village stands a very steep mountain which used as a ski resort called “javorinka”. In this village they has some really interesting shops with wooden antiques and souvenirs available for the tourists coming in. I tour this village and have a look at what is in the surrounding area then plan to get traditional Slovak food. While I was there I saw the local church and pub also I was so fascinated by the wooden architecture and the wooden sculptures what were hand made in one of the tourist shops I went inside. I was able to get myself a souvenir tour the village and get traditional Slovak food. I order bryndzové pirohy, dumplings and acidko.

How Do Slovak Villagers Treat Black Foreigner (Social Experiment) ????????

In this episode I am located in Slovakia touring a village called “Lysá pod Makytou” which is a village and municipality in Púchov District in the Trenčín Region of north-western Slovakia close to Púchov. I was searching where I could find Traditional Slovak food in that region and the locals directed me to a place called “Salaš Nimnic.” My choice of traditional Slovak food was Halušky. Bryndzové halušky is a traditional dish with dumplings which is known as Knedlík which can be foods in many Central and Eastern European cuisines such as Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania.

Grandpa Showed Me The Best Slovak Drive-Though Wooden Restaurant ????????

Will I be satisfied with this restaurant that was recommended to me by a local grandpa? Find out from my experience from watching this video. As you know from the previous video I was hanging out in a village called Borinka, near Bratislava. I left the village with a super cool recommendation from one of the local villagers. He recommended me to visit a restaurant called “Biofarma Príroda Salaš Stupava” (Biofarm Nature) and that they will have the best traditional Slovak food in that region. As I arrived towards the restaurant, to me it seemed really hidden in the middle of the forest. The walk to the Biofarm Salaš was a nice calming relaxing journey as I get a chance to see the wild animals (deers) in the nationally protected area in the forests, than I saw the sign “Salaš Drive through.” As I arrive on the establishment I saw that everything inside was wooden. As I got on the premises I couldn’t believe how big it was. I was really hungry but first of all I was so excited to have a look around the farm and look at all the animals. So I decided to look at some of the animals first, I came across house rabbits, hens, gooses, ducks, chickens, goats, horses, pigs, wild hogs, it was really cool because I was not expecting such a place. After I saw what animals they had on the farm I made my way towards the restaurant. As I approached the restaurant the smell of traditional Slovak food greeted me and for that reason I was really looking forward to having my food, but I saw more attractions which led me onto having a look a little further. I came across a small stall where they sold hand made wooden toys, fridge magnets and whistles for kids. Than I came across a wooden shop, I was invited inside to have a look and to my surprise they had really interesting stuff inside, such a organic Biofarm products. I found out about the history of the shop and then I decided to buy some traditional Slovak cheese (Korbáčik) and a apple drink which was really cold and refreshing, because it was 100% apple juice. Then I made my way to the restaurant where they had outdoor seating area, it was a nice sunny hot day so I decided to eat outdoors, before I ordered my meal I had a look inside and I was really fascinated, it was my kind of ideal restaurant. I order traditional Slovak food, traditional cheese drink (žinčica), beer, Slivovice and Borovička and enjoyed the atmosphere at this Salaš drive through restaurant.

What are your thoughts about Slovak food and what is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below!...

...And End Up In Another COUNTRY! Join Me On A Whistle-Stop Tour Of Slovakia's Awesome Capital City.

I had a day to explore Bratislava, Slovakia. But my wander took an unexpected turn...

FAQs:
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I was born in Glasgow but have lived in Carnoustie, Dalgety Bay, Stonehaven, Edinburgh, Montrose, and further afield (Salamanca, Spain & Devonport, New Zealand)
WHEN DO YOU UPLOAD?
Saturdays at 10am Scottish time. Occasionally a bonus midweek video will pop up (in which case, likely to be Tuesday at 5pm)
WHY IS THERE A DELAY BETWEEN TRIP AND VIDEO APPEARING?
This is a result of doing all this myself I’m afraid. Editing takes time and I also like to schedule videos a bit in advance in case of any problems/illness/cancellations etc. Keeping my uploads appearing every Saturday morning is important to me, so I don’t want anything to get in the way of it. Also, I occasionally need some time off to recover from trips!
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I film with a GoPro11 and my iPhone12. I edit on iMovie and use epidemicsound.com for music. I also use canva.com for thumbnails etc. I also have a DJI Pocket 3 (bigger sensor) for nighttime, although I’m still getting to grips with it.
WHY DON'T YOU SPEND LONGER AT DESTINATIONS?
The usual suspects I'm afraid - time and money! Hotels especially these days make my eyes water like a true Scotsman. Also my weekly upload schedule means I need to keep on the move.
WHERE'S ALICJA?
Alicja will feature whenever possible, but she has her own life and a proper job so it can take a while for our schedules to match up. Trust me though, I prefer it when She is there too!
DO YOU PAY FOR YOUR OWN TRAVEL?
Yes I do. I've only ever accepted a complementary ticket as compensation for a previous problem. All my opinions are frank and honest reflections of travel as I experience it.
WHY THE ADS?
It's my income, I can't do this for free. Notice I don’t have mid-roll ads though!
CAN I CONTACT YOU?
I used to list my email address but felt bad not having the capacity to respond to everything so took it down (and I got a LOT of spam so missed many genuine messages along the way).
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CHANNEL?
Watching my videos is of course support enough, but if you'd like to support further, I'll pop links in here for Paypal and Patreon. All kind donations are super-appreciated and will go 100% towards future filming trips.
DO YOU ACCEPT SPONSORSHIPS?
I don't like to upset the flow of my videos, so I don't even include mid-roll ads anymore (at significant loss of income to myself), so I prefer not to include sponsorships either. I'm open to a small slide at the start/end of each video, but I don't want to get into talking about products, it's something I don't like as a viewer myself (especially as a viewer who pays for YouTube Premium). So it's probably a polite no, although all of this goes out the window if you offer me something which can give me the chance to make a video for my audience that would otherwise be impossible.

Are Slovak Villagers Welcoming? (Social Experiment) ????????

Are Slovak villagers welcoming? I went to the most charming remote Slovak village to find the answer to my question. My intentions was to visit village of Vlkolinec which is unique for many reasons. The main one is that the village has wooden houses and for that reason is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage and the other reason is that the village is special for its villagers as much as 30 original villagers still live there and many more visit there as holiday house and city breakaway. Where else would be the best place to find out about the hospitality and history of the Slovak villagers?

I tour the whole village and visit the Dom UNESCO, then went to the pub for local hand crafted beer I also go to the restaurant for traditional food. I visited the local church and went to the farm to have a look at the animals, I also saw the the well which was the only source of drinking water in this village.

This place reminds me of Čičmany in regards of it being a place of history and well preserved folk wood architecture.

This is a documentary that no other content creator has documented in Vlkolínec, in the Ružomberok region of Slovakia with given permission to have secret access inside the locals private property provided with the history and information from this world UNESCO village.

Come along with me and join me on the adventure.

Best Traditional Slovak And Czech Food At 17th Century Wooden Restaurant

Dining at a 17th Century Wooden Restaurant called Valašská Koliba Fojtka in a village called Hutisko-Solanec in Czech Republic, near the Slovak border. The first mention of Fojtka, as stated in the register in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, dates back to 1621. Inside the restaurant establishment was really big as soon as I entered I saw that they had sheep on the premises and loads of wooden benches and tables for seating area, there was also a outdoor play ground for children. At this establishment I discovered that they are available for family events, cooperate events, etc. The traditional food I ordered was a Bryndza dumplings with Wallachian bacon and the soup was Wallachian sourdough with smoked meat, sausage and potatoes. This restaurant definitely meet my expectations in regards to the food, service atmosphere everything was great.

Traveling to where Eastern Europe meets West. (Bratislava, Slovakia)

This is Bratislava, Slovakia, the arguably most underrated in city Europe. We travelled here from Turkey to explore Slovakia, a former communist country (as part of Czechoslovakia) with influences from both east and west and a rich history from a beautiful corner of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, to former frontline in Cold War. Located only 80 kilometres from Vienna, Austria, Bratislava feels both central and eastern European at the same time and its hard to believe this city was separated completely from its bigger neighbour for over 50 years. Traveling here in 2023, with Slovakia part of the EU and Schengen borderless travel zone feels a world away from that period of time. Welcome to Bratislava, Slovakia
