The Amazon’s Boiling River Kills Anything That Enters

When Andrés Ruzo was a boy, his grandfather would tell him tales of a mythical city of gold deep in the heart of the Peruvian jungle. Though never believing the stories to be true, the legend of the lost city stuck with him into adulthood. Years later, as a geothermal scientist, Ruzo decided to investigate. To his surprise, he discovered an incredulous river deep in the Amazon, with water hot enough to kill a human. Historically a place of pilgrimage for shamans and sorcerers, the river now faces increasing threats from poachers, loggers and squatters. Now, Ruzo is working hard to protect it.

Amazon Rainforest in Brazil - Jungle Cruise on the Amazon River

Some impressions from our journey on the Amazon River in Brazil. Besides hundreds of photos, I also made this video, which I would like to share with you. Monkeys, sloths, parrots, tucans and pink dolphins. I got to meet all these wonderful animals in the Amazon rainforest. It felt a bit like Disney's Jungle book. But my personal highlight was the visit to an indigenous tribe in the middle of the rainforest. I am very happy about the unique footage I was able to capture on this trip. Many thanks to my client Lernidee Erlebnisreisen for making this trip possible. Here you can find more informations about the journey we did:

Have you ever visited the rainforest? What impressed you the most?

Alligator SCARE!! Florida Everglades Never Fails to Amuse and Terrify ????

Watching a Florida alligator gar (type of fish that is NOT an alligator) stalk a @Rapala Skitter walk and got the surprise of our lives in the Florida Everglades!!

You know we're from Cape Coral but, we took a day trip to the Everglades and drove around checking out fishing spots with a plastic @RapalaSkitter walk (lure), targeting Peacock Bass. We had spent a few minutes canvassing the water before we began fishing and filming... but gators are stealthy ambush hunters. As soon as he saw our guards were let down, he emerged and scared the sh** out of us!

Yes, we expected to see Gators.

No, we aren't tourists. Believe it or not we were all born and raised in the FL wilds. Just got startled by a neighbor ????

No, we did not feed, touch or harass this gator.

Yes, to your last question. Just yes.

Dehydrated Meals in the Cusco Area Only:

Video Summary:

This is a 6 day solo Amazon Rainforest journey about discovery and survival. I am on the search for the perfect canal for packrafting and for a new tour itinerary. Along the way I have to overcome various obstacles such as dangerous animals like caimans and piranhas, overgrown waterways, swamps, razor grass and deep mud. I also have to avoid Peruvian goldminers which have expanded to take up most of the Mother of God River. They are claiming plots and are now threatening any intruders with shotguns and wearing masks. For these reasons I have to choose my route carefully as my life depends on it. I'm also on the search for unspoiled wildlife and find it! I encounter various species most which are specific to lower jungle elevations such as tapirs, caimans, black skimmers, roseate spoonbills, kites, caracaras, parrots, kingfishers, taricaya turtles, squirrel monkeys, hoatzins, wattled jacanas and flycatchers.

To the tune of Man vs Wild, Alone and Naked and Afraid this is a movie I made alone without the aid of a camera crew or production. I set up the shots by myself and film as I go. There is no script and no planning beforehand. The animals show themselves when they feel like it and I try to capture it.

In addition to looking for and finding the perfect canal I find a lost oxbow lake! Oxbow lakes are the jungle's hotspots for wildlife where concentrations of animals prefer to live. Oxbow lakes are formed when a section of river becomes isolated after finding a new route around a bend of the river.

This is an educational adventure and survival video showing you that the Amazon is not as dangerous as the movies portray. Animals are scared of other animals and very scared of humans. This video shows you that a solo trip can be done and how to do it when dealing with other people, possible situations when one can get hurt, how to hammock camp and how to handle any wild animals and what the threats are.

In the style of the Discovery Channel I created this video to be more like a TV show with music and voice over techniques. There is also some scientific information about the forest animal species, river and weather characteristics. It also shows a little bit about the psychology and mindset of a person on a solo trip and mental state after a few days of being alone.

If you're looking for a true adventure through seemingly dangerous territory then this movie is for you.

The video begins in the gold mining town of Boca Colorado and continues down the Mother of God River to Pacal, CICRA (Los Amigos Biological Station) to Huitoto to J's Lake and finally ends in another gold mining town called Laberinto.

Happy exploring and be safe!

360°, Angel Falls, Venezuela. Aerial 8K video

We present you the full version of our 360° video of Angel Falls — the highest waterfall in the world. Up to this moment nobody was able to capture the Angel waterfall in 360° video format. AirPano proudly presents the world's first 360° video of the highest waterfall on the Earth. Also this is our first big project in ultra high 8K resolution...

Don't forget that this is 360° video: you can change the angle of view.

To watch the VR content in 8K you will need a very powerful computer, so most of you will keep on using 4K. Nevertheless, you may still enjoy the beauty of this remote place of our planet.

If you enjoyed this video please like, share, comment, favorite, subscribe:

We regularly publish new 360° videos of the most beautiful places on our planet!

360° photos and videos, stories of our shootings, articles and FAQ you can find on our website:

Nowadays you need extraordinary computer power for watching 8K 360° videos. If you have troubles with watching such videos, choose 4K or HD quality in the settings of your YouTube player. We hope that YouTube will find a solution for optimization this videoformat to make it watchable for common users.

Also here is the answer for a frequently asked question about true resolution of an 8K 360° video. Unlike standard videos, in a 360° video you can see only a part of original image (approximately 30 degrees out of 360). As result, the real resolution of the part you can see isn't bigger than 1.3K.

5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Grab some of our gear

Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Grab a Wolters World Shirt

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

Is it safe to swim in the Amazon River?

The Amazon River in Belem, Brazil and it was one of the most incredible adventures we’ve ever had. We were in the mouth of the Amazon also known as the Amazon Basin. This is the point where the fresh river water flows into the ocean. We are a family of Americans with 5 kids. We actually live in Salvador, Bahia Brazil for almost 2 years now. And our goal is to see as much of this beautiful country as possible. Video 128
The Amazon River is the 2nd longest river in the world (after the Nile), and the longest and largest river of South America. It flows through Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil. For most of it’s path, the Amazon River can go from 1 to 6 miles wide! During flood seasons, it can get to more than 20 miles wide (32 km) in certain places.
The volume of water pouring out of this massive river has so much force and pressure that the fresh water doesn't start to mix with the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean until 200 miles (320 km) out to sea!
Belém is the capital of the Brazilian state of Pará and in English Belém means Bethlehem. It is also the largest city in this state with a population of about 2 million people. Belém is the gateway to the mouth of the Amazon. We choose to bring our kids here because this is where my husband Chris served a 2-year mission for our church. Chris learned Portuguese, taught the people, ate the food and lived like a native. Chris’s love for Brazil started here. We brought our family to see where and how he lived and also to have an Amazon adventure.
There are many amazing points of the Amazon you can visit. I recommend Manaus as another great tourist attraction. Manaus is known as the Heart of the Amazon, where Belém is known as the mouth of the Amazon. The nature and animals are different in this section of the river. In Manaus you can see piranhas, pink dolphins, caymen and sloths. For a wonderful wildlife adventure, I recommend visiting Manaus.
We stopped at a local Cacau or coco tree farm. Coco or chocolate trees originated in the Amazon basin. Chocolate trees love shade so they thrive under big rainforest trees and get plenty of rain. We took a tour and we got to taste fresh coco fruit and even eat chocolate candy and brigadeiro made fresh on the farm. They showed us how they harvest and dry the coco beans. Fresh amazon chocolate is absolutely amazing.
May people asked us if we felt safe taking our kids to the Amazon. And the answer is yes! Absolutely. The Amazon is an exciting place for people of all ages. The locals were kind, the food was amazing. We ate lots of fresh grilled fish. We felt totally safe exploring the river and the city. As far as the river goes. The locals told us that in this part there are no piranhas in the water. So after watching the locals dive in, we let our kids play in the river for hours without a single problem. The water looks brown but was warm and refreshing.
Please check our next video where we tour the city of Belém. Find out the top 10 must-see venues. And why this is one of Brazil’s most culturally unique cities to visit.
