Burning Man is an annual festival held in the Black Rock Desert on the barren playa in Nevada, claiming to be the world's largest Leave No Trace event. For one week, 80,000 people gather to camp out and create an experimental city known as Black Rock City. Today, we travel to the location of Burning Man 2019 to conduct an investigation into what they leave behind. What we found was SHOCKING...

In this documentary, we cover the aftermath of the Burning Man festival: from around the area of Reno, Nevada to the environment around the Black Rock Desert, this is the impact of 80,000 people camping at Burning Man in the Nevada desert.

I think the number one question I get asked about my short-term rental investment properties is how I manage them from afar. I might seem like a complicated thing to coordinate on the surface level, but once you’ve dialed in your systems and automation, your Airbnb business can function as a well-oiled passive income machine.

From a weekly standpoint, I’d say I probably spend 3-5 hours managing all ten of my rental properties. Through empowering cleaners, having a roster of contractors and handymen, automatic messaging and dynamic pricing tools, I’m able to run my vacation rental business on autopilot. I’m less in the weeds these days and more an observer from a bird’s eye view.

TREEHOUSE AIRBNB TOUR! My Solo Roadtrip Vlog in Washington

For the next two nights, I’m sleeping alone in a cozy treehouse near Leavenworth, Washington! It’s right next to a creek with water flowing in from The Enchantments. Located on a 150-acre property, there’s also a barn that’s over 100 years old and a “garden” of cars. Turns out the Airbnb host’s great grandfather built a secret distillery during the 1920s Prohibition and even made a mineshaft using dynamites. Yes, you can walk in the mineshaft! This land has history and I love the great grandfather’s DIY style.

I also check out a couple restaurants and go on a beautiful nature walk. The golden fall foliage at Blackbird Island and Waterfront Park was stunning! The bright yellow leaves from head to toe made my jaw drop. Just magical :) Washington State is rich with amazing scenery, so of course we must check out Icicle Canyon. All this and more! Watch the full video for all the details :)

Please keep in mind that Washington State has distinct seasons. In this video, you'll witness its beauty in autumn. In the winter, you'll need to prepare yourself for snow and ice. Be sure to check for weather updates to ensure a safe and fun trip.

Peloponnes in Griechenland | WDR Reisen

The Greek gods meant well with the Peloponnese: in spring the wild herbs bloom in the green valleys, there is still snow on the peaks of the Taygetos Mountains and the sea is already bathing. On the peninsula with five fingers in the south of Greece, the number of visitors is limited - except in Olympia and some other ancient sites. Time seems to have stopped in the mountain villages and there is space in the cafés in the harbor towns. Andrea Grießmann discovers ancient traditions and magical places - there are many of them in the Peloponnese.

Visiting New Mexico | Ice Cave Bandera Volcano nearest Grants, NM

The Ice Cave and Bandera Volcano is a family-owned and operated natural attraction. Located about 35minutes from interstate 40. its name says it all. You can literally walk up to the Lip of a dormant volcano or step down into an ice cave. But, more on those later

First here’s some useful info about the site.

Open 7 days a week from 9-6 and you don’t need to make reservations to check this place out. Once in the parking lot, you see a nice big picnic area and their trading post. In addition to their trinkets and snacks, the store has a museum area that displays all the historical artifacts found in and around the ice that date back some 1200 years! As well as photos and backgrounds of the people that have been through.

The trading post is also where you can buy admission to the attraction trails. Prices vary by age so check the prices before you head up. These were the prices when we were up there.

TRAIL ADMISSION

Adults
Ages 13 + = $12
Children
Ages 5 to 12 = $6
Children
Under age 5 = Free

On top of that, you can also stay the night on the ice cave and volcano property. We stayed a night in our Van and Loved it. The cell service is spotty, but they got clean bathrooms and a shower! If that sounds interesting to you they have three options to choose from. These were the prices during our stay.

LODGING

Tent camping = $15
Rv parking (no hookups) = $20
Rent a Cabin = $40-50

Booking through harvest host our experience was slightly different from regular visitors We actually arrived just after 6 pm the attraction was closed but opened for us. We got a short Tour / History lesson / Trail Admission / and the overnight stay in our Van for $24 bucks. The most memorable part of that evening was hiking both trails just before dusk. With the sun setting, we had the trails all to ourselves. So the girls got to scream and run amuck as much as they wanted until they tired and had us carry them.

Visiting the volcano played out as much as we expected. The trail snakes around the mountainside as we climbed up toward the opening. It’s important to note that the trail has some steep dropoffs on the otherward-facing side of the mountain. So be careful, especially if you have daring children.

The Ice Cave is when things really got interesting. You turn a corner and see a stairway leading down into the cave. Temps at the bottom of the stairs are in the low 30’s. It was crazy. You would never have expected this cave to be possible, especially after just viewing the volcano. We only stayed a couple of minutes down there because the girls were getting really cold. But they say the ice is over 20 feet thick in some places. After nerding out in there a couple more minutes I was frozen as well and we all made out way back to the van.

Parking Cora into the spot with a sliver of cell service got the girls ready for bed and knocked out. Sadly, we had to get moving well before the sun came up. I’m sure waking up and having breakfast in the picnic area would have been perfect, but America’s big, and it’s got tons to see!

That’s it for the Ice Cave and Bandera Volcano. If you find you’re family road-tripping down interstate 40 New Mexico and you’re looking for a fun detour for the kids consider stopping by the Ice Cave!

We’ll be sure to link the blog post here once we got it up.
