Like EVERYONE on the streets of Juba (South Sudan's capital) is well over 6 feet tall, and many over 7 feet - even the females! It's one of the most unbelievable features of mankind that I've ever seen anywhere on this planet.

The Rio carnaval is the most famous, but two other Brazilian cities host huge carnaval parades other than rio de janeiro - which are São Paulo and Vitoria, Espirito Santo state, which is where I am. The parade is held in a sambodromo called Sambão do Povo, and several samba schols from the city of Vitoria and surrounding cities, like Vila Velha, Cariacica and Serra participate. Each school's parade lasts for around an hour and is an intense riot of music, colours and dancing.

In 2013, the Brazilian news channel, Globo (the CNN of Brazil) ran a series featuring what they believed to be the best small cities in all of Brazil to raise a family. They considered safety, lifestyle, education, health care and more. The first city the featured was São Pedro de Alcântara.
